5. You could do a lot worse than this - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=27910 Great price as well for a great bit of kit
  6.
Sorry, I was quite nonsensical last night. What I meant was, while it's true that there are better portable rigs, there are none better that you can fit in your pocket, and/or at this price point. By 'if you want to get pedantic', I meant 'Being pedantic', because I am most of the time when it comes to preamps and converters - looking at the post now, you may have the impression I was calling you a pedant, so my apologies, I wasn't.
No worries man I'm not denying that this is a great bit of kit, cos it is, and it's also tiny, so the performance to size ratio is amazing. I was just calling into the question the bold statement at the start of the thread (and probably getting a bit pedantic ); although there is most likely nothing out there at this size and price that's of better quality, there are other larger portable solutions on the market that are...that's another thread anyway... Bottom line is that this is a great bit of kit that's ridiculously small and portable.

  10. so how do we go about this then? Does anyone know anything about publishing/designing something like this? Just thinking that there’s not much of the year left so we’d have to get a shift on if they were going to be ready for shipping out to people before Christmas/new year…
  11.
sadly, I would get some serious "care bear stares" if I were to turn up to play in church with that on my headstock...
it would be funny though...for about 20 seconds

  14.
If you want to get pendantic, you can include Prism, Lavry, Weiss, and the mighty Forsell, but it really depends on your interpretation of 'portable!' - because nothing I've mentioned (and i think nothing in current manufacture/reasonable price range) is smaller than 1U!!
I don’t understand what you’re getting at mate?
  15. saw this and laughed - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JIZZ-BASS-DECAL-FUN-...id=p3286.c0.m14

Due to pent up GAS for a Jazz and a bit of DIY, I’m putting my Takamine G Series EG512C acoustic bass up for sale in order to fund it. I could never get along with acoustic basses until I played this - It’s a great player and sounds fantastic when plugged in. The bass has a couple of very minor dings but is in an all round good condition. It comes with a rugged “Rok Sak” gig bag, so due to this I would prefer a collection in person, but I will post if required (well packaged in the gig bag but at the buyers risk). Looking for £210 (or £225 posted) or some kind of trade for a Jazz neck (maple with block inlays preferred, but will consider any quality necks – unbranded or “Fender” only) or an un-routed natural Jazz body (flamed maple preferred, but again, I will consider anything – who was selling Jazz bodies on here before?) That’s all folks
  24. £95 for the EMG JVs and the OBP-3 with all the pots? - have the pots been soldered on? What kind of condition are the pickups in? Could be very interested…
