2.
Really great basses for the price. ...you can't go wrong. Best of luck with the sale! P.s. £600 is a steal!
+1 Bump
3. pm's replied to.
4. I got this to try on an EUB but I don't think it suits the bass. Therefore, for sale for £90 ono posted. Will trade it for a Full Circle. Let me know if the pricing is right as I'm guessing a little
5. Thanks mate, hope you are well. I still have that Roland amp, it's been a workhorse Bump
6.
Ooh... you're just down the road... if the 15 is still here on payday, and I can source a cheap but decent driver for it...
Buy that Kappalite 15 in the "Other Stuff" section and put that in there...

How does the EB3 wiring differ from the SG wiring? One of these basses has been near the top of the todo list for a while
8. I noticed you have a Mesa WA combo. That's what I use for DB and it really does rather well.
9.
A simple high impedance buffer circuit is pretty easy to knock up.
There is a chap called fdeck on Talkbass that has designed one, he is a double bass player. It's this one.
10. PM me your details. I'll post them to you and if they are ok for you we'll settle on a price. It won't be much.
11. Sell the bass Chris and get a Chadwick Folding bass.
12. Hi Wayne, I did something very similar to a bronco. Consider replacing that pickup. I bought a £15 Artec hotrail off ebay for mine and it helped the tone immeasurably. There are also other pup alternatives that fit. That stock strat pup is rubbish. I also added a cheap £10 high bass bridge.
13. Bump for a nice bass
14.
Bump! Nobody here has a passive Fender, Lakland or anything else and wants to give it a Sadowsky active EQ for a measley £115????????????? I'm surprised fellow bass chatters!!!!!
These are great for active instruments as well. I used to swear by mine when used with a Stingray and and active 5 string jazz bass with an East preamp. Gives an extra "width" to the tone of any instrument, and as you say, great with passive basses too.
15. Hi Adrian, I have an old set of Evah Weichs but I played them for a year or so. Would these still be of use?
16.
Just a quick note to confirm that TPJ is a top chap, and very easy to do business with. Best of luck with the sale

Great Bass, nicely priced. GLWTS.
Thanks guys
I've always fancied one of these. What's the tone like?
You can get quite a bit out of these. Active set flat has more of a midrange bump than passive. The front pickup does a lovely woody P-bass-ish tone. The rear pickup with it's 3-way option gives you very good jazz bass tones, but I found the best tones for me were from blending the front and rear to varying degrees. I wouldn't call any of the active tone "vintage", it's more modern sounding, but the passive tones are very nice. The only thing that would make it even more great would be a passive tone control. The whole bass sounds very even across the range. Hope this helps.
17. These are now on hold pending a sale. Selling these great cabs. I've played them for a few years now. They still sound great but the carpet is looking a little woolly on the bottoms now, which helps lower the price. £400 ono for the pair collected or delivered within a reasonable distance for some diesel ££. I'm in Wakefield, West Yorks. No trades, just a sale please.
18. Bass is now sold. I'm having a clearout to recoup some costs of a big car service and to try and change tack a bit. I want to get a 10-12 string tapper. I'm shifting this very nice Lakland Skyline 4402. It's very light, plays well and looks nice too. I'd like £600 ono. No trades, just cash. Comes with a soft hard case and ideally would like to hand it over in person as I've seen things broken thanks to couriers. I'll travel a bit for a little juice money. I'm in Wakefield, West Yorks. Also selling my Aguilar GS112's This is the bass (pic is from Gusto's recent sale thread)
19.
although I would like a separate rig for my electric and double basses
Why? The AI into the Acme with a good preamp will give you one very good rig for both leccy and DB. Maybe a different pre for leccy and DB would be all you'd need.
20. I would think pics would help stir up interest
21. There is a luthier in Nottingham, Kai Dase (http://www.yell.com/b/Kai+Dase+Violins-Violins-Nottingham-NG13FB-7154461/aboutus.html) If he doesn't rent, he may know where.
22. Did you sell your AI? A Tech21 VT pedal into the AI makes a lovely noise.
23.
Also the Walkabout has more than enough volume for any gig I have done.
+1 I have a DI before the Mesa when playing live. I never use the Mesa DI unless I'm in the studio where I can EQ for the recording, most of the time I need the eq to make the the bass sound good in the room and that would equate to a lousy DI tone to the PA.
