  1. There is a string through option I believe but I wasn't aware of it at the time. I quite like the quick release.
  2. This probably doesn't help you but there's a guy near me who had a market stall doing shoe repairs/key cutting & the like, he has a CNC machine & will do anything! Might be worth a trip to your local markets!
  3. Hundred quid or so! Worth shopping around!
  4. Body was dipped & lacquered by a company called Hydrodip Designs in Weston Super Mare & the neck was lacquered by Jamie Davey. https://jdaveyguitars.com http://hydrodip-designs.co.uk The fretboard dye & wiring was done by me.
  5. 😂 Sorry, I don't suppose they're that bad, I just prefer the flexibility the VVT arrangement gives it! I originally wanted a pan knob but I already had another volume pot so used that, if a P-retro pops up on the sale boards I might give that a go 😁
  6. No worries, it gets that reaction quite a lot! I bought it cheap when they were end of line, think I paid £220 brand new so thought I'd use it as a platform for mods. The graphics are hydro-dipped, neck lacquered & fretboard dyed, bridge replaced & wired VVT to get rid of the awful pickup switch. Do you wanna see her backside?
  7. @AndyTravis have you considered the Hipshot Vintage? I have one on my 425 & they really suit the style of the bass, not too different from the 102/202 bridges & not all that expensive from what I remember!
  8. I couldn't compare because I haven't heard the Beyers, the Superlux are very neutral sounding & in my opinion well with the money!
  9. I have Audio Technica M50's & they're fantastic but my brother uses Superlux ones from Thomann, they're clones of Beyerdynamic mentioned above & really are something else! I think they were about twenty quid!
  10. I think it's often the way it's asked, if someone asks "any idea of the weight as I hear some of these are quite heavy?" or "could you possibly provide the weight?" Is much more likely to get a response than "weight?"! I often see the latter & think it's a tad rude, that said a comprehensive for sale ad would probably include the weight from the get go! Nice pictures & complete info really improve the sellers chances I think.
  11. Class, & because it's missing knobs you could use the "I'm saving it from landfill therefore preserving the planet" excuse with the Mrs!
  12. Dave came round & relieved me of my LMII, lovely fella & a local boy too! Enjoy Dave!
  13. You owe us a N(Lâkland)BD! Do the right thing Bub 😁
  14. I agree but maybe we need to if he's still trading & taking people's hard earned.
  15. There are a few of us here who were robbed by him, I think any attempt to recover anything will be futile. He clearly couldn't give a rat's donkey.
  16. Used for about the last eighteen months as my main amp and never missed a beat, has some scratches on the top from use and is in perfect working order. I'll take it that if you're looking then you'll probably know what these are about but feel free to ask any questions you may have, I intended on keeping it as a backup but it's too good not to get used. Collection/meetup preferred but could post at the buyers expense. Thanks for looking! Rack ears included!
  17. Such saddening news, heartfelt condolences to all his friends & family.
  18. I use it loads, I think the fretboard on a five makes far more sense in terms of visualising shapes. With two octaves under your fingers the standard forms we all use are less broken.
  19. Under The Bridge was my first but I used a book for that one, the first ones I learnt by ear were David Bowie's Slow Burn & Stars.
  20. They're very similar in some respects but I'd say the Shuttle is more refined & has more tone shaping value. The tube pre is a great addition for adding a touch of dirt. I doubt I'll ever use the preset switching though. That said the LM is a wonderful gigging amp with a nice full fat tone that fills any room I've used it in, its worked really well with my Genz cabs. Both are more than loud enough for my needs but there's more headroom with the Shuttle obviously due to its power. I think MarkBass & Genz heads have modestly rated their power as everyone I've heard has been loud!
  21. Absolutely, it drives the song along nicely, in both versions!
  22. I used to play with a band that insisted on playing War Pigs, I'd happily never play it again!
  23. Ok Ok, technically it's not new because obviously they're discontinued now but it's new to me. Second generation GB Shuttle & its absolutely brilliant, after stupidly letting my last one go I had to buy this for the price it was selling for! Very happy boy today! Might even use it at rehearsal tonight.....
