1. Ain't seen the choc orange one around for a while, you after getting it back?
2. Small mixer and & headphone splitter cable should do ya.
3. Welcome to the forum, my wife mellowed to the bass gear after about ten year's, so not too long to wait eh!
4.
Put it on a table out front and press record. You'll get some good results. Built in limiter only lets the loud stuff through but doesn't overdrive ( unless too close to speakers) like most Video cams or phones!
Cheers, I'm very tempted to keep it now for recording rehearsals. We can do it through the desk and the room mike's but no one ever brings a memory stick. Decisions decisions
5.
I have a Backtrack with integral microphone and it's superb - the best live recordings I have heard from loud bands.
Mine has the Mike, how do you record bands with it? Maybe I should read the distructions:-) *edit* no mike on this one
6. Maybe it's as simple as when you first start playing you feel that your ability doesn't warrant the large outlay for a 'quality' instrument. Then as you grow as a player you feel that a reward for all the hours of practice is necessary.
7. Thanks for the offer but I have no use for it. Cheers anyway.
8. I have as the title says a Line 6 Back Track recorder that I had completely forgotten about until today. It's a simple unit for recording bass (or guitar) on the fly through the internal memory. Unused and in original box with all the leads and instructions. Pm for more info Edit* I didn't realise there were two versions of this & unfortunately after checking this is the one without the microphone.
9. I have something called a Line 6 Back Track. I've never used it but it captures everything you play through it and then plugs in through a Usb port. Do a Google search see if it fits your needs and if you want to buy one drop me a pm.
10. Different strokes for different folks man, some might say basses with animals on their pickguards look like kids toys.
11. Welcome to basschat, hope you find what your looking for.
12. Welcome Anis hope you like it here. I'm in the process of planning a holiday to France for late summer time, can't wait.
13. You'll get used to it, I switch between a Yamaha Bb and a Stingray and both feel perfectly natural.
14.
I'd get half a dozen songs that you like and are circuit staples - depending on the kind of stuff you want to play. As for band-mates well I wouldn't go hunting other people of your level, try to get into a group that are more experienced as they will pull you along really quickly. I've seen several "new" bands made up of beginners and they just get stuck in a rut not knowing how to progress, which songs to choose, or how to start/end/improv. You need half a dozen songs that you can play without any notes and with very few mistakes so at least if you audition you can bash through a 1/4 set to get a feel. Cheers, Rich
What Rich said, I personally started to see big improvements in my playing once I joined a band. Don't be worried too much, it's supposed to be fun remember! Edit+ my brother was playing with his folk band after only two months of picking up a bass. It can be done.
15.
It's not finished yet, just the heastock to decal and lacquer but as the 'white bass' thread is at the top of the page, why not add to it . Here's my Variax which started out black but I really never liked the style of it but loved the versatility of it, so refinished it with a smattering of Fender Tele Thinline influences. 16. FLATS! Those pickups excel with fresh rounds, more punch than I've heard from any bass. Just roll the tone off man;»}
17. I'm a fan of these, just can't get on with the bottle opener headstock. Keeping my eye open for an older one with the fender headstock. Enjoy it, you won't want to give it back.
18. Nice little set up you have there, I reckon it'll sound immense. Congrats
19. I use a Genz contour & the limit light flickers quite a lot (i started a thread about it amps & cabs). I was worried about doing damage but it sounds ok and the protection isn't dropping in so I guess I just need to look at the pre amp settings again. I was a bit disappointed when it started doing it at only half volume though.
20. Is the truss rod loose? Sometimes after you've backed them off a little they can rattle inside the neck.
21. Welcome to BC & congratulations for sacking off Facebook.
