  5. Just got this in a trade, but decided to move it on,fantastic bass with a lot of tonal scope, can post for £20,or trade for another bass, with cash either way,it’s the 1st gen,so I don’t know how accurate the specs are compared to the 2nd gen Sire Marcus Miller V7 basses sound better and play smoother than ever before in the 2nd Gen range. This Vintage version has an old school F-style bridge with saddles that can be individually adjusted for the best intonation. The V7 is the flagship model for Sire guitars. The classic J bass styling features 2 advanced single coil pickups with a full EQ control, allowing you to mould your perfect sound. It's also extremely easy for a beginner to pick up and play thanks to the comfortable modern neck shape. New features The focus of the upgrade has been to improve the sound of the Vintage. Marcus Miller worked alongside Sire to redesign the pickups with stronger magnets and coils to deliver a cleaner and deeper tone. You'll hear a big difference in the sound balance when comparing version two and the original. The pickups will also feature a printed logo. One other cosmetic change is the pickguard, which is also installed on five-string basses as well as four string. Body and Neck The V7 Vintage has either an Alder body that adds darker tones and warmth, or a Swamp Ash body which is known for its brightness. A Hard Maple neck offers excellent stability and is topped by a Maple fingerboard. This provides your tone with crisp higher frequencies. History of Sire Marcus Miller Basses Sire guitars are the company that build the now famous Marcus Miller basses. Marcus Miller himself is a world-renowned jazz and funk bassist with some of the best bass chops on the planet. And he's worked with Sire instruments to make basses that are affordable but far exceed their price point in terms of feel, style and above all, sound. How do they do this? Unlike a lot of other guitar companies that outsource their work, Sire own the factory where their basses are built. This means cheaper production and full control over the quality of instrument from start to finish. Sire instruments are doing the world a bit of good by taking a share of the corporate profits and giving back to society. They founded schools in Cambodia and Laos to teach children’s music lessons. Here's what Sire say about the Marcus Miller V7 Vintage: The Sire preamp is a perfect example representing our technology and philosophy integrated into our instruments. With multiple tone controls, you have total command in finding and getting the sound you want. The use of 18v battery enables the player to attain unaltered natural sound with a strong and powerful output. With 3 band EQ, the player can have versatility in sound that can be suited for all occasions of music sessions. All models come with the option of active and passive settings. Even in the passive mode, volume, tone, pickup balancer is fully functional, giving the player more controls for the tone in any mode. Jazz Bass Type Jazz bass type is the industry standard bass model with its signature vintage sound. This is an all-round bass that is suitable for fingering, slap and all techniques and style of playing. With both classic and modern feel and design, this new bass can produce the desired sound for any genres of music from funk to metal. One Piece Hard Maple Neck The neck is made with one-piece Canadian hard maple. With its strength, it decreases movement and stabilizes the neck to maintain the original shape and condition. The neck minimizes the loss of vibration and maximizes the tone-sustain. 6. fender USA Precision Plus Deluxe 1992. Early 1992 fender precision plus deluxe bass.pretty rare bass, and only produced for 2 years in the early 90s,lace sensor pickups and an active EQ,strung with a fresh set of flats, very versatile bass, can post for £20,condition is pretty good for the age,3 dings, all Electronics work fine and the truss rod turns, and it’s pretty light as well, might trade for another fender with cash either way depending on what you have, any questions please ask and I’ll do my best to answer The Precision Bass Plus Deluxe does not have a pick-guard. The Plus Deluxes also have active EQ, so there will be a battery as well. The jack will be on the lower bout, not on the pick-guard. This is the forerunner of today's American Deluxe Precision which replaced it in the line-up in July 1995. The Plus and the Plus Deluxe shared premium Schaller manufactured hardware similar to the Elite versions that came out during the waning days of Fullerton except for the 5 string versions which got Gotoh bridges instead of Schaller. The Precision Plus and Plus Deluxe were the creation of George Blanda who also designed Plus versions of the Jazz Bass. Blanda was the senior designer at Fender during this period and did some rather drastic mods on the instruments to compete with other high end designs from other companies. The Blanda redesigns were more innovative than anything Fender had done since the 1957 P-Bass and the 1960 introduction of the "Deluxe" Bass which we now know as the Jazz Bass. The Elite basses of the early 80's were super high quality versions too, but the basic design of the instruments were unaltered on any Elite series. The Plus was a new design.
