I was thinking I would try the sports mode out on my new car. To be honest i'm way too broke to be wasting money on cabs when I can't even gig at the moment. I was just offerring a removal service 'cos I have space for it and would love the extra volume. Good luck with the sale!
fair doos mate...I'll take £75 cash from anyone who turns up at my door and takes it away
  5.
MB1. You'll Never get a Double Bass in that! Have an optomistic BUMP!
Haha that’s how I read it as well. I don’t know if I would like to carry a double bass around in a gig bag…more like a low-loader.
Are you in Stoke? That's only gonna be about a 60 mile round trip – about a tenner in diesel?...unless you're driving an 8.2ltr Juggernaut I’m feeling generous so you can have it for £75 if you’re interested and gonna collect it.
  7. Painfully good looking. I bet it’s a treat to play and sounds incredible. This is by far the best looking Flea bass I’ve ever seen.

have a look here mate - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=135 that's probably got all links to all the info you would ever need relating to impedence (etc)
  10. looks like it's not going to the 'bay after all any other takers?
  11.
...And funk isn't about technique; it's about the feel and the groove... Anyone can play the notes Boots Collins played with James Brown, but they can't play them the way Bootsy did. That's funk!!
+1 well said and i think that totally sums it up. Funk is a feeling and about locking into the groove and it should sound effortless and natural
Ben, why do you want to sell this excellent bass! Ok, I've just started to rekindle my MM love after a 1 year break but honestly you aint going to get this level of quality for £675 anywhere else. Somebody buy this before Ben comes to his senses, I'd have it meself but I've only got a Precision in trade.
It’s just not my thing at the moment. I'm almost exclusively playing my Warwicks and I've got no need for this at all. I'd much rather acquire another Warwick that I'd actually use or the cash to suppress a bit of GAS for other little bits and bobs. Everyone's got to own a Stingray at some point though
  13. I almost refuse to play root note bass lines...but that doesn’t mean I don’t occasionally like listening to songs with boring root note bass lines in them, if you get my drift. I'm young and immature so the more complex the better - it keeps me concentrating and so I'm actually less likely to mess up a really complicated bass line that I would I really easy one, weird that but true.
  14. nothing better than a laid back funky porn groove :brow:
  15.
Isn't that the album with the bizzare intro where the word Funk is incorporated into every third word?
i dont know, ive only got 2 tracks and I've been after an album for ages but i cant find anywhere that sells it. the 2 ive got are - "Fah Daa Bah Dee Bah Doo Bomph" and "Heavy Junk" I played Heavy Junk as part of my final year uni performance, cracking tune with a proper good groove.

  17.
Oh yea thats what I do and I can play funk pretty well, I'm just wondering if a lot of other bassists go against the 'bassists = loves funk' thing. When people ask me to 'play something funky' I always play Prog Metal tapping/harmonics riffs just to be contrary, seems to entertain more than playing Aeroplane or Settle For Nothing .
aeroplane isnt the sort of funk i was thinking of...more along the lines of the first 2 Jamiroquai albums or the funky Stevie Wonder stuff (Sir Duke, I Wish, Master Blaster...) . Anyone heard of The Mother Funk Conspiracy?
  18. you're a bass player! you should love the funk! I didn't appreciate funk until i started playing bass and now i think i have a kind of funk disease or something because i cant seem to be able to play anything without funking it up. I find it a great way to unleash some mad skills without having to venture into the depths of conceptual jazz improvisation...not that i've really given Jazz much of a go.
  19. that tele looks amazing, i love the way the grain is compressed at the rop of the body and it gets wider towards the bottom. best of luck with the sale
  20.
ah i would have had a go on this if id have read it in time, ah well
I've not got round to listing it yet so I'll give it another week and if there's sufficient interest (looking doubtful) then I'll release it into the realm of BC...going to mr.sibs first.
  21. Ok…here’s my Stingray again . Relisted because it’s just sitting there doing nothing and going to waste – I’d rather a fellow BC’er put her to use. I’ve taken new pics so I hope anyone that was interested before has a clearer idea of condition. It’s in great condition except for the back of it which does have some buckle rash which gloss finished basses do suffer from, it’s not overly severe but it is definitely noticeable and it is definitely there. I’ve heard that this kind of light buckle rash is fairly easy to get out though…somehow? Obviously comes with the original MM hard case which is also in great condition. £675 – no offers please. I will trade it (potentially + cash) for a NT Warwick circa 88-92 but will consider a trade for a newer SSI. Hope you like what you see and PM me for any additional info or with any questions and I will be more than happy to respond.
