1. Not posted for a while. This is what I'm currently rockin' - Lots left off that for practical reasons...
2.
I do most of my shows with my OTB, and some sound guys have said the DI of the amp is quite hot, but a DI box usually sorts that out. Others haven't had a problem. I guess they just pad it on the desk...... If you can get up to Brum, you can try mine out.
+1 Played quite a few gigs with mine now and I think I've only used the DI once, and no comment was made on it being hot. TBH, a lot of venues will get you to use their DI rather than the DI on the back of an amp unless you specifically ask to use your own - just my experience. Get the OTB now!! You wont regrett it

4. I'm probably going to get flamed here, but I think guitar cabs (as opposed to bass cabs) are less about the design of the cab and more about your choice of driver. Just my experience/opinion. Ask yourself what you're going to use it for, what amp you're going to use it with, how much you want to spend, and then you should get a pretty good idea about what you need to do. Personally for guitar I'd stick with 12" drivers.
That looks great. I'm thinking of building something similar myself over the summer having seen this thread. Did you get B&Q to cut the MDF on their big panel saw? I recently sold my bandsaw and I'm not convinced I can cut straight lines with a jigsaw!
Sorry for the late reply - been drinking in the sun in a field in Somerset for the last 6 days... Yeah I got them to cut the MDF at B&Q as I would never have got anything like a straight line myself They're usually really good in there and are very accurate. I've got stuff cut to awkward measurements in a few different stores and they've all been able to cut it to the nearest half mm. Very handy for someone like me who is generally completely cack-handed with a saw/jigsaw!
6. Beautiful flame on that body, one of the nicest I've seen.
7. Yeah man, still absolutely lovin' my L410 - probably the best £400 I've ever spent!!!
8.
Well as long as its 'proper' speaker cloth, and not some super tight weaved stuff that doesnt allow airflow you should get zero difference in the low end a t all. You will get a tiny diff at the extreme top end, but in a tweeterless cab even that wont be noticeable.
Yeah it's going to be proper grill cloth, i.e. most probably either the Fender silver and black, oxblood, or tweed cloth. Cheers for the info
9. Will it affect air-flow/be detrimental to the sound? For example, if I was to completely cover this with a cloth grill about 15mm from the end of the port... ...would it significantly reduce the air flow of the port?

Cheers guys algmusic - Yeah I'm planning on putting an Ampeg vintage style grill on it, kind of like this: ...or maybe tweed, depends what I can find nice and cheep Any recommendations? In total so far it's probably cost me about £70, and £35 of that was the driver - a 2nd hand (very good condition, hardly used, if at all by the looks of it) Eminence Deltalite 2510. I've not actually had a chance to properly test the finished thing yet with it fully sealed due to there being a big hole where I've not sealed and screwed the handle in yet, but I have high expectations as it's sounding good without being airtight! Hope I'm not too disappointed...

Almost finished: The corners and handle aren't screwed down in these pics as I didn't have time to finish that off tonight so it'll have to wait till next week. I'm hoping to put an Ampeg vintage silver style grill on it, pending being able to find some cloth at a 'reasonable' price
13. Sorry to hear about this mate - I hate hearing about stolen gear. Best of luck getting it back.
14. Have you looked into the TecAmp or Epifani 4x10 cabs? Better than the ones you've listed, but also more expensive...
Awesome. I wonder how the triangle shaped port will affect things! Copyright that!
Thanks! I can't take credit for the triangle port though - I've seen it being used on other cabs, cough cough... The shape of the port doesn't (shouldn't) really matter, it's all about the area and depth. I had to make mine quite long to get the response I wanted. I won't know how it sounds until it's all finished though!
17. Does this come with the PSU?

DIY 1x10 Cab

Pro cab builders look away now... I think it's coming on pretty well. Should end up weighing about 12kg (26.5lbs). I've got most of my parts so hopefully I'll have it finished before I go to Glastonbury on Wednesday morning.
19. I'd be all over that pre if I knew it was going to get used and not just sit around... great price for a great bit of kit!
20.
They are the 450h things...
Looks like a couple of SVT-VR heads in that pic?
21. Is this a Streamer Jazzman? Got any pics?
22. Take it you're not after trades if it's 'priced to sell'?
