...im also looking for some parts for this bass, i would like... head decal any offers??? thanks marcus
So you can sand off “Squire” and put on “Fender”? I wouldn’t bother mate, the bass looks nice as it is so I wouldn’t potentially ruin the finish by doing something like that. As you said, it’s all about playability so the badge shouldn’t matter. As for mods, the first I’d be looking to get would be a BadAss bridge if I were you Tortoise shell pickguards also look the nuts on ‘burst Jazz basses, but I see you’re already on that one

FENDER 1961 JAZZ BASS STACK KNOB. WITH OHSC

lovely bass, but I'd much rather put down a fat deposit on a house for that much (not at the moment though ) -
backing machines to help with modes etc.
yeah could be good what about laying tracks down though i havent got a midi keyboard and dont know chords that well.
You can input in step time (manually) rather than real time - no need for a midi keyboard. You can get chord sheets off the net that tell you what notes are in what chords so you shouldn’t have any issues with programming and stuff. I think there is a freeware version of Cubase around, but I can’t remember the name. It's not my personal choice for sequencing or DAW, but it's a good place to start for something basic like this, and if you have a laptop then it’s very easily portable. No point spending £££ if you can use the hardware you’ve already got at the moment with some free software that will do the job just as good. -

do you have a laptop? If so, get a copy of Cubase...do you see where I'm going with this... -
Anyone fancy a bass with more than one neck?
Dubs replied to Delberthot's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
How the f*** do you play that? You’d have to be a body builder just to wear it/pick the bastard up -
i was in a band once where the drummer quit on the day of our first gig. We played it acoustic, it was sh*t, but we bad-mouthed him through the whole gig infront of about 150 people which made us feel a lot better you've got 3 weeks to sort something out...get a new guitarist? Don't worry about it, you've got loads of time to sort it out. You could even write a whole sets worth of new material in that time if you put your mind to it, so re-writing the tunes for 1 guitar shouldn't be too taxing

everyone has probably seen the SSII that's for sale at 700 quid on here, so over twice as much for an infinity is probably not going to look too attractive for a lot of buyers. A couple of weeks ago you could have bought a brand new SSII from Reverb for a grand, so 50% more for a used infinity? It's definitely a buyers market at the moment, but if i were you I'd try ebay before i give it to The Gallery to sell it for me on commission. Unfortunately, 1000 pounds might be a realistic price in today’s market. Fantastic bass though and it deserves to sell for a reasonable price.

Does anyone know what happened for the last hour or so? I couldn’t get on the site and it was coming up with an error message (not a standard browser message) saying “IPS Driver Error” or something like that. When I did get on there was only about 4 people on the site, so I’m guessing it wasn’t an issue at my end and it might have been to do with teething issues to do with moving servers or something? Oh well, it works now so I guess it’s not that big a deal.

Gibson ripper - slightly modified
Dubs replied to budget bassist's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Since when did “savagely reshaped” become “slightly modified”? Seems to be asking for a lot as well. £500 for that? Am I wrong in thinking that one sold on here recently and for a lot less than that…and it wasn’t “slightly modified” either. -
Eh? Not everyone is into this whole "social networking" scam. MySpace and Facebook are ugly, inflexible sites that are there to extract info from you, and sell your eyeballs to advertisers. It's a fad with a couple more years left, so that's a cue to do something more solid, IMHO.
As that may be, it’s pretty much the standard now though. Whenever we’re trying to get gigs we’re always asked for a myspace link, and it’s easy to tell people to go to myspace.com/…….. etc. Every ‘pro’ band has a myspace. Whether you agree with it or not, it’s pretty much the standard for every band at the moment given in the current commercial climate. I agree they’re sh*t though

I’ve never really liked the Gator ones. I’ve owned one from new and it’s been pretty shoddy – it doesn’t fit any of my Warwicks that well and the lining is starting to fall out so every time I open it I get tiny white polystyrene balls all over the house. However, I recently acquired a SSI that came with a TGI hard case and although they look pretty similar to the Gator cases, they’re much better and cheaper An alternative to that would be the £40 Warwick cases – great value for money and a lot lighter/smaller than the Gator cases, although possibly not as rugged.

there's this thread - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=840 - which may help?
If you want some fun try to break the screen with a hammer, if it is anything like a tv I used to have it will take some pressure to break it, in the end i threw it out of a 2nd floor window into a tip on to a brick that was in there. DON'T TRY THIS HOME or do it's a free country
haha that sounds like more fun than giving it away, but I'll have to make sure i do it outside cos my girlfriend would lose her mind if i done it in the house id be grounded and everything!
-
Ah oh well, cheers for the link anyways. Not sure the TV is worth the £12.89 though …the tip is likely to be its final resting place, but I thought I’d offer it on here before it gets unceremonially smashed into bits.
