1. Neat bass. Has it been converted to a 5? Looks like a tight fit getting all those strings on there.
2.
In my efforts to address this, I've gone through one Jazz bass, one custom and now a Sandberg thinking it must be the guitar but it has made no difference..
Yeah. If you'd changed bands you might have noticed an improvement. You're getting right up into guitar and voice territory and there's much more competition for frequencies in that range.
3. If you're thinking about whether you've played too much or too little then all you really know is you've played something you're not happy with. Taste is difficult to learn and even more difficult to quantify.
4. I stopped taking OSX updates when they started dropping features required for my 2- or 3-year-old peripherals. Very bad form. They also broke my version of ProTools with 10.7, so I'm sticking with 10.7 because I don't want anything else to stop working.
5. Oh man good point I'll take it out, even the light takes a while to reach me from the fridge.
6. Anyone know what the speed of sound is in blancmange? The blancmange is in Yorkshire if that's important.
7.
What bass is the simplest route to the classic Stingray sound?
That whole assertion about there being no stupid questions has just failed QA.
8. This shouldn't still be here. The Corvette Prolines are IMHO the best bolt-ons Warwick ever made.
9. I had really swollen tendons in both wrists a couple of years back and it took a long time to recuperate. I also use a computer all day at work and one thing that has helped immensely is getting rid of my mouse and replacing it with an Apple trackpad. I hardly have to move my right hand at all to do all the usual mouse stuff, plus I'm not having to holding/pinch anything and I can keep my wrist straight the whole time. It's a really great little peripheral for minimising stress on your wrist.
10. Ace.
11. A singer/guitarist I'm playing with regularly at the moment is very fond of Ab, but it's easily my least favourite key on DB. :/
12. Hey man. I remember the original seller said that this prototype bass had an issue with the truss rod but I don't see it mentioned in your listing. Did you get it fixed?
13. I've done a few gigs where I didn't get booed. OK, I've done two. One of them, only my girlfriend turned up.
14. TPJ very kindly loaned me his Hurley a while back when I was complaining about the sound of my Bass Max. To my ears it had a similar sound (I imagine all wing-slot piezos have a similar sound) but it wasn't as awfully honky as the Bass Max.
15. Also, if you don't already on bass guitar, use your fingertips, and try to avoid barring notes. It will make your intonation much easier.
16.
As Artisan said, if you're going to amplify the bass it makes very little difference what it's made of
Depends how you amplify it.
17. I gigged an SVTIII for a couple of years, never really did it for me. But if money was no object I would have a B15.
18. Looks lovely. I've never had a 4/4 - what's the speaking length of the string on this one?
19. Personally I can't find anything special in that performance but then I never dug that band and I never cared for that song, so maybe it's just me. It's good that it's inspired strong feelings in other people though. Although you could say that about lots of records. I'm trying to be polite though!
20. Happy birthday mate, hope you're enjoying it. And I hope I look as young as you when I'm 50.
21. Only just seen this but thanks Daf. I have taken the Slaps off and put them back on again half expecting them to pop but they were fine, so I was assuming it was something to do with the construction. Great strings.
22. Cool bass. Definitely see a tutor to make sure you're using good technique, and concentrate on doing it right until it becomes second nature, it will improve your tone and make accurate intonation easier, as well as keeping your wrists healthy.
23. And again. Gig in a small pub with a small PA, no monitoring, but from what little I could hear of myself I could hear my intonation clearly thanks to the Ehrlund. Again, lots of compliments on the sound of the bass. Not the quality of the playing - the sound of the bass!
24. The Peavey sounds ideal actually, ta. :-)
25. A BMS-like filter, an ADSR envelope generator, can't think off any more this morning, which is a good thing...
