1. Thanks for the suggestions all. Played the Kawai ES-7, loved it, but heard/read too many horror stories of people having numerous issues with theirs either straight out of the box brand-new or after only 12 to 18 months of use. Bought a Roland FP-80 in the end, way over original budget but loved the feel and sound, and the unit itself feels absolutely solid as a rock - should stand the test of time! The Concert Piano sounds incredible; probably the best sounding DP I tried in the end.
2. The Kauai ES7 is top of the list at the moment, just need to try it!
3. Cheers all, the Nord Electro 3 and Kawai ES7 look like potentials, just need to try them out somewhere.
4. Hi All, I'm in need of a stage piano. I've owned a Clavinova CLP-411 for circa 15 years so am well used to this particular style of electric piano and ideally I'd like something that feels similar. I've played a couple of Yamaha's locally and really liked the feel of the high end stuff (£2k+) but can't realistically stretch to that. Priorities listed in order of importance:

Action/feel
Piano sound
Weight
EP sounds
Your advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers. PS Merry Christmas.
5. Just realised my pics have disappeared... Embrace the tart cab:
6. Cheers all, interesting mix of replies. We get ALL our bookings through recommendations, which is great for us and keeps us busy enough to keep the love and for it not to be a pain in the arse (25-30 'covers' gigs a year - mix of pub/private party/wedding, all sorts of venues...). However, this obviously causes issues when talking money - "you played so-and-so's party for £400 the other week but you want £850 for a wedding 50 miles down the road?!?! Are you taking me for a f***ing ride..." etc. This thread should give me enough ammo to justify that we're not just "hiking" the fee cos some gullible nob is having a wedding...! Does anyone else find this with recommendations when the gigs aren't like-for-like?
7. When a prospective client says that magic word, do you hike your price, and if so how much by?
8. Done some mods to my L410,,,
9.
I love it! How are you powering it?
The lights are 12V, so just a standard 12V adapter does it. I'm using a 5A adapter but 2A would do it easily. I've wired a standard adapter input into the handle of the cab, so I just plug it straight into that - same standard connection as the power for an effects pedal. Does the job! Cheers for the positive comments all!
10. Pimp my cab!!! Pretty chuffed with the outcome
11. You're gonna love it or hate it...
12. Blue enough?
13. Sorting through some old stuff and found this. Free to collect from Portsmouth/Southsea. No postage - can't be arsed. Looks just like this: Our bins get collected on Wednesdays, so seeing as it's Wednesday you've got 7 days to save this fella before he goes to the great rack-heap in the sky...
14. There's a great lightweight TecAmp 2x12 cab up for sale on here at the moment, I'd be looking at that + the TB if I were you. My setup for the last 3 years has been the TecAmp L410 + TB. Immense, and laughably lightweight!!
15. Ha, you've seen our tour schedule then!!
16. Has anyone tried putting LED strip lights around the inside edge of their cab? I've got some stuff on order from ebay that I'm going to experiment with - I'll post pics if it works
17. Thanks for taking the time to listen and cheers for the feedback. I agree with regards to the lead sound - a bit too much, but was difficult to get the sound we were going for - ambient, distant but packing some punch.
18. Recorded a new song with the band recently, would appreciate some feedback on overall sound - https://soundcloud.com/mr-plum/mix-3rd-july-quick-master-2 Cheers.
19. I've got a Streamer Stage I I've not played for 2 years, won't sell it though...
20. Estate. I've had a lot of cars over the last couple of years through work - A3, A4, A5, A6, Octavia, Superb, Fabia, 1 Series - and the biggest factor when it comes to transporting gear is how easy it is to get in and out of the boot. An estate with a flat loading boot is unbeatable IMO. When I have to buy my own car again that's what I'll be looking for. The Skodas are unbeatable value for money IMO - they feel as good as the Audis but less than 2/3 the price, especially the Superb, great car.
21. It's Your Life - Lenny Kravitz So much grooooooooooooove :brow:
22. Sounds like it would look pretty cool, but isn't half the appeal of a Terror Bass the fact that it's small and light? Won't this just add bulk and mass and make it less easy to carry around? Can't help thinking "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...
23. Pointlessly subjective question, but how does this sound with bass?
24. I've not contributed much to the forum for the last year beyond Off Topic, but it's good to know the same things are still coming around time and time again...
