1. I think the darker one is a lot nicer mate
  2.
Yes. That or (less likely) a sloppy refin.
+1 My understanding of this is that it’s more common on cheap copies. I’ve never seen it on an actual Fender though, weather that be MIM, MIA, MIJ (CIJ) etc, but I could be wrong.

    Dilemma

For me personally it's got to feel right before anything else. There's no point having a lovely sounding bass if it's a complete bitch to play, but then there's no point having a bass that plays itself if it sounds like a fart in a tin can. I guess you’ll have to weigh up the pros and cons of both and decide what will ultimately be more beneficial to you. Do you think you’d get used to the “stupidly complicated electronics” of the one that feels great, or do you think you’ll get around the feel of the one that sounds great? For me I’d probably wait till I found one that does both, but that’s only because I think I’m in a good place bass wise at the moment (cue the GAS...). Each to their own though – you pays your money, you takes your choice…
  4. I’d bloody love this, but I just can’t justify it at the moment. If my girlfriend saw another bass being delivered then she would actually lose her mind…(I’ve been trying to think if I’d be able to convince her that it’s the Thumb BO that I sold a month ago [I don’t think she’s worked out that I sold it – I didn’t tell her just in case…] )
  5. yeah i think he tried to sell this before - i remember seeing an EBS 15" cab on ebay with a hole in the driver about a week ago...it wouldnt take a lot to replace the driver though.
  6. It’s just a bit of exhibitionism…what’s the issue? We all know a certain Mr MK who is more guilty of gratuitous displays of exhibition style slap techniques than any other player on the planet…not as good as Wooten though
  7.
You just want to go home for the AC Milan game innit mush?
well i saw inter a few years ago...
  8.
How do you leave something that size on a bus, if it was left on a bus and didn't fall off the back of it.
I left a bigish gig bag on a train once, there was nothing in it though...you've got to have a couple of screws loose to leave 2 new basses on a bus though
  9. anyone have a link to the original video? I've just stumbled across this thread...
  10. This ended up selling for £87 posted on ebay, good result I think

    Feedback for Josh

Recently bought a SSII off Josh (I finally found your thread mate ) and he was an absolute gent to deal with. Even when it looked like there may have been an issue with some slight warping of the neck, he actually offered to fully pay for any work that would have to be done on it. Fantastic communication and an all round top geezer - highly recommended Cheers for everything man
  12.
Paid for some P-bass knobs 2 months ago still haven't got them and my PM's are not being renurned. Hate to give bad feedback but I have no choice.
I can’t believe this wasn’t sorted out after so long mate I’ve seen Steve around BC… I don’t want to start throwing sh*t around as I wasn’t intending on mentioning it anyway, but I feel that what’s happened to Wayne isn’t an isolated incident. I had to wait over 3 weeks (may have been 4, I can’t remember) for the entirety of the stuff that I'd bought off Steve (which I'd paid top dollar for) to turn up, and he had promised he had put it in the post for me long before they actually turned up. I did eventually get what had been promised though…
  13. Nice I don't want to do this to myself, however, do you have a cash price in mind?
  14. Yeah I've used Foulds a few times over the last 3 years. Always great customer service and they'll let you play around with anything you want if you ask nicely, but they tend not to cater for anything at the top of the bass market. Limited selection of bass strings as well. Nice selection of pianos though...
  15.
here's mine: Genz Benz Shuttle with an EBS Neo212 that weighs about 24kg.
looks like it's floating in mid-air good to see another Shuttle rig.

  17.
Mine's heavier than an anvil.
that's why it's all about Streamers
  18.
I notice the Christian fish at the 9th fret.
+1 I wouldn't buy it because of that. Other than that, it looks like a potentially amazing bass for £500ish.
  19. were they just tuning up or actually playing something?
  20.
on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130258922946 :(:(
Just out of interest, how many BC members are watching this on ebay at the moment? The only reason I ask is because I have a rather high number of watchers for this at the moment and I want to get a proper idea of how many of them might actually bid.
  21.
Man, that bass is ug-leeee!
you could even say it's fugly I think it sounds really good with those strings though but he ruined the impact of the arrangement by flooding it with a ridiculously long decaying reverb (IMO), but that’s just a production issue. I think what he’s done with it is good though, I couldn’t do that.
  22. eeeeeeeaaaaaasy on the reverb matey!! apart from that, it's alright
  23.
My opinion is that its best to keep your powder dry & put my maximum bid in with about two seconds to go.
That’s pretty much my ebay game plan as well. It's been a while though...
  24.
Why should I PM? It's hardly a trade secret that no-one can shift Warwicks in the UK at the mo. I should know as I have two Glad you picked yours up in a flightcase for £700 too - as you posted in another thread.
You should have PM’d him about pricing issues out of courtesy instead of questioning it in his for sale thread. A perspective buyer may now change their decision to buy the bass at the advertised price due to the content of your comment, and the owner of the bass is entitled to ask for the price he wants regardless of the current sale trends on used bass guitars. If you were truly concerned for him that he may be holding out for an unachievable price then you should have sent him a PM, as apposed to posting a public comment for all perspective buyers to see. Regardless of etiquette, it doesn’t take more than a few brain cells to work this one out. Your quite right about me getting my SSII for the price I did, but that was in a thread where someone was enquiring about the value of their own bass so I was offering information regarding the price of a bass that I had recently acquired, therefore giving a picture of current sales trends – quite a different situation than this FOR SALE thread.
