None necessary mate, I've enjoyed it all immensely. :De
Me too! I just wish I had thought of the comeback..."Yeah? Well your face is clogging up the forum," sooner. Sorry just a running joke I have with some friends! No hard feelings to anyone and I learnt something valuable. ... That this babicz aint gonna be my babicz!

Herts/Beds/Bucks Basschatters - London Bass Guitar Show
Jonnyboy Rotten replied to Lozz196's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the offer - I am already going with a bunch of people (not sure how many yet) but would be good to look out for each other when were are there. I will be looking out for Bluejay so I can get my Basschat Lanyard off her. -
I do look at a lot of stuff on here and I thought I'd have a look with a view to buy. It's not until you get to the end of the thread that you realise how old it is so I just thought that it was better to PM. Sorry if I sounded rude, no offence intended, peace, love joy etc'
No worries but we didn't know it wasn't still for sale and asking if it is it's not unreasonable. Anyhew... life moves on. ..
Well, I will be wearing my BC lanyard, and so will many other BCers visiting the show. I will also have a number of lanyards with me, which I can give to those who still haven't got one
Cool I should be there on the Saturday so I'll look out for you!
-
So for those of us who are going and don't have the attractive Basschat polo shirts etc how do we recognise each other? Hang a little orange hankerchief out of our left hand jeans pocket?
You could argue that it's actually the most conscientious sellers who refuse to risk things getting damaged in the post.
True but then IMHO they maybe should refuse to post. Not agree to post but at the buyers risk. Any buyer keen enough could organise for their own courier/friend/family to collect it or to arrange a roadtrip....
-
I think the seller refusing to be responsible for shipping also reduces the incentive for the seller to make doubly, doubly sure about packing the item well and offering the best possible protection. Otherwise they (in theory at least) could get away with a single layer of bubble wrap and a few bin liners to send a bass guitar through the post without worry of comeback if (and in all likelihood) when it arrives at the other end damaged.
CAPTION?
After a four hour hike in freezing conditions, Barry wasn't relishing the thought of trying to keep his bass in tune once he got in the warm! -
I took delivery of a pair of Fender Tony Franklin basses from the US last week.
Wow they are both very pretty! I especially love the one on the right. Great colour combo!

I got one of these free with my Ibby SR300 and it has served me well for over a year now. No complaints and it cost just over a fiver! http://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_gs2001e.htm
Does my Demon bass qualify for this bizarre bunch?
Yep I reckon!

I am selling my Ashdown Tourbus 10. I bought it a little less than a year ago and very soon after bought a Hartke A100 as I needed to be heard in Church! The Hartke fulfills both live and practice duties so I need to move this little beauty on. I have used the Tourbus only a few times and it is in mint, like new condition and works perfectly. It features: 10Watt Bass, Treble adjustment Headphone output MP3, Aux input 6.5 inch cone GAK are selling new ones for £69.00. Would consider a trade + cash your way for a Roland Bass Micro Cube RX to allow outdoor shenanigans. Here is a (slightly eccentric) video demo of the ltd edition with the Union Jack. I have the normal one which is identical in spec and sound but slightly less 'Ginger Spice'

I have an Ashdown Tourbus 10 available for sale (I haven't listed it in the for sale section - but in case the mods are looking I have paid my £20 for unlimited sales for a year! Surprisingly small and great for bedroom practice without disturbing anyone. For such a small cab it does kick it out and has good tone until you turn it up to full at which point it starts to lose its composure and becomes a little flatulent but I have only used it on about 3 occasions as I bought my Hartke A100 combo shortly afterwards. Also has bass/treble eq, phones out and MP3/Aux in. They retail at £69 - PM me an offer. I live near Watford so we could meet halfway if you are in Twickenham? *Edit - I have listed it now - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227773-fs-ashdown-tourbus-10-practice-amp-mint/
Since you've decided to replace/move the bridge (because of that sheared mounting screw with the existing cheapo bridge) you're no longer having to get a bridge with 5 matching mounting holes for what was there orginally; this opens up your choices and also means you might only need to move the new bridge mounting holes a few millimetres fore or aft of the existing holes and still have plenty of wood to go at.
That is indeed true! What other options are there? I know you can get 3 screw BBOT's but that doesn't help me really! Are the three screw options the same as above but a variants of each or are there some good (and not too expensive) bridges which come in other forms?
