Surely they'd be stacked on a stage with his body laid on top, his band's drummer would launch a burning drumstick onto the pyre and off they go with him to that Great Gig In The Sky..... I can see the venue owners being a bit miffed afterwards but that's the way I'd want to go.....

What are you on about? It’s a cat, you numpty.....

I think it came down to the new software applying a “tastefulness” filter. Although the fact that Teebs’ selfie got through suggests that it was inverted by accident......

Handy that you both take the same size and that she was prepared to part with them.... 😁

Wait...what’s happened to my avat..... aaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhh! Phew, sorted......

The puns. Quite definitely the puns. With the exception of Bobthedog’s Uncle Vanya quip. That was classy. But we’re Romanov the topic.....

There are a load of great “practice” amps out there at the moment and an increasing range of features to help with practise. Do you want something with an aux input? Or a built in rhythm machine? Onboard effects? Headphone out, sure but what about footswitch control? i use a Fender G-Dec 15w guitar amp as my “quiet” practice amp. I never play loud enough to risk overwhelming the speaker with too much low end so I don’t really care that it’s meant to be for guitars - it goes plenty loud enough for me. it has an SD slot that allows you to load your own tracks to jam to, you can slow them down and alter pitch, play along with the supplied tracks as well as your own, play to the suppler drum MIDI or load your own, plus it has a bunch of onboard effects, a built in looper and an optional footswitch to control it all. They might even do a bass version now but I’d happily buy another one as it does everything I want a practise amp to do. There are others, of course - Roland, Vox and Line6 come to mind - so enjoy checking out the market!

I sold a Genz Benz Shuttle Max 12.0 to Huw. An easy, hassle-free transaction from start to finish. The price offered was fair and payment was prompt. As Huw was away for a few days, I posted to his work address but again, no hassle at all and he was kind enough to let me know this morning that he'd got the amp and everything was working properly. So, in summary, a nice easy transaction with another fine BCer. I wouldn't hesitate in dealing with Huw in the future. Thanks Huw, enjoy the amp!

I'll never understand women. Apparently, "oh do what you want and just bloody well get it" doesn't mean what it says..... Not when "it" is a Suzuki GSX-R

Only to your face...... 😀

A brilliant idea but what do we do about the poor unfortunates who are left handed? I guess you could stick them all into a group of their own..... This could work, y'know.....

Surely your best approach was outrage that she should be going through your stuff. This shows a lack of trust and you thought she was better than that, etc..... That way you get to do the sad, disappointed look.

PS is that a tiny Warwick on the wall at the top, or just a lot further away than the others?

Nice...... I’ve used a VM4 as my main gigging bass for years and I love it. The neck is, as you say, fantastic and I love the sounds it makes. They’re great instruments - and that one of yours is a real looker; white on white with black hardware has an air of class to it. I’ve been playing the Rick today but I think I’ll give the VM4 a blast tomorrow. Enjoy the new bass, may it serve you well!

Now sold. Starting listing at £375 which I think is fair but am open to reasonable offers so try me 😁. I'm selling the Genz Benz Shuttlemax which has been my back up amp since I bought it in from a fellow BCer back in 2014. In that time it's hardly been out of the gig bag and i don't actually remember ever gigging it... Why? Because my main gigging amp is a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 which has always been plenty loud enough for the gigs I've played and reliable enough that I've never needed to use its big brother. I've just fired it up to check it out and everything works. Genz have a reputation for quality and reliability and this is no exception. There was a little bit of crackling from one of the pots but that's disappeared as the pot has been turned through its travel. Now that's sorted it works perfectly and has an immense, clean sound through the FET channel and an equally big and very shapeable sound through the Tube channel. This is effectively two 600w amps with two preamp stages and one master volume. It goes from 300w into 8ohms to 1200w into two 4ohm (or 4 X 8 ohm cabs). At full chat, people in France start calling to complain! Overkill for me though so it should go. The amp comes with the power lead, footswitch and gig bag. The gig bag came to me with a bust zip and the faux leather on the handle has split and been bound with gaffer tape. The amp itself came with a couple of light scuffs on the top panel and a small mark on the front left corner - I've shown it in the pictures. I'm in Cleethorpes and you're welcome to come and try it out before going for a paddle and a donkey ride. Alternatively, I can package it securely and send by insured courier within the UK or I'm happy to meet somewhere mid-way. PM me to discuss options. As to trades - I’m not really looking for basses (well, maybe a nice light Precision) or cabs but there’s a world of other stuff that might just be of interest - pedals, preamps, recorders, etc - so let me know what you got. Thanks for looking. Any questions, please send me a PM.

You really wouldn't want to carry it very far but that really is lovely. I take it you were going for a bright, modern, scooped sound? 😀

Thanks, Jack. I'll take a look

Is it possible to use a generic latched footswitch with a GK MB amp or does it have to be the proprietary one supplied with the amp (but now vanished into thin air)? Alternatively, does anyone know where to get hold of one? Thanks 😁
