1.
Any trades?
Hi, no trades I'm afraid unless you have a Duke double bass or a Fearful F112.
2. Bump for this nice amp £700 ONO. Needs to go.
3. It's addictive, aint it
4. Yes, echoing the others, thanks for all your help, advice and wisdom Daf.
5. Nice bit of Rube Goldberg there Thomann sell these types of things too. I work in Shipley so if you want to compare double basses let me know and I'll drag mine to work one day
6. Hi mate, I hope you're well. Glad to hear you're playing more DB What's your budget for a DB? There are quite a few choices depending on what you have to spend.
7. What a DB should sound like. Watching him play comforts me in my less than orthodox technique.
8. How is the volume with these?

Nice blondie you have there
10. The Yamaha Motion MB basses are 32" and sound great.
11. What sort of strings are on there? Lower tension strings would help hand fatigue a bit, but the thing might still move around. Have you had any lessons from a good DB teacher/player? That may also help with how you position the bass when playing. I think there is a niche market for a Stagg stabiliser
12. Another possibility is getting 4/4 Spiro mittels for your 3/4 bass (assuming it's 3/4). If you research this you will find that you potentially get that full bodied mittel sound and volume with less tension, but more tension than weichs. Of course, every bass and player is different so your results might vary. Good lucj and let us know how you get on.
13. Nice one! What a great gift. Definitely look into getting some lessons and most of all, Enjoy
14. Fearless F112?
15. Is this every Thursday? Sods law that I'm going to the Hepworth tonight for a free jazz concert so can't come tonight.
16. +1 on the Rev. It was the best sounding pickup on my bass but was very sensitive to being knocked, temperature etc... If you have adjuster wheels, maybe give the Gage Lifeline a try. The Fullcircle as a great all rounder too. EDIT: The Lifeline is a Gage product, not Fishman. Sorry.
17.
I had a similar problem which was cured by moving the sound post. Tend to agree it's luthier time.
Me too. Sound post adjustment made a world of difference.
18. Nice find. Enjoy
19. That's a great price for one of the best DB pups. I'd be tempted to leave it in the drawer in case the Realist doesn't work out. Are you going for that new one that slots in the adjuster?
20.
PM'D
Replied.
21.
I would have it if it was the 15........ Are these things loud, like full band loud?
Hi Wonky, depends on what you mean by "full band". I've used it in 3-5 piece bands and never had a problem. At one power trio gig I brought both this combo and 2 Aggie GS112 speakers. First set I played the Aggies and second used just the Mesa and there really wasn't much in it. You can get a lot of sound out of these without pushing the amp and using it sensibly. If you are battling two guitarists with 4x12 cabs you might struggle, but I would think any single 12 would in that scenario.
22. Willing to entertain sensible offers. No trades though, sorry.
23. I use a Mesa Walkabout 12 as a doubling amp and never had tone issues. I use the Mesa head as it works well for tone shaping and getting rid of boom. I also use the cab with an AI Focus head and it works great too.
24. ALL GONE NOW. I bought the head off here a few years ago and bought the combo cab separately. The cab is the older style and is 4 ohms. The head is the red face type with dual inputs. Serviced in the last year or so and not used too much. I use this as my doubler amp for electric and double bass. These are great amps...loud, portable, and a full range of tones. This cab has two handles on the sides while the handle on the top was removed. The screws are still there so a new top handle could easily be re-installed from the looks of it. I prefer the two side handles as it makes it a little easier to move around. Comes with the Mesa cloth cover. In great condition with no issues that I know of. Collection only from Wakefield. I'm also willing to meet within a reasonable distance (50-60 miles). No trades, I need cash for another double bass. UPDATE: The cab is now sold. [s]The head is still available[/s]. The head is now sold too. £[s]725[/s] £[s]700[/s] £[s]450[/s]. Cash on collection or bank transfer, no paypal.
