...I find if you dont want to get 'Attitude' in a shop, look them square in the eye,ask questions, have a 'Spot the bullshit' question (Mines Tulipwood on Luthiers) and dress well..being a scruffy cnut aint gonna get anyones attention..there are exceptions, but if you look like you have cash, then they will kiss your arse and call it ice cream
If you have to look like you have cash to get any attention, then f***’em, I’ll spend my cash elsewhere. You’re walking into their shop with the potential of being a big spender, whether you look it or they know it or not. You wouldn’t get discriminated against in a car showroom or Dixons under the same principles, so why should you in a music shop? In all honesty, what proper muso isn’t a scruffy cnut anyway?

Is it just me that isn’t too keen on it?
If and when we get a response here from Music Ground, can I humbly suggest that no one leaps straight in to flame the guy?
Definitely. There’s no point in ranting to someone from Music Ground who has come on here to give their point of view when it would have been very easy for them to ignore us. I’d have a lot more respect for the company if someone did come on here to either try to resolve the bitterness that many of us have developed with the Bass Cellar’s apparent lack of customer service, or give their perspective of the discussion and try to somehow justify it. Keeping it civil should be a priority though.

This thread is interesting, but very one sided. I’d never be one to stick up for the Bass Cellar, but I’m agreeing with the “right of reply” that a few others have suggested. Has anyone dropped them an email and asked them to have a look at this thread? Maybe they’ll change tact if they find out their name is being dragged through the dirt on the UK’s largest bass guitar forum? …doubtful, but it’s a possibility. After all, this forum is only ever expanding…

that sounds like a synth... EDIT: I mean synth as in a keyboard, not a synth bass effect

I wrote a 3000 word essay on the hybridisation of musical genres in my first year of uni...i could have written a 20,000 thesis. I wish you the best of luck...

+1 for keeping at least one bass...you never know.
Hello, I have posted a pic of my US '97 Jazz with tort shell and drop D tuner, (but no longer the j retro. I put her back to passive and sold the j retro) I don't know much about warwicks or if this is a suitable trade, so please forgive my ignorance if it is not. She does'nt get a la la la la la lookin' since I bought a marcus sig about 6 months ago. If you are on route fro Pompey to Derby perhaps we could compare each others . Just a thought! obviously i will post more pics if required, cheers mr fudge.
Yeah I’d definitely be interested in this mate, it looks great. I’ve got no idea of the value of a ’97 US Jazz vs a Thumb BO either, so maybe someone can let us know? I bought the Thumb for £550, but I know the market has slumped since then, so I’d be guessing that its current value to be around £500. Have you got any more pics of it?
If you want some cold hard cash then drop me a PM as i'd possibly be interested in buying it. :brow: Already have an NT4, but a slightly worn BO would be better for gigging!
Thanks for the interest. I’ll see what kind of offers I get in the next week or so, and then I’ll ponder over a cash sale if I’ve not had much interest. Cheers mate

Trade my Thumb BO for your Jazz? This is my 2004 Thumb BO. I’ve owned it for about 2 years now and it was my main bass for almost the whole of that time, but since the arrival of my SSI about 2 months ago it’s just not getting used at all and I’d like a contrast to the Warwick sound…variety is the spice of life you know :brow: The bass does have a ding on the neck, right at the top of the fret board down at the first fret (pictured), but this doesn’t affect it’s playability at all – you cannot notice it when playing. The original owner done this and he said it was caused by a wall hanger…another reason why I don’t use them I’m interested in trades for a 4 string Jazz (possibly a 5), but I may consider other offers but it would have to be something very interesting to suppress my Jazz GAS. Anyone interested? I’m not a pro photographer at all, so please excuse the shoddy pics – I’ll do more if anyone asks:

Keep practising mate…that is the only solution. Maybe try tapping out rhythms with your hands to specifically concentrate on getting your rhythm slightly tighter, but other than that it will just come with time. Some people have a much tighter natural sense of rhythm than others, but it can be learnt, so don’t give up or get too stressed about it What you're doing already sounds good (practising with a metronome), so just keep it up and it should come gradually.
just a set up, no work done, £30 ish i guess
That’s my experience, but then you can also find small shops that are willing to do an equally good job for half the price.

Looks amazing mate, well saved. I still feel bad for you though that your missus thought it was reasonable revenge to do something like that for whatever reason it may have been. Luckily mine will never do that, I think she understands that I almost class them as a family member and I would consider it GBH or murder if she were ever to do something like that…

MODERATORS: HEADS UP!!! TOO MANY SELLERS IN TWO MINDS!!
Dubs replied to Apothem's topic in General Discussion
This is a great forum community where a lot of people seem to have built a strong rapport with other members, but nothing is a done deal until the cash is in your hand or the goods have been exchanged or shipped etc – no ones owes anyone any favors on this site, so it’s always the sellers prerogative to do whatever they want with their goods. By posting a for sale thread, the seller is only inviting you to make an offer with no guarantees that it will be accepted, and even if it is but they change their mind due to circumstances or any other reason then that’s just some of the sh*t that you have to deal with when buying and selling online, and more specifically, on a forum. However, it does work both ways – if you f*** people around then be prepared to get f***ed around yourself and possibly risk having your name dragged through the dirt…I seem to recall a recent incident with a Thumb BO…etc… Either way, in all sale deals it’s always good to treat the other person with as much respect as possible and let them know the whole situation as it is – i.e. if there’s a chance it is going to be withdrawn/sold to another person/etc, then let whoever is involved know about it. The same goes for buying as well – don’t ask for pics and negotiate on a price if you can’t afford it or have no intention of buying the item in question. Are these not just old issues repeating themselves in a slightly different format though? I’d also have to agree with Wayne on this one… -
Is there any difference between that and this one? http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~E...-Pi~ID~6148.asp
Yeah – That’s the USA Big Muff PI reissue which has been around for a long time, but the one from dolphin is the brand new Bass Big Muff, so it’s a bass specific version of the Big Muff and brand new for 2008.

I bought a DigiTech Synth Wah from Rudy's in 2003. He gave me a generous discount cos I had a bit of a chat with him and it was a display model or something. Great shop; i remember he had a lot of really expensive Warwicks in stock when i was in there, and a few custom finish ones as well. I'll go back one day...
