The board looks great, but I can't get past the craftsmanship in your workbench. Seriously man cool.

I think something that's often overlooked is the strings relationship with the fretboard. If your set to the radius of the fretboard with the G being slightly closer then even a relatively high action can be comfortable. I've played basses in shops where they 'eyeball it' and even being slightly out can make it feel pants.

I don't practice scales nor do I know where the modes are. What I do know is what the main ones sound like (major, minor, pentatonic,etc) so it's not overly difficult to find them in whatever position I find myself in.

Maybe setting up a discount (or asking for one anyway) with a retailer is the way forward if members don't fancy committing to a group purchase. I don't mind doing the legwork so long as Ped & gang are ok with it?

It has occurred to me today that I change my strings pretty much once a month, two basses, two sets of Slinky's. The cost mounts up so I thought I'd ask if anyone is interested in a group buy? Not sure if it's been done before but I think the big retailer's are pretty approachable. We could gang up on them if the order is large enough.

[/quote] I didn't mean to sound negative about it, in fact I love the tone and portability of it and it serves me well and I'm keeping it. Just try one if you can.

I use a contour in a loud rock band & I find I have to crank it to keep up. It's loud enough but just lacking the headroom if you know what I mean. The limiter was lighting up more than I would of liked but if you compress your signal a bit it sorts that out. You could add the extension cab & it's a completely different animal then but defeats the object somewhat.

Rarely do I suffer from gas but this is the main reason I'm avoiding PMT these day's.

Circle is a essential tool for me when working things out, takes out the guesswork.

Slightly different relief for me. I use a pencil & rubber band ( I don't have a capo, I play bass :-) ) to fret the first fret, then hold the E string down at the point where the neck & body join. Then I aim for 0.012 at frets 7/8/9.

What bassbus said, radius gauge and feeler gauge will get you nice consistency in your setups. If you get radius gauges go for the under string ones for ease of use. Edit' & a nice engineer's ruler with 1/2mm increments Edit' edit' & a small torch you can hold in your mouth to look down under the strings when measuring

I had a 300, it was ace. Used it for reggae with dead strings and foam down by the bridge. So much thump. It was a 92 I think, made in Taiwan

They have a few tracks on soundcloud too, I think Buzz is my favorite.

I tend to keep it flat unless my sound is lacking something because of the room, I do play with the contour knob though.

Anyone else a fan? Great use of the bass on most of their stuff I think. Check them out if you haven't already.
