1. The Fearless F112 has been quite good for doubling for me. Can be puched very hard for loud gigs. You just need a good, powerful amp. You can eq them with great results. They are really light to carry as well
2. Have you considered renting for a year or so until he grows?
3. You could also get a Fearless built professionally. I've replaced a very well enginieered 212 with a F112 and it is doing the job very well. A Fearless F115 might be all you need.
4. I have an East BTB with passive bypass and passive tone installed on my main bass. Sometimes I run it passive if I hear things that way on the day, sometimes i run it active. It sounds great either way. It really shines in the studio where i can get many different tones as per requirements on the day.
5. Enjoy! I did ships for years and it strengthend my playing to no end. Lots of time to practice if you want, or not. I'd say if you're not used to that duration of playing, just take it easy and stay relaxed. It helps if you have an adjustable bridge to lower your action if need be. I'd also recommend learning as many of the charts/pad as possible so you don't have your head burried in a music stand and you miss all the action
6. This is a steal. These amps are great for doubling. They obvioulsy work great for DB. They are also great amps for slab as you can stick any preamp pedal in front and you get that tone with loads of power, espcially if you run at 4ohms. If I didn't already have a Focus head I'd be collecting my coppers for sure
7. I was wondering if that was a customer build or a stock bass. I was secretly hoping for it being a stock one as motivation to gather all my money and buy it Lovely bass Eude, enjoy.
8.
Out of interest, Where can you get an Fdeck clone made?
http://basschat.co.u...ost__p__2398129
9. I run Innovation Honeys on a 5 string BSX. They warmed the tone up no end from the Spiro weichs that were on there.
10. Hi Rabbie, I have a Fdeck clone I can send you to use for a while. I'm on a mag pup now. PM your details
11. As every bass is different, it's hard to know how a string will work until you try it. I've never played Helicores so can't comment on those. I had Evah weichs and found them higher in tension than Spiro weichs on my bass. Innovation Honeys were a good choice. I've had both Velvet Blues and Animas on the same bass and whilst the tension was very similar, the I much preferred the Animas, but they are pricey. Trying to find low tension and high volume might prove tricky. Good luck with the search.
12. What about the braided Honeys? They are meant for bowing but reportedly sound great pizz too. I've come to terms with Spiro weichs on my ply and bowing and pizz are ok. It's a dark boomy bass though so they don't sound boingy at all
13. Purchased a tuner from Nick. Great comms and a speedy transaction with quick postage. What more could you ask for? Thanks again.
14. Have you thought about renting a nicer one? Also, where are you located?
15. Enjoy, they are great basses.
16. IME The Evah weichs were stiffer than Spiro weichs, but that was on my bass. Might be different on yours. Have you thought about trying Spiro solos or even bumping a Stark or Mittel set?
17. +1 Reminds me of a Warwick Triumph
18. Your website link looks bust. Wish this was a little closer, I'm up for a new electric project.
19. TPJ

SOLD

Is postage an option?
20. I love the shape, those big upper bouts Best of luck with the sale.
21. I've had the best overall results on my basses with the Fishman Full Circle. I've tried and liked the Bassmax. The one I liked the most is the Rev Solo 2 but they can be fiddly to mount and keep in the right position. I'm venturing into the mag pickup realm soon.
22. A few mics may give you a better "room" sound. We've placed mics in all sorts of positions. Last time was a SM58 wrapped in foam stuck in the bridge feet plus a nice valve mic about 2 feet away at bridge level with a condenser somewhere else in the room. We also fed just a little piezo into the mix. Another time we stuck a 57, valve condenser and a D112 pointing at various angles towards the top but all at bridge level and about 1-2 feet away. Depends with the tone/sound you're after. Experimentaion will be your friend I can't recommend an interface as I leave that to the other guys.
23. There are these too, a little different from the Roland Battery operated PA
24. That should be a nice sounding modular rig. Enjoy
