He didnt in the studio,im pretty sure it was watt-roy and siminon would play the guitar part of guns of brixton live while strummer played the bass part.As for magnificent 7 i dont reckon he could have nailed it live,ill download the bootleg now though as this has always been an argument i have wanted to defeat since i thought simmo looked so cool.

Be careful you need to try test bits first,or you will just get a yellow mark on your bass as the cellulose in the wood fibres mixes with the bleach.So deffo try some experimenting first.

I think it was joe strummer who played the bass for guns of brixton and and any of the funky stuff magnif 7/rock the casbah was watt-roy out the block heads,i was very dissapointed when i heard this as paul siminon did look the part.

No mate i think the synth is the gr you get the gk-2 pickup included,i sold my guitar synth about 2 years ago i think it was a gr-33 it was way cool i could play trumpet or sitar on my bass,or huge pads,wish id kept it now,it was great for freaking out the audience,bill bailey uses one on his part troll dvd.

get one of the roland guitar synths the smallest one is fairly cheap and you can use it to control a synth while you are playing guitar,you can program it to play a small phrase at the start of each chord you play or just a single bass note,they are great fun.

Its a bugger to learn at first theres a bloke on here does a full book of chic transcriptions i bought but it wont buy you bernard edwards technique,the muting is quite difficult.

Get a squire everyone knows em,decent quality and if you get bored you can always flog it and get a fairly good resale.

I miss newcastle accents and my home town.

Any band i join i always tend to take over anyway,so i have never really had many problems with other members.
