2. If I posted a video of myself playing with painted nails I'm sure I'd get a lot more scrutiny than Steve has in these few posts. No one has said anything negative about the piece he's playing just that some don't get why he wears nail varnish. But hey, we all have quirks, don't stress it.
3. Not sure about the nail varnish though.
4. Cheers Si I don't mind where on the board it go's to be honest. Just want to keep things as simple and compact as I can really. I'm excited about building it just trying to research as much as I can before I part with cash.
5. Thanks for the info on this (to me) relative minefield. Would I be better dropping the tc tuner in favour of something different? I only really chose it because of its availability and looks.
6. I know where your coming from Bub, but, coupled with that picture I couldn't help but think of 70s porn:-)
7.
Snap Richard Great (under-rated) basses Congratulations
Wow, That's creamy goodness right there.
8. Thanks for the advice, luckily I haven't bought a power supply yet so I'll do the maths first. I wouldn't dream of opening the 'what order debate', seen it here a million times before:-)
9. Cool, I was worried about power supplies being different more than anything. Excited about trying it out though.
10. Horizontal is the only way dude. I will be buying off here if the things come up & I don't get impatient, I just bought my opto from a bc member & intended on putting my MXR compression up for sale but I'll hold onto it for now. I kinda like to keep things simple hense not wanting to get hooked up on trying loads, if I can get the sounds I like first time then that's a bonus.
11. I'm a complete novice when it comes to effects, in fact I only ever use compression but lately I feel I need to fill the space in some of our songs so I'm looking at a few gadgets. I'm thinking along the lines of a TC tuner, MXR overdrive, MXR octave & my newly acquired Opto Stomp. I like what the MXR pedals do separately but my question is, is there any reason these pedals couldn't go on the same board? Like I said I'm not up on these things & I don't want to spend loads buying and selling. Any advice and tips greatly received. Steve
12. Welcome to BC, now stop reading and go get yourself out there
13. Bought Mart's Opto Stomp this week. Smooth transaction, good communication. Deal with confidence.,
14. Great work, I love the fact that your forty & still roped the old fella in. Dad's eh, they're great!
15. £350 I paid for my 1024 used with a hissox case. Bargains are out there to be had.
16.
I'm super impressed by the 1024x and especially the 2024x models - but as an aside I wonder how the baby of the family, the 424x measures up against it's competitors? Thanks to the fearsome reputation of it's big brothers it has become an alluring cheap (ish) option for me.
The 424's are very nice, I was looking at them when my 1024 came up at the right price. Nice necks & the pickups are pretty hot too.
17.
I can't remember
If I see it I'll let you know
18. Yeah, some conversations are best left in the rehearsal room's.
19. It is a good looking bass. *edit* did it stay local to us or did it get shipped off somewhere?
20. I've owned a few Bb's & the fit and finish has been flawless on all of them, go try a few. The only difference with the x models is the pickguard, control plate & knobs.
21.
Also, load the PC software and connect the Backtrack. You can then configure it for the type of band - obviously a folk group needs the levels set a lot higher than a heavy metal band. That is the key to the recording quality. It will also start and stop the recording automatically when you start/finish songs. Excellent bit of kit!
Thanks for the info, unfortunately after checking I realised mine is the no Mic version but I think I'll be investing in the other one for recording rehearsals.
