1. Wasn't there a white five string for sale here recently? I'm sure I thought about it.
2. Definitely worth it to keep a nice bass alive.
3. Gorgeous bass, I'll have a punt. 300?
4. I thought it might be ok, going to take a drive to pmt the weekend see what they've got. All the basses that have came through our house and he has no interest. Kids eh.
5. My eldest son has now decided that guitar is not enough for him and wants to give the drums a go. Space is limited so an electric kit is probably better. The only thing I know about drums is how to sit on the beat so any advice on negotiating this relative minefield would be gratefully received. I've seen this one http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/87798-alesis-dm-lite-electronic-drum-kit-with-free-sticks.html
6. You wouldn't tell it's not a Stingray with your eyes closed. I was out to buy one a couple of years ago but I ended up with more funds than I expected so I bought the Ray instead. Edit- there's no cutaway on the top off the body either, wouldn't bother me at all but could be a crux for some.
7. Same electrics & pick-up sound like a Stingray but the finish is basic. Black painted neck and the body is kinda like a textured finish. I'd have one anyday.
8. Yeah, for the money they do seem to be a good bet. I'll be running them with my lexicon alpha & my old laptop. Give my ears a break from the headphones. Thanks for the reply.
9. I'm considering buying some cheap monitors for practice so I can have an alternative to earphones. I came across these M-Audio ones and wondered if anyone had any experience with them, good or bad. Cheers Steve
10. It's very cool but forgive me for asking, what does plec'd mean? Nevermind, I googled it.
11.
I've been learning this. Here's by far and away the best video. .
I must say that Musicman balances rather nicely on her lap.
12. I don't mind buckle rash if I've done it but I wouldn't buy a bass with it.
13.
Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker -
This, and some other really old music by some other really old guys who's names I can't pronounce.
14.
Good to hear it's still in safe hands. I've seen very few in that colour paired with maple.
It is gorgeous, the colour changes depending how the light hits it.
15.
Hi all This is my current black beauty, a 2 band EQ recently purchased from a fellow bass chatter. It's immaculate without a scratch on it and sounds fantastic. The blue one was my first, a 3 band that was also absolutely gorgeous. At the time of selling. my band had wrapped up and I just didn't have time to sort a new project out due to work commitments. Again, this was sold to a bass chatter and I'm sure it went to a good home. I just love 'em! Cheers
It did go to a good home, I still have it for now. It's a beast.
16. I had the same thought just after christmas, so I sold a couple, gave one away and now I have a Stingray & a Yamaha Bb. When the basses start to sell again the Stingray will be going. I've he'd plenty but there's something about romancing one bass that I kinda like. Growing old together sort of thing.
17. I don't have anything from when I was younger, I also don't have my parents anymore. I'd keep it.
18.
Your bass is trying to drive the output of your phone - and failing! You could try putting a 1k resistor in line with each source.
I wouldn't know where to begin to be honest, it's not a problem just thought it might be a useful addition.
19. I normally fret the string at the last fret and aim for 3mm from string to pickup. So they are angled inline with the fretboard radius. Keeps the volume even across all the strings. Edit+ same process on the hotrail too but normally a bit lower than the P
20. Thought I'd update this should anyone be interested. It didn't work, I could get great sound from my phone through the bass trainer but as soon as I plugged both the bass & the phone in together I lose the bass.
21. The neck is substantial on the 1024's but not P wide, has a lovely feel and is well finished fret wise. I love mine.
22. I'm live in the same town and could probably help you out but obviously dont want to end up with a bass I don't need. Pm me if you like.
23. I'm also Steve but no sausage fingers here. Welcome to the forum you can never have too many Steve's
