1.
I play in a band called Soviet Disco. There's four of us in the band and we're all from Redcar/Marske in Teesside.
The OFT will be hearing about this!
 2. I've always thought that piece needed more buzzing and rattling sounds and slightly iffy pitch.
 3.
A mistake you made
Class.
 4. I'm a bit like you - I think I'd rather retire than spend my middle age doing cover bands. I'd no doubt still keep basses around though, just because I like to pick them up and noodle on them. But yeah I don't have kids and I'm not married so I'm not struggling to find time for doing a band. I can understand it's probably a bit of a toil in your situation.
 5. Yeah it makes my thumb hurt too. I think this is normal. Or we're pressing too hard.
 6. Claypool would smoke those cheesy fusion chumps any day of the week and look cool doing it.
 7.
I guess you could say though that if the nut is made of the same material as the fret, that the voicing of the open note would be closer to the fretted notes? Just a thought!
Nah it's not really, you can still hear the difference with open strings. A zero fret, on the other hand...
 8. I managed 2:30 this time, which is a PB for me and YouTube videos of bass solos. But only because I couldn't quite believe that what I was watching was real. I've already filed him under talented people I'm jealous of.
 9.
The hex bolt head is perfectly normal for Warwick basses, they don't all have but it isn't uncommon. Do you need the locks?
Yeah they would handy. What do you want for them?
 10. When I can get someone round to play it for you, I'll record my DB. Or alternatively you can give me a few more months, I am still trying.
 11. I'm happy to use Ashdown gear if that's what I'm told to use. I don't like the controls on their amps but never had any complaints about the sound they make.
 12. I suppose you could always get it re-housed if you were going to tour it or whatever.
 13. Pickup covers are the bass equivalent of this.
 14.
You don't have any muscles in your fingers,
Peanuts, outside, now.
 15.
If I took the hump every time someone said how ugly they think coffee-table basses are, I'd never get the damn thing out of its case. If Ped got upset everytime someone took the piss out of his cheese-eating surrender bass, he'd never come here. It's all part of the rough and tumble.
I keep my Warwick well polished to stop the tears from soaking in. You're all meanies.
 16.
Stick an image up here and I'll double check if it is the same as the strap buttons that I have available.
They are exactly like the studdy part in this photo. The screw holding them in appears to have a hex bolt head rather than a normal screw head. Weird.
 17.
edit - the only criticism i can think of so far is that the plastic dials don't look paricularly robust compared to other pedals.
Yeah plastic always sets alarm bells ringing with me too. What's the case made out of? That looks like plastic too.
 18. Muscle memory is unavoidable so whether it's good or bad is pretty irrelevant. But I'd vote for "good", generally. If you're inexperienced then of course you'll have trouble playing something in a way that you haven't rehearsed, that's normal and I'm sure your teacher is aware that it's normal. Don't worry about it.
 19. I dont' think it's intended to be "natural"-sounding, really. It's more a competitor for stuff like the WMD Geiger Counter, Subdecay Noisebox, Prunes & Custard, etc. If all you need is a traditional fuzz then save your money and just get a Big Muff (or clone).
 20.
Does your Thumb bass have the Schaller strap pins installed or does it have standard flared strap pins? If it is a NT Thumb then it should have the locking pins in which case you just need the bits for the strap,
Haha. I'd never looked properly before but yes the pins are the Schaller ones that mate to their locking slide-on bit thingy. I'd always just assumed they were normal flared strap buttons.
 21. 2U is fine, there's no vents on the top or bottom of an LH-500.
 22.
All well and good, but I notice you keep yours under a tree in the garden. Is that because it's too ugly to be allowed in the house? Personally I'd have put a bag over it so the tree doesn't get upset.
It moves a little nearer the composter each day.
 23. If I see something I like the look of and it's comfortable and plays nice I'll have it. I don't really care if it's brand new or it has a few dings, but if there's signs of neglect (like big holes in the finish or dings in the back of the neck or something) I wouldn't expect to be paying a lot. I would never buy an expensive new bass though, I'd be too scared of knocking it against stuff. So in a way I prefer to buy used basses. Not necessarily "pre-ruined" but not showroom either. Let someone else deal with the depreciation.
 24.
I really feel for you man, but thought it cruelly ironic that you first picture posted said "attached thumbnail(s)".
Hahaha.
 25.
If you're interested its www.myspace.com/backyardbully1 or www.backyardbully.com and here's the Terratron video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el0PcqQNnjA Feedback appreciated cheers....
Nice. Have to have a proper listen a bit later.
