I should add, I'm at work all day today so will not have any practice time at all (well.....30 mins when I get home at best).
daaammmmnn... Best of luck with this then, can't really see how it can be done. Maybe explain the situation to the band and try to blag it, or offer them a load of songs that you could play instead in the hope that they know a couple?

You'll be fine mate - just get stuck in and keep going over them. Explain that you've only just learnt them today and if all goes well then you should get some kudos from the band for learning them so quick. I had to learn 25 songs in a week for a covers gig 2 weeks ago !

£150 should be about the top end for this IMO. I'd be loathed to pay any more unless it was a great player...

Shameless plug Selling a flightcased QSC RMX1450 here if you're interested - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=78118 Great amp for a PA and all you'd need after would be a couple of good passive speakers.

Watched this last night and was ready to comepletely hate it, but it was great! Jaco was on it!! It was so good I might watch it again tonight. Regardless of anything else, you just can't get away from how good the music is, expecially with that band. Would have been an amazing show...
The seller hasn't stated whether it has a neck or not. For that reason, I'd be wary. S.P.
Marvellous spot. Everything else about the auction fills me with confidence though...

If it was local then I'd put a £15 bid on it just for a laugh - It'd be like a lucky dip
I would reply with "can I have a go on your missus?", I don't hold my bass in that high esteem but it's worth a try.
...and some people don't hold their other half in that high esteem either

I'm gonna have to take a closer look at these...

I love gear stalking It's the first thing I do when I get into a venue - look at what's on the stage! I very rarely actually seek out people to talk about their gear though... I've reached the point in my band where I've stopped talking about gear because it became a running joke where I'd turn up to practice with a new head almost every other week. They think I'm the ultimate gear slut, but I know I'm not as bad as some on here EDIT: Played a gig on Saturday where someone was asking me about my gear, but it was difficult to have a 2 way conversation because they didn't really know a lot about the gear I was using but I also went straight into geek mode and didn't fully realise that I was talking at them for 10 minutes
Im going to be bold and take a brave step. without causing world war III I personally feel that its about time basschat.co.uk was an exclusive site for bassplayers in the uk. the politically correct members may shoot me down in flames and I have no problem with our EU counterparts (as I am fluent in 4 european languages and have many a friend worldwide) but when we have a .co.uk site, surely it should remain within the UK(especially for sales). there was a time when Britannia ruled the waves you know. To me there is nothing wrong with www.basschat.holland.com or www.basschat.spain.com. for thoses in respective countries to enjoy. that would leave www.basschatthailand.com to go and sell his warwick and spector basses on ebay or around around the continent of asia without arousing such suspician on this site. Regards Mark
I'm by no means the PC police, but I think that is an absolutely crap idea, and this is the wrong place to bring it up...
