1. France has always had a serious funk side, does anyone know who played bass on Cortex,s stuff, its up there with Jaco some of it sounds like a funkier return to forever. And +10 for bangalter, wish daft punk would get some more stuff out.
2. Were most 70s jazzfunk players using jazz bass or precision?
3. The mizell brothers production is well good, the sound is so clean.Just listening to the night creatures "thats the night" funkiest thing i have heard for ages.
4. Wish i could get one of them in the sack.
5. There is this really cool french band in there called cortex,i now know where daft punk and air nicked all there stuff from.
6. I recently have got my hands on a ton of really rare 70s jazz/funk. I was picking through and found this album by a band called aquarian dream. The bass playing on it is fantastic,i listened to some more and realised there were probably a lot of equally as good players as bernard edwards in the 70s who never got recognised, the standard of bass playing back then was just incredible. Some of the licks on the stuff produced by the mizell brothers are awesome. So now i am back into disco.
7. I would get a decent outboard soundcard, use a better DAW and use some VSTS to adjust sound nuance you can get ones which provide analog warmth, better stereo spread etc.
8. You need to ask for plastic control rods for an R/C glider they will be perfect,i know because i fly em.
9. Well done mate i liked it. It sounds a bit like crazy penis or shpongle, the video was good as well.
10. Even people who dont play guitar know fenders name,i bet none of them have heard of cort.
11. He plays like butter fantastic growl
12. Get skinheads/short cuts or dress like joy division, i bet you it will work as long as you play well and tight. Just make sure people move around dance at your gigs.Best of luck mate.
13. I presume this pedal is analog is there a lot of difference between this and a digital type of phase shifter?. I know analog is thicker sounding usually.
14. Nah mate i wouldnt be suprised if it went for that, its one of the first of its kind and extremely rare its pre dallas arbiter. Its a bit of a museum piece really.
15.
The 3 nicest basses I have ever played are Fenders. I don't want to look like a space man when I'm playing so I hate all this carbon fibre sh*t. I also refuse to put batteries in a bass guitar. Batteries are for TV remotes and my girlfriends rampant rabbit. I also don't want to sound like a guitar. Just a dull thump suits me. Quirky basses f*** me off. The people who play quirky basses often have quirky hair. And probably wear trainers with a suit, just to look quirky. Just because you've got no personality and your parents ignored you, don't try and make up for it with a silly quirky guitar. Spikey metal basses. What a load of sh*t. Everyone knows the mettallers at school were the geeks who played dungeons and dragons. Having said that, a lot of those goth birds take it up the arse, so maybe their on to something? Still, get a hair cut, take of your cape and get a f***ing job that doesn't involve breeding snakes or working in the IT department. I genuinely couldn't give a f*** what its says on the headstock of a bass, I just think Fender got it right. Other manufacturers (like those c**ts at Warwick) seem to think "how can we make a design different from a fender?" as opposed to "How can we design a great bass?". I played a Burns the other day. That was alright. Different but still comfy and doesn't make you look like a c***. Although I do look (and act) like a c*** naturally. Fender copies. Fair enough. Don't see the point though really. I know Vintange do some decent cheaper copies. Wouldn't get one of these expensive ones though. Most of them take batteries. f***ing hate batteries. I've stopped using pedals because of them.
Are you any good though?
16. The actual design of the body must have looked like something from another planet when they first came out.Fenders are a 50s design classic.
17. Bump for this terrific pedal, buy with confidence my 70s Bullit baxter turned up in 24hrs and is a really beautiful example of late 70s grange hill celebrity.Cheers JJTee.
18. Fender will still be around long after cort have dissapeared.
19. I think fender tend to look a lot cooler than sadowskys and sei,s which i personally think look a bit dinosaur glam rock. I have played a Sei and it was nice but way to expensive and i didnt like the way it looked, apart from the fact i dont want to be constantly concerned with marking the finish etc.Fender look just as good beaten up which i dont think brands like Sei and Sadowsky do.
20. Fender are a cultural icon, they are expensive for what they are. But so are harley davidsons.
21. Some guitars in the 60s and 70s had on board effects circuits,it never really caught on.
22. Zappa was amazing, the solo on zombie wolf is so sleazy, andy summers is the dogs, and nick drakes acoustic stuff is awesome, and the different tunings he used were beautiful.
23. There should be a rating somewhere in its guts, open it up and examine.
24. ooooh mince!
