2.
Welcome to the UK fella..where if you are talented,we bitch about it and slag you off behind your back!!...We will never be as good, nor will we try..
Maybe you'll have more success when you stop thinking of music as a competition.
 3.
Grunge, bar Jeff Ament, didnt throw up many Bass heros, and most of the laughably bad musicians did the decent thing and dont seem to be in music any more (Cobain did the right thing IMHO)......
Kurt Cobain wrote some great songs, Bleach is a brilliant record, he was a proper rock star. I'm not going to bad-mouth Billy Sheehan because he seems like he means well even though he's thick enough to take on board sci-fi fairy stories as religion, but to declare that Kurt Cobain should've killed himself because '80s hair rock was replaced by grunge is a really dickless thing to say.
Can I just add,and Ive seen it on other threads the dislike of anything called 'Progressive'...May I say to the anti-'capable' musicians here you have the same problem too...its just called 'Post.....'
I'd prefer it if "progressive" music was from now on referred to as "regressive", given that it's a musical style from the 1970s. I think some of the "elitist" musicians here should stop whining that their apparently-not-so-valuable instrumental skills aren't as appreciated in the way they'd like them to be, stop blaming other people for it, grow a pair of balls and get on with making music like everybody else is doing.
 4.
If I was expecting full MIDI implementation down to low B then yes it was a duffer. However, I knew that would not be on so I was pleasantly surprised that it did what I expected it to do without overly having to modify my technique. Again, no use really beneath the 7th fret, but then we all knew that was was going to be the case.
Wow, nice one. One question: I've noticed with a lot of software that tracks your playing, often when you release a note it can pull slightly sharp for a moment (which sounds especially awful if you've got a long release phase on the sound you're using). Does this do that? I thought I could hear it slightly on that guitar demo vid and I figure it'd be more noticeable on bass.
 5.
WTF! Weak singer?? Weaker singer than Van Halen??? Please tell me that you're not being serious!
Well he's no Biz Markie.
 6.
That one went to a European, Warwick endorsee some time ago.
Good luck getting a decent price for this one anyway. Incidentally I spotted a '91 Thumb on eBay last week that went for just over £1100, and it ultimately sold to the guy I bought my '91 Thumb off five years ago (but I paid considerably less than that!). So maybe word is getting out now about how good these basses are.
 7.
The 'Jazz' basses have all been snapped up but as usual the usual apathy toward all things Warwick!
If it was your orange one I'd be putting my girlfriend on the game to raise the cash.
 8. That is a massive board. Was it a custom built case?
 9. Shame it can't do gated sounds, it looks like a cool design. Looks like I'm sticking with the Mammoth.
 10.

Do you think he was eating a Lion bar when he sketched that one?
 11.
Same thing happens in visual art, which is my field. People making art about art for people who make art.
I suppose it's because the more abstract art movements are so famously rebellious and resulted in so much internalised backslapping. Everybody seeks the admiration of their peers in some way. It's a difficult line to walk though, if you're trying to satisfy both your own artistic bent and the tastes of the average consumer. Which, incidentally, I don't think is a bad angle to shoot for. I can imagine a lot of you would disagree. I don't think taking reference from historical music is necessarily a bad thing, and I don't see how you could avoid it without avoiding your medium altogether. Aping it is a different story.
 12. It seems to me that most forms of music from the mid- 20th century are dead now - why should Jazz be any different? It's still there to borrow from and inform though, like all those other dead styles of music, which is great. What more is there to say, really?
 13.
That looks like a standard toggle switch to me - should be no probs picking one up from Maplins or somewhere similar. A pretty easy fix i reckon....
If anyone's planning to do this repair: Don't dawdle making your solder joints. Too much heat destroys those little SPDT switches quite quickly. I loved my old Pickle Pie B. Great Muff-a-like and super compact.
 14.
I hear they're great, but I wouldn't have a clue where to find one apart from on eBay.
There currently is one on eBay - I think that's why the thread got started. I promise not to bid on it though. Good luck, OP.
 15.
It's the only way to ensure they stay put. Unless anyone can enlighten me otherwise?
What are you using on the Prunes & Custard and the X-Blender? Why not use that on the others?
 16. Well they brought 90210 back, I suppose they'll be needing music for it. I suppose it could also go on a compilation CD released in time for Fathers Day, or one of those Jeremy Clarkson driving music CDs.
 17.
you could give the EBS Octabass a try. It tracks much better than a Boss OC2.
In my experience they track about as well as eachother. Actually all the analogue sub-octave generators I've used had practically identical tracking performance. I'd say the EBS is only worth the extra dough if you prefer its sound. I didn't. As for the Ampeg pedal, I've only ever heard it with guitar through it, and I can't remember whether you can solo the synthesised note or whether it always blends in your original guitar note. Might be worth a punt anyway, they certainly do look cool I'll agree with you on that.
 18. How does that XP-100 perform, esp. with the octave pitch bends? I'm thinking about getting either one of those or the Whammy IV.
 19. For £80 it's worth a go even if it will only track above the 12th fret.
 20.
Tried putting something on top of the switch bit inside so its a fraction taller on the bust ones?
To be honest I haven't tried anything, it's mostly my OC-2 that is temperamental, and it's usually in a loop so I don't need to switch it on and off. It might just be a dirty switch. Anyway enough hijacking of the for-sale thread. Sorry, OP.
 21.
plays itself
OMG PM'd.
 22.
Footswitch is in perfect order, and I'll wait to see what other offers come through first.
Yeah it seems everybody's Boss switches work fine except the ones I end up with - which is why I always ask now.
 23. I'll give you £50 for the OC-2 if the footswitch is still in good functional order (no stepping on it a dozen times to get it to toggle on/off).
 24.
What's best - or does it depend on the string?
The "best" string height is a matter of personal taste, really. Some people like to jack the strings up quite high to get a very clear tone, some people like to hear more fret rattle than note. Most people prefer somewhere inbetween, where fret rattle can't really be heard when the bass is amplified but the strings are nice and low and easy to play. As for the intonation adjustment: It's either correct or it isn't. If the open strings are in tune but notes higher up the neck on certain strings sound out of tune, then your intonation is probably not set correctly.
 25. I think you want a Rick for that gig. See if you can find a purple spangly Rick anywhere.
