1. Just check and check again that it is straight, a little lateral movement at the heel will equal much more at the headstock.
 2. +1 for the Westfields, I've got a Jazz and my brother has a Precision. Both nice basses.
 3.
Id put an MM back where it belongs and keep the J neck pup. That would be interesting A
That's what i would do too
 4.
Fine, but how's the bass..?
Bass............. what bass?
 5. Now sorted. I applied said lube/cleaner in a vigorous action and whilst doing this my knob got stiffer and then there was a sudden release and now my knob is slack. I am so satisfied. Thanks for all your contributions and keep on truckin.
 6. Defo! I'm trying to live by the five bass rule at the moment, I don't need anymore but there is always something to tempt.
 7.
I spotted this today, very nice example indeed Would be tempted if I didn't already have one (albeit a later 1991 version)
It is nice, I must also resist. Unless i want to live in the garage of course.
 8.
Heres a tip, bend the last half an inch of your switch cleaner tube at 90 degrees. Makes it much easier to get it in the hole.
Lol.... Welcome aboard Brancini, its not always like this around here.

 10.
As previously stated - make sure your knob is not rubbing on your body
Yup, definitely no knob rubbing going on,
 11.
Just checking, you've removed the knob and the ... ahem... shaft is still stiff? Sometimes the bottom of the knob can rub up against the body and become stiff... ... I'm off for a cold shower.
Lol, I haven't removed it yet, should probably have investigated before posting. Is the a particular contact cleaner or are they all the same? Thanks for the advice on the Farcela polish too,its great.
