1.
Hi all Technically some of those short 6-string things actually on the sofa................... But the front row, my recently extended MusicMan family! Back Row Left to Right: 1963 Hofner President Acoustic 1964 Hofner Verithin Semi-Acoustic 1959 Hofner Club 60 1988 Fender Stratocaster Plus Deluxe Front Row: 2010 Stingray 2 EQ - Black with Maple 2005 Stingray 3 EQ - Honeyburst with Rosewood 2007 Stingray 3 EQ - Tobaccoburst with Maple 2005 SUB 2 EQ - Teal with Rosewood Yum, yum
I think you need a Pearl Blue one :-)
2.
It certainly would 😉
Ah, you remember it well.
3. Good score, I think you made the right decision purely based on what I've seen here before. Someone buys a budget bass and says how good it is and before you know it everyone has one, then they kinda go out of fashion. Anyone remember the SX trend? Yours will always be a fender.
4. Yeah it gets oiled & waxed about twice a year. The dirt is starting to build up on it too. Higher maintenance than I'd like to be honest.
5. I'm kinda hoping it might improve it a bit, even the slightest temperature shift effects it. Thought if it was sealed it might behave it's self.
6.
I was gonna suggest any good walwart like the OneSpot or the Godlyke, but they're about the same price as the Diago. Mind & get yourself a daisy lead too.
Noted! I'll try to find one with the right number of plugs.
7. Boom Cheers guys, I've asked the wife to order one. I was going to bit on a power station on eBay earlier but it went for fifty quid in the end. Thanks again
8. I have a Stingray with the raw maple neck and I wondered if I had it lacquered would it make it more stable? Also, would it affect the resale value and how much would one expect to pay for a professional finish? Ta Steve
9. Could anyone recommend a budget compact power supply for three pedals? I only need to run a TC Tuner, Opto Stomp & MXR overdrive and ideally it would tuck away under the board. Cheers
10.
I was a test engineer at Cambridge Audio whilst they were in Byfleet, testing and calibrating the P60 model and R50 speakers. Great amps, and I have never heard better speakers.
What a cool job. My amp is an old A5, it's not very powerful but it works well with the Mordaunt Short's, pretty bombproof too although I did have to change the little glass fuse inside once. Could never figure out why it blew.
11. On a side note, when I was a teenager back in the nineties my dad's transport company used to bring cabs back from Germany for KEF. They went to a small unit in Kent if I remember correctly, anyway, I remember hearing a set of their floor standers there and being totally blown away. Far better sounding than my beloved pioneer separates that I had at the time.
12.
Mordant Short
Bingo A friend of mine worked in one of the hi-fi shops in town & got them at cost price with a Cambridge Audio amp that I also still have.
13. I too am a bit of a speaker perv, I have had these for about twelve years and love them. Not expensive or boutique but a very good clean sounding speaker, especially on stands & spikes.
14.
Any BB1025x users know where I can grab one of these cheaply apart from Thomann and musik-produktiv?? The stock seems to be limited everywhere and I don't want to wait months! I can save a bit by buying elsewhere in the EU than say GAK, so any sites? Thanks
There's an eBay seller who sells 'b stock' at a reasonable price, I'd call for a full description first though.
15. You only have to look at G&L's of late to see the bottle opener thing has been done! Why G&L, why?
16. Great little medley & a dance floor full of giggly dames. Good work bump
17. Seen this in the music news recently & as Keidis's Scar Tissue was such an interesting read I'll be keen to hear Flea's version of events. Love them or hate them, it is a real tale of rock & roll excess.
18.
Wow, that body looks AMAZING now! I'd be in serious trouble if this was 5 stringer...
Consider yourself in serious trouble :-)
19. I'm glad your happy, but I wouldn't have covered that lovely finish. But it's different strokes for different folks as always, enjoy your bass.
20. If I was looking for a new bass in that price range I'd be very tempted on buying one of the B-stock Bb425's off eBay for just a touch over £250. Bargain if the condition is ok.
21. The ultimate funk machine for me is, dare I say, a Stingray. Maybe a EBMM Sub? Well within your budget if you buy a good used one.
22. Fantastic work, I'd be too scared to put it on the floor at gigs. But then we do play mainly sh*t holes
