1.
Don't suppose anyone's been quoted a price for these yet? Apologies if I've read over it and not noticed
£282 for either from Dawsons.
  2. Use a looper Lay down a quick groove and play over that
  3.
It looks good but, sadly, does not receive the seal of approval as the scale is too short. Not recommended.
Why not recommended? There are plenty of short and medium scale bass lovers out there. 32" is a very happy medium...it worked great on the Kubicki and those are great basses as well as the Birdsongs which are 31.5".
  4.
Very tempted. Anyone seen a price or release date yet?
Dawsons in Leeds said they could get one within a week if a deposit is made.
  5. Very cool
  6.
With the para EQ rolled all the way down to 30Hz, and backed off the maximum (-15db) With those rumbly lows shelved out, neither the amp nor the cab had to work particularly hard. It was a joy.. such a tight, punchy, fat sound. Walkabout. A beautiful head.
+1 I use mine mostly for double bass (walkabout 12 combo) and the flexibility of that para eq section is great. For rock gigs I pair the amp with 2 Aggie GS112's and am never left wanting.

Pete just bought a Lakland from me. He is a very nice chap and a gentleman to deal with. Great comms all through out and we had a nice chat when we met to handover the bass. Thanks again Pete, great to see you again and enjoy the bass.

  10.
These are amazing!! I have the mahogany version and i love it!! Awesome little basses with a HUGE sound
+1
  11. In my day we were just dorks
  12.
I always thought he went through the desk in the studio.
+1 That paint on the side looks awfully fresh
  13. You can do the IEM relatively cheap with small mixers and cheaper ear phones. I've tried this with an acoustic duo playing large venues. It was just too fiddly for our short setup times so we reverted to pickups and monitors and it was more stuff to carry. How big is the group? Have you tried just using one or two central mics and standing in semi-circle around them with out backline?
  14.
can someone please tell me what that upright is in the photo?
Looks like either and Ampeg baby bass or an Azola version
  15. I have one of those Hurley twin pups if you want to try that, it's the one I was passing around for people to try. PM me if you're interested.
  16. The Bassmax on my bass had a very big low end and was almost scooped sounding, not thin or nasal at all. I used it with Innovation Honeys and found the tone a bit plasticy, I don't know if that was the pup, the strings or the combo of both. Are you sure it's in ok? e.g. not too tight or too loose. The FC is a good and they could cut your existing bridge to install it.
  17. Just purchased a bunch of wall hangers from Russ. Nice, quick, smooth transaction with great comms, and the items are great. Buy with confidence. Thanks again
  18.
In principle I'd be up for that but just googled and a curvey pointy thing costing £49 appeared. Eeek
I know, that's like charging £50 for a coat hanger. I took my bass out of it;s case this morning, I haven't played it for 3 weeks due to tennis elbow that has returned I forgot how long it takes to build strength and callouses and how quickly it all goes.
  19. Good stuff Where did you have the work done?
  20. Post curry burp.
  21. Bump. Buy this bass whilst the weather is crap, you won't miss being outside as you will be filled with sunshine playing it.
  22.
Can someone please build me one of these cabinets?!?! There seems to be a lack of builders of these cabs in the UK.
Doesn't mrtcat on here build them? He also does BFM cabs. Says so here
