1. The green one? Boss Slicer.
2. I've been using a Bass Max into a Fishman Plat Pro EQ into my BG amp (Hartke head, Schroeder 1212) and from there DI'd to FoH. So far I haven't had any problems with feedback, it's not exactly a pure DB sound I'm getting but it's near enough for what we do.
3.
Pop Will Eat Itself (Box Frenzy is a classic album)
Bless PWEI they were great fun. Clint Mansell now has a massive fan base for his soundtrack stuff too.
4. If you can afford an Alembic you can probably afford a distortion pedal. I think that explains that.
5. Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane Sabbath - Iron Man Motorhead - Killed By Death Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg - Nuthin But A G Thang
6.
I don't like to balance basses on stands for any lenght of time,
Mine sort-of "rest" on their stands rather than balancing, maybe you're doing it wrong? So far I've found guitar stands to be completely safe but in fairness I have only been using them for 20 years or so.
7.
this looks quite sweet for the money... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PREAMP-mixer-head-ph...=item35a906fb70
"... each one is checked INDIVIDUALY". Hopefully by someone with better attention to detail than that.
8. Yeah he's a top player but come on man there's not a video on YouTube that doesn't have some retard trolling it.
9. Would probably be easier to find someone who looks like Adam Clayton (begin the search in a school humanities department and it shouldn't take too long), then spend an afternoon teaching him to play bass guitar to the required standard.
10.
Why is this a bass specific pedal exactly? Its just a semi parametric eq, so why the bass reference....
I imagine Boss thought bass players had more need/desire for a parametric EQ pedal, but there's no reason why you couldn't use it on any signal.
11. Bit pricey though.
12. Love the sound of your tunes. I'm miles away unfortunately or I'd love to do it. I'm surprised nobody's bitten your hand off yet.
13.
Watch some more of the videos explaining it on youtube, there are over 20 different takes on the concept (IIRC) which change over 20 different parameters in the model (that you cant access from the knobs), you then get a bunch of front panel controls over each one.
I tend to find that, given a range of modelled effects, I will only end up using one or two of them, because I think they are the best-sounding ones. Whenever I come into contact with Line 6 gear, for example, this is my experience. You could bundle a hundred or a thousand filter models into the same box but nobody would actually use them. The only benefit is that the chances of you liking some sound that the thing makes increases. But once you find that sound you won't use the others. Which is why I would rather find a good filter that I think sounds good that also has a ton of functional versatility - not just envelope control. As opposed to a giant box full of envelope-following filters, most of which I don't like, that don't do anything else.
14.
In 25 years I've never needed an Allen key at a gig. What on earth do you use them for?
I used to have a USA Jazz bass. Trust me if you'd ever owned one of those you'd be in the habit of taking a set of allen keys to every gig.
15. I wish Lynval Goulding was my dad. What a guy.
16. They are really tacky though. I feel like I'm hanging out with a bunch of Sun readers these days.
17. I like hanging out with my band they're good company, and I think the songs are really good so I enjoy playing them to people, and it's good exercise isn't it? I need that at my age.
18. 4 guitar cables 2 kettle leads 2 speaker cables (I only use one cab) 2 mic cables sm58 allen keys screwdrivers soldering iron + solder DB preamp batteries strings (currently 1xEB 100-45, 1xLa Bella FL760s) notepad pens bag of Dunlop 1mm picks kazoo + wire mount for kazoo box of plasters probably other stuff I've forgotten about
19. I think if you're going to develop a CMS it seems silly to limit your potential market to just small-time bands, who are likely to be always skint anyway.
20. Hey thanks man, very kind of you.
21. I had a student years ago who had a P Lyte, it didn't sound bad to my ears. Are you after a particular sound that it doesn't do? Who are you listening to / whose sound would you rather have? Also it's worth asking what amp/cabs you're using. Maybe it's putting out more grunt than your amplification can reproduce?
22.
eh?
SRSLY. Get a bass that you look cool wearing, it's more important than what it sounds like. Unless you're in Rush or something, which you aren't, because that skinny Canadian geezer is in Rush.
23. Feedback welcome, they're on our MySpace page at the moment: http://www.myspace.com/copaseticska We tracked all four tunes in a day so they are rough around the edges, and they were recorded about a month after we'd started rehearsing them, so they have become more sophisticated live since then.
24. I don't normally like slap playing but you have real energy in your performances, it's infectious! That Sandberg is a sweet looking bass too.
25. Ah I meant to come see your band when you played Stereo in York earlier this year, this just reminded me. Bugger! Nice stuff. Will have a proper listen later.
