1.
nice work !
Thanks. I should finish it tonight.
2. Over a year ago I made this - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...t=0&start=0 Turns out it had a few problems so now I've decided to make a new and improved version! It has to be smaller, lighter, have more gaps for cables, and have a much shallower incline to make it more practical to use live. I had an old shelf lying around... ...so I chopped the top of it off: I then took a few bits out and carried out some very scientific measurements for where the gaps should go with a few typically sized pedals: I then cut out some legs but made sure they were of a pretty shallow incline, and then got to work with the Liquid Nails :brow: : Pow! I ordered some very fluffy carpet from eBay and then done some more very scientific measurements: Turns out that I was about 2 inches too eager to get on with it: Measure twice, cut once, blah blah blah... second time lucky, and more Liquid Nails!: Then more measuring and cutting and stapling and glueing and finger slicing with Stanley knives: I forgot how much of a pain in the arse it is to carpet stuff. Not quite finished yet but it's going well and should be good. Simple but effective.
3. I might be interested in buying 1 if you were going to sell...
4.
hiya any vague idea what you be after roughly? Is this pedal similar to a guv'nor?
I'd be interesed in different fuzz/OD or synth pedals. Anything a bit different. No idea what the guv'nor is like so I couldn't really compare it.
5. Had a few nice offers, still available though.
6.
I took it to a "shop" and by shop i mean some place owned by some old bloke with a moustache. I suppose i should take it back to the shop but i don't know if there is any point if i'm not going to be able to get my money back.
Just take it back and ask him to have a look at it. It may be a simple fix that he'll be happy to do for free. Has one of the valves definitely gone or could it be something else?
7. Did you get it done by a professional tech/shop, or did you DIY it? If you paid for the work to be done then take it back and see what they say...
8. Up for a tentative trade 'feeler' is my Owen Bass Gremlin overdrive/distortion pedal. It's a great pedal but I can't see that I'm likely to be using it for anything live soon. I'm tending to use a much more aggressive fuzz sound such as the ODB-3. It's in great condition with only a couple of very small chips in the paint and comes with the original Owen bag. Here's a stock pic: I'll do an actual pic of it on request. More info available here - http://www.owenelectronics.co.uk/9939.html I don't have anything specific in mind for trade but I'm always up for trying different gear. Drop me a PM or post trade ideas if you're interested.
9. That's the best looking L-2000 I've seen. Great job!
10.
I knew this wouldn't last, because I nearly bought it
+1 I was seriously considering it...
11. I could be interested in 1 obviously depnding if you're willing to split and shipping costs....
12.
This is a nice comprimise if you dont fancy fitting straplocks (or dont like bottle washers an duct tape )
I've see plastic straplocks end in tears before...
13. I've concluded that if you've got a good cab then the 1000W version is just total overkill. I had a very loud practise on Friday with my new 500W OTB with the gain set at about the 2nd notch and the master volume on about the 3rd notch and it was eye watering trouser flappingly ridiculous with my TecAmp 4x10. Good times!
14. I played one of these recently and was very impressed. Good luck with the sale.
15.
I just took some pics of my new toys - but they didn't look great - I'll have a go later! Dubs, lovin' the Tec as usual!
Cheers mate Gigged it last night and it was immense.
16.
It breaks my heart to do this but Mrs Martin is GASing for a new dining room table... It's the best single cab I've ever used...
oh dear, Andy...
17.
Pause for thought: how many people would use a venue provided 'rig'? Let's guess, 90%? How many people would use, a venue provided bass.....? Speaks volumes from my perspective.
I always bring my own rig. Always. Promoters are sh*t and poor communication and stitch ups with sh*t backline in the past has meant that I always bring my own.
18. I'm still tempted to hit the BIN and see what happens
19. First practise tonight with it. first gig tomorrow with it. You wouldn't believe the SPL... It's an absolute little beasty and sounds amazing.
20.
Amp whore
true. I had very bad amp GAS when an Aguilar DB750 was recently for sale on here, but I didn't have the readies at the time
21. I've had Trace Elliot, Carlsbro, Ampeg, Genz-Benz, Epifani, SWR, TecAmp, and Orange... all in the last 3 years! ...that's not including a QSC power amp that I was using with an SVP-Pro EDIT: Thinking about it, that was all in the last 2 years!!
22. It's personal preference; there is no 'perfect bass' for a functions band IMO.
23.
Well you're not exactly many miles away! Gimmie a shout if you want to pop round and give it a go at some point!
I'm scared that I won't be able to leave the SSII with you!! Cheers for the offer, something I'd deffo be up for at some point. They look so impressive.
24. Very nice. I'd love to have a go with some fanned frets, just so I can try and understand what they're all about...
