1. I've got a white one without the X, the fretboard is rosewood but its so dark it looks amazing. Great basses.
2. Jim Creegan of Barenaked Ladies, awesome on Brian Wilson.
3. Around the World is a bit of an anthem on the dance scene. Or at least it was. Great driving bass line.
4. What songs are you looking at? I'm going to have a look at the new one with Pharrell Williams this weekend.
5. I first heard the Police when I was a teenager in the early 90's. I can still remember, it was a live performance on American forces radio (I was in Germany) and they have been there in my Cd collection ever since. Great band & I don't think Sting is a Tool really.
6.
Slight update to my previous post from last week. As much as I am loving my new BB1024, I took it back to GAK today to change it... for a different colour. I'd tried both the Vintage White and Caramel Brown - the latter I liked much more than I thought I would, it looks so much nicer, classy even, in the flesh than on a laptop screen. The 1024 is offered in four colours - Vintage White, Caramel Brown, Black and Sunburst. I'm not really into Sunburst that much and I'm after a change from Black. It was a really difficult choice between those two colours last week, but over the past few days I realised that white isn't for me. GAK were brilliant, no problems at all swapping it. So, now I have a rather suntanned 1024! Cheers Geoff
I'm sure there's some law somewhere saying you have to show us pictures!!!!!
7.
I shall do dude Have you been to one before ? If so what are they like ?
I keep missing them due to work getting in the way but worth a visit by all accounts.
8. Beautiful, bet you can't put it down.
9.
, I love this place if only it were some kind of center for all things BASS where people would meet and jam.
Keep your eye's peeled for the Midlands Bass Bash in the events board
10.
haha thats fine, i guess it all cost between £700-£800, obvioulsy theres quite a bit to pay in postage and import taxes BUT if you were buying a Pensa/sadowsky/suhr you would have to pay that anyway. hope that helps
Cheers, that was about what i was thinking. It's a great looking bass, there's something about Jazz's without the pickguard. I'll take another look at your channel when thing's quieten down around here.
11. Nice build, but could I be really cheeky and ask how much it has cost to put together and the spec's? I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it! *edit* sorry if my questions are answered in your video, its hard to hear with all these damn kids
12. Another one for the West Mids contingent, welcome & make yourself at home.
13.
I've just treated myself to a Vintage White 1024, from GAK. Rather pleased so far, sounded delightful at practice last night and our drummer was very complimentary of the tone - he does know his stuff too. At first I thought the X version looked meaner, but there's something about the classic uncluttered simplicity of the non-X version. Fit & finish are top-notch - and the price was tantalisingly good.....
I've had mine since Christmas & It's just starting to feel lived in ( if that makes sense ). I have to agree with the 'x' thing too, I prefer the classic look, the only thing that I'd change is the colour. It's not that I don't like VW but I'm a sucker for natural. Not an option on the 1024s though.
14. Thanks for the info. Further investigations are in progress.
15. So I've been interested in graphite necked jazzes for a while and I was looking for info on the Modulus. I've read various reviews (including the one here) but I'd like to know how people get along with them long term and who distributes them in the UK. If I decide to go down this road then the other basses I have must go to fund it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Steve
16. +1 for Yamaha Bb's or Westfield do a decent p bass
17. Paul bought one of my Yamaha Bb's today. Nice lad, we met at the services and the deal was done. Cheers Paul
18. Nice one Mushers, I work all my lines out from chords. What a useful tool.
19.
I'd willingly have it back, hindsight taught me how good it was. Alas just bought a new combo and not sold my old one to pay for it.
I know I'll regret letting it go,but the 1024 just beats it tone wise.
20.
beautiful
They are. And I'm particularly attached to the 614 but I can't keen them all.
21.
Hi where are u based
Wolverhampton, but prepared to travel a little.
