1. That's a nice early Squier, I think they went JV, SQ, A etc.
2. Doh, just looked at the back body picture (without glasses this time) and can see the F on the neckplate, so it's definately not 1959. Possibly 1971? Senior momment......
3. [sub]So have I got the serial number/date wrong or is it a WRONG UN?[/sub]

SHOULD BE 1970'S Appologies for not spotting my mistake sooner guys.... Same long time owner and looks to be all original I am in no way connected to the sale.
5. The best bit of the story is they picked it up at a car boot fair (Baylands) for £? Too far for me to travel to, so I am off to my nearest one this Sunday....just in case Ha! So they stand to make a decent return, whatever it goes for! £350 max IMHO, anymore and you've got far too much money.
6. Out of interest I asked if they would remove the neck screws and take a photo of the neck pocket and heel date. They refused, on the grounds that they didn't want to damage it? They also said that their brother in law (who has owned guitars since the sixties) checked the neck out. So maybe they are not as clueless as they at first appear. The neck does look right, but I'd prefer to see the proof.
7. Has anyone else seen the JV issue Squire on e-bay ? It has no pups, controls, knobs, and still there are people claiming its worth £900 to £1000 It doesn't even have photos to show its neck pocket stamp to show whether its an export model or not. Its also quite late on in the production run at 69,000 Surely this should be worth no more than £300 in this condition? Is this model really rare/that valuable?
8. The rest of the parts are available if anyone need something for their grabber. Thanks, shockwave for buying the pu, its posted and on its way. Took me a while to get the Devo connection, then I remembered their fondness for oddly shaped instruments.
9. Now separated into choice cuts and available back on e-bay.

11. Yes your'e right, I read the article again and checked the photo (with my glasses this time) and it is indead a fixed single humbucker. I have also been shown a photo of the body routes now, and yeah there would be quite a bit work involved. I am also told that the Epiphone bodies are slightly larger than the early 70's grabber bodies. I notice that you have a grabber for sale, what year is it? Regards

Hi, I was intending to attach a pic or two of my basses. I have discovered I am a bit thicker than I was hoping not to be. Can anyone please advise an old fart how to do this? I bet its really simple and I am gonna feel stupid, or I am going to have to pop to the shop for some stonger meds. Thanks in advance
13. I thought that I read somewhere that there was a sliding pickup version of this ripper bass?? I was hoping that they used a common body, so this version may have had the route Pity I have come across a one in natural for sale, that would have been ideal. Thanks again for the info
14. Hi skater Dan, can I ask what the pick up routing on these basses looks like? Could you please take a photos for me. Reason. I am looking for a replacement body for an old Gibson Grabber bass that I am trying to restore, and I think that maybe this type of bass could make a suitable doner. Its got the same body shape, just need to know if the pu cavity can accomodate the grabbers sliding pick up. Thanks in advance for the help.
15. Hi Steve has is own Signature Bass by Fender as well as his own Signature strings by Rotosound. I believe he uses Flatwounds 50, 75, 95 110 (Rotosound SH77) and Semour Duncan SPB1 Vintage pickups, both fitted to his Fender Precision (sporting West Ham colours) Alder body, Maple neck/fretboard. The rest of the magick is in Steve's rockin digits.
