2.
Feeling somewhat in the firing line here...
A build diary is a build diary mate. I can’t f***ing wait to see some pics of yours coming along nicely
 3.
Move back down Pompey, get a GB from Bad Bernie 60 miles up the road, lie. Plausible deniability mate. I'll look after it for ye n'all.
tempting... I know if I step inside that place and play a few things then I'll be leaving with something. Plausible deniability or not, I'd get a girlfriend shaped foot in my arse when I tell her that I can’t pay this months rent EDIT: I wouldn’t mind bankrupting myself for this though -
 4.
Switched it on last night and almost no volume even with everything turned up full. Only got it in July Not happy :-(
Warranty? Where did you get it from, and was it new? What model is it?
 5. I'd be very interested in one of these at the sort of prices that are being talked about. I shall have to do some thinking and spec something up...
 6. yeah they do look pretty cool for a stool. Quite expensive though.
 7.
PMed.
I was there about an hour and a half ago…get in the queue
 8. My Dad goes away on business within Europe at least once every 2 weeks (he works for a company operating within the European Space Agency) and he brings back the free toiletries from the hotels he's stayed in and puts them in a bag, then every couple of months he takes a full bag down to a homeless shelter. They’re always very grateful. Maybe do that instead of binning them if no one wants them?
 9.
. . . on the plus side: http://www.josephpurcell.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/rawbody2.jpg Looks beautiful.
That is going to look immense with a trans black finish
 10.
I went to pay for my bass on my credit card a week ago when the rate was 1.72 USD to GBP. My bank held the payment (to protect me against fraud) and by the time they've managed to call me to tell me, to "approve" this transaction the rate's fallen to 1.68 and my bass is now costing me another £100. Thanks HSBC.
Stitch up  1.68 seems a bit stingy though - I think today’s lowest conversion is around 1.70, and some banks are giving as much as 1.71
 11. Cheers for advice guys, I'm looking at a few options as we speak...may not commit to buying until I am slightly more financially secure though ...but what might happen is that I'll get pissed one night and come in and buy a f***ing Sei or Sadowsky Jazz on the credit card (cue instant decapitation from the girlfriend…)
 12.
I'm open to reasonable offers.
Reasonable being...?
 13. damn...can't believe you're having this much trouble selling this mate  I'm sure there's a couple of people out there who are GASing for some multi-effects action...resistance is futile
 14. could be interested...what kind of price do you have in mind? Are you interested in any trades?
 15.
The Geddy Lee is without a doubt the most comfortable 4 string neck I've ever played! If I was buying another Jazz, I'd have it replicated by a luthier, it's that good!
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of people rave about the Geddy Lee neck. Do you know if you can buy one (or a replica) from somewhere like AllParts?
 16. I’ve been after a nice Jazz for a while but I’m on a budget and don’t want to spend a lot, so I’ve been thinking about putting one together myself. Basically I’m after a bit of advice. What is the best Jazz neck to go for? From AllParts I’ve got the impression that there are bloody loads of possibilities - http://www.allparts.com/store/necks-bass-necks,Category.asp Preferably I’m after a maple Jazz neck (birdseye if I can afford to stretch to it), and for it to be as narrow and thin as possible. Suggestions? (remember the part about being on a budget...) As an aside, feel free to discuss Jazz necks in general, as I’d also be very interested to hear people’s opinions on what were/are the best Jazz necks on Fenders past and present.
 17. A build diary is a build diary, whether that be a pro/commercial build or a DIY in your own garage type build doesn’t really make a difference…it is a diary of your instrument being built to your individually customised specifications. I prefer looking through the ‘amateur’ build threads though because for me they’re more inspiring and actually relate more directly to me, rather than £3k+ pro jobs (but I like looking at the pics ). I’d actually like to see more build diaries of effects units cos I know quite a few people on here are into that kind of thing (whether that be kits or a complete DIY job, I don’t care, it’s all good fun). I can see what the OP is getting at, but I don’t really agree with the sentiment. However, as the forum expands, maybe there is a case for a few 'Build Diary' sub-forums if people start posting more threads in this section?
 18. I’ve been using the UL310 for a couple of months and it’s great. I almost laughed when I picked it up for the first time. Just the weight of the thing sold it to me, but the fact of the matter is that it’s also a fantastic sounding cab with as much power handling as a lot of us are ever going to need (750W…I think). I’m using mine with a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 (ridiculously light rig) which kicks out 600W @ 4ohms – It’s more than I’m likely to ever need and tone wise it’s great – quite a versatile little thing. I went from an Ampeg all valve rig to this lightweight set up and for me it was definitely the right move. As a couple of others have mentioned, consider the Schroeder 1212L as well, as these are also great cabs and significantly cheaper than the Epifani ones.
 19.
If i had the income i think this would compliment my V4 nicely! We shall see what i have left over when ive paid off al my debts!
That’s the sensible view on things. I should really take a leaf out of your book Great price for a fully flightcased cab IMO. Have a cheeky 18” {:brow:}bump…
I'm intrigued to which bass has stupid electronics? All basses are fairly simple in operation aren't they? The only bass that comes to mind with an out of the ordinary operation are those new Enfields (although I'm reserving judgement til I have seen them at Bass Day) and the inconvienience of those Alembics with the special break out boxes...?
+1 It doesn’t really take much longer than 5 mins twiddling to get to grips with the most complicated on-board electronics.
 21.
Someone should email the seller and ask.
His disappointingly vague ebay description would lead me to believe that this would be nothing more than a waste of time
 22. if anyone would like to sell me a Sterling for around £500 then I'll happily take it off your hands
 23.
Has it got frets?
I wouldn’t mind the lack of frets if I could be sure it was an alder body
