1. It dependzz but i think it wont be to long befor macs are obsolete.Bill won just admit it.Even if vista is sh*t.
2. Dont let a couple of bad w***ers like that jake dude and your bad man ruin a good forum. And for jesus sake dont turn this place into ebay.We are better than that dudes.
3. Love this stuff,i think the internet killed a lot of things off, wish i had been old enough to play then.Any newcastle boys remember grott guitar and those 2 nutters who used to run it.Fantastic shop.
4. 68 Good year mate shame about barrett leaving floyd though.(Wish i had been 17 in 68)
5. Hi all.I am now dropping the price of my 98 Streamer S1 neck thru to 560 not including shipping.I think this is a bargain price for the bass. The hardware/bridge/knobs etc are newish untarnished and shiny no dull spots, the bass has a few tiny dings/rash but nothing obvious, usual powerful MEC electronics 18v and well looked after. Some american on the warwick forum was supposed to be buying it off me a month ago,but tried to lead me up the garden path, and the cash never showed(Luckily i hadnt sent the bass).I will be happy to meet up within reasonable distance of ipswich, otherwise if someone tells me the best insured postage deal we can do that.Anyway happy xmas and cheers for looking.Marcus.
6. Yeah good idea lets all have apples stamped on our heads,ok go get a mac there great! hope you are a graphic designer and the company pays for the computer and the software. Get a mac and once you have got bored of the limited expensive software and you have decided to learn a bit more about real computers but cant on one of these machines, blame these guys.(bloody hairdressers computers, lovely pastel shades though.)
7. Dont get a mac, they look pretty but your computer will have nothing in common with your mates, software will be harder to obtain/swap/borrow and if you just want an easy life with out constantly having to trawl around the net looking for things that are compatible with your computer get a p.c. honest.I dont know why everyone raves about garageband there are much better programs out there which are easy to use, sony acid, ableton live etc.
8. Napatha in otherwords lighter fluid is the best thing on fingerboards then make sure you lemon oil it.Dont get the lighter fuel on the finish though.
9. If anyone needs a private investigator im here.
10. I tend to incorporate my thumb into my picking technique, bernard edwards was a machine though.
11.
What sort of sounds do you get out of him?
Autumn type ones with strange tunings.
12. What does it sound like? would you be able to post some samples? Just curious.
13. I love playing funky choppy waccky wahwah guitar,i also like playing nick drake.
14.
I've got the Digitech JamMan model which is excellent. It's really easy to get a "Victa" style loop going & very controllable.
Can i load wav files/loops from my P.C. onto the jamman, anyone no? I know you can transfer from the jamman to the P.C. but what about vice versa.
15. I found bass clef quite easy once you know where your fingers go on the neck of the bass in relation to the dots, its not that much different from tab, learn scales/modes they are very important weapons in your playing cache, especially for coming up with new ideas.
16. The starting epic chords of the song remains the same by zep are a good example.
17. And i would have got away with it if it hadnt been for you pesky kids!
18. Wicked bass player ska,d for life his book was brill,he likes telecaster basses, but bought his precision from a man who made it stink of aftershave, long live horace panter.
19. To be honest i have never heard any body nail Norman Watt roy, extremely underated.
20. One of the most difficult bass lines i have ever flirted with,i am trying to slap teen town at the moment its working out easier.Watt roy had great feel.
21. Jaco was wicked, its not virturoso but my favourite bit by him is the bassline to i can dig it baby by little beaver, the bass line is pure simple sleazy soulful funk.
22.
Percy Jones was as much an influence to me as Jaco, as was Mick Karn but with totally different styles, technique and noises. I went to Barretts in Manchester in 81 to buy a new bass. I was going to get either a Jazz or a Wal because of the influence of Jaco and Percy. The Jazz was too expensive so I went for the Wal (£235.00) The assistant suggested I tried a Hofner which to my surprise was much better than the Jazz and the Wal and was a mere £218.00. Still got it minus its frets.... Pastorius and Hendrix certainly had interesting lives away from the stage, wish I had been with them to sample it
Yeah man,the brightest light burns twice as fast,Rock n f***in roll! thats why i started.
23. I love london and lived in bexley for a bit what an adventure! You will enjoy it more if you have lots of money though.Although im from newcastle one of the grandad youma,s was a proper "the krays cut me" cockney w***er,and he was wicked.
24. Bad f***in karma.Know the feeling mate,sympathy.
25. Jaco was a true artist and pioneer, alot of technical players these days are very impressive but just practice a lot and train there memory. Most of the greats Pastorius, hendrix, etc did not practice all the time they had an interesting non bass life as well.
