OK stop it. If I could find how to unsubscribe I would but I can’t and it’s cruel. I can’t think of anything else to sell. 🥲

You may well be right but it is subjective and really depends on the 12.

Looks nice although no bass amp sims yet. Pricey but I wonder if the Helix and Kempers model volume related distortion that well?

THAT Andertons deal for the RH750...can I do better?

I will be bloody loud though. -
I remember someone saying a year or two ago that Schaller's quality was not what it was. I would contact them and ask for their comment.

Agreed so miming it is. I have got a few mics, none of which is an SM58. I am loathe to buy one to be fair so its either miming or foam shield for this gig. As for the soggy mic syndrome, why do people seem to need to swallow a mic?
-
Actually for the audience. miming might will be the best option.

I have a couple of pairs of their in ears and they are great. However I would be happy using any of those liste above.

I have the Smoothound Wireless but like you John I cannot see any reason to "upgrade". The only thing really missing from the B1-Four is a DI out.

i have a very nice Sontronics SOLO mic that I like to use. We have a one day festival gig in September and with the current situation don't want to be singing (I use the term loosley) i to a mic that has other people's bodily fluids added. I realise it will be a sound mixists nightmare but should I be able to use my own mic or just use a mic condom?

Get some Behringer mics. They will only notice that they sound better.

Ali Express have joined the HMRC's VAT scheme and do collect the VAT on behalf of our government.I have also bought some PCBs forma Chinese company recently and they have also signed up. It cannot be beyond the wit of a German company to do the same.

After Eighty - Small Ashdown Combo On Steroids
Chienmortbb replied to Chienmortbb's topic in Build Diaries
I ma amazed that it is almost 5 months since I posted and since then I have been playing through the amp every day. I have a few observations on tge amp and some mods that I will be doing. After some discussion with @Passinwind who designed the pre-amp, I will be modifying the treble control. Although I rarely boost treble and can cut it on the Tone pot of the bass, it seems odd to have a control that seems to do nothing. Secondly, I always needed to add an HPF as the speaker can only go so low and it is a waste of energy and headroom to let those frequencies through. The plan is for a fixed frequency 24dB/octave with a -3dB frequency of 50Hz. This may seem high but it has little effect on the real frequency response of the cab and means that at 100W, the cone excursion is well within the speakers capabilities down to a few Hz. Finally the power amp is capable of 100W into 8 ohms and 170 Watts into 4 ohms. It's just asking for an extension cabinet. So a Fane 8-225 speaker will be fitted into a matching box to utilise the whole power of the amp. So 2x8 stack fed with170 watts, ideal for my open mic gigs IF they start up again. Finally (for this post) a big thank for their help in this project you to @stevie, @Phil Starr and to @Passinwind -
I had the GK and to me it ran out of power quite quickly in a band setting.
-
@stevie designed the BC112 MK3 with the horn rotated 90 degrees sothat the mids and highs could reach your ears while standing in front of the cab.

I have never liked valves but I love calves.

The one fail I have had on a gig is the failure of a Schaller straplock, I felt it go, caught it at about knee height, missed about a bar of the song and carried on with my foot on the cab with the bass on my knee. At the end of the song I got a round of applause.

Defibrillator sounds a good idea,

Ok so I usually don't and the thought of my pride and joy (Aerodyne Jazz) being stolen would break my hearts as I bought it with the money my Mum left me. My Peavey P bass (made In indonesia and bought for £50) has been gigged on many occasion when I working on the Aerodyne. \i suppose a doiuble gig bag would mean I could take both. I alos never take a second amp but do have an Orchid Classic DI.
