Cheers guys. I'll order it tonight. I love my L410 but the rubbery coating is getting absolutely mullered due to gigs and carting it about 2 or 3 times a week.

I've sent my measurements over but they're different to the listed TecAmp ones. How did you do yours? Mine are consistently about 1cm smaller than the listed TecAmp ones in terms of HxWxD...
 Guess I should have read every post . . . Beautiful rig, Dubs. How's it all hooked up? Is the power amp bridged? Mark
Ta very much The power amp is bridged to give 1.4KW @ 4ohms - never had the volume on the amp above the 2nd notch. It's a properly loud piece of kit, and the tone is incredible. The set-up is an Ampeg SVP-Pro into a bridged QSC RMX1450 power amp, then into the L410. It's a very heavy rack though so I'm considering looking for something lighter in the new year, but I'll definitely hold onto the L410.

Bought the album this morning - just listened to it from start to finish and it absolutely blew me away. JPJ’s lines are great! Intricate in parts with an aggressively punchy tone that sits up in the mix and makes you listen; I couldn't stop myself from concentrating on the bass for the entire length of the album. I'll undoubtedly give it another few listens over the next few days, but I think it's my album of 2009. I just realised they played Pompey last night and now I feel a bit sick that I missed it…physically sick

Have you ever been in a band with someone you don't really like?
Have you ever been in a band with someone you don't really like?
Once, and that band imploded and reformed -1 member (the one we didn't like ). Bottom line is that it wasn't good and didn't last. -
Really? I know that the 2x12 that I had was 320w or so without an ext cab but I found it surprisingly lacking in power with an energetic drummer and a couple of moderately enthusiastic guitarists; I do accept that it depends what amp/cab/combo you had previously, the style of music, type of band, volume of guitarists etc. IMHO a bit of a R&D 'fail' when you have to add an ext cab to a combo to get the required volume; especially when combos are generally bought for their portability. To have to add an ext cab to a 2x12 lightweight combo, to achieve the required volume to do standalone gigs seems a bit daft if you ask me but again I stress this is in the circumstances that I find my self... however, I never feel as if there is any lack of volume from my present 2x12 rig!
Well I'm using the 410L 4x10 with an Ampeg SVP-Pro going through a QSC RMX1450 which is kicking out 1.4kW bridged; never had the master volume above the 2nd notch on the power amp and our drummer is LOUD! The sound guy asked me to turn down this weekend as well. I've got a massive amount of headroom and plenty left in the tank from the power amp. Maybe it's the amp in the combo that's the issue?

The less I'm able to check back here, the more annoying this issue gets.

wow, what a rip...

I take it that you're talking about one of the new model 715 combos? I used to own a '90s GP7 2x10 and it was bloody great. Played the 1x15 version as well and that sounded a slightly bit deeper/fuller/maybe muffled, but you definitely still got that classic Trace clarity and growl. It's sad to hear bad reviews about the new stuff.
So could you attach a Phil Jones Suitcase Extension Cab to it then!
Any 8ohm cab will work, but if it sounds good or not is another question...
I suppose I'll be bucking some trends here, but honestly in my opinion anything other than a Fender Jazz or P-Bass is a waste of time. I also don't get having more than four strings. The lower B just gives you five extra notes that most people never have a need for at the expense of a reasonable-sized neck, and the higher strings on those gigantic six or sevens just sound piddly and weak. Again, just my opinion, but whenever I see a bass player with more than four strings on his bass I expect either some seriously boring overindulgent widdling, or just a shoddy performance by someone who hopes that people will assume he's really good because he has extra strings. I really, really dislike the look of these overdesigned luthier basses that are made of sixteen different types of contrasting wood, all of which would be better suited to veneering a French dresser, and they all have fourteen strings and fanned frets and weird body shapes and pickups at funny angles and generally look a bit like someone nailed a ladder to a goldfish. And you never actually see anyone playing them live, presumably because there aren't many bands out there where the guitarists have twelve-neck guitars and the drummers have a 400-piece kit. After having spent some serious time in studios recently, I don't actually see the need for bass amp heads. Speakers, sure. But every time we tracked bass, we'd go through the gear we had to find a match, and every time without fail we passed over Ampeg, Markbass, Peavey and Mesa bass heads in favour of an old Marshall guitar head. And you tend to pay a little bit more for bass amps ayway, and they're usually overdesigned to the point where if something goes wrong it's out of commission for ten weeks. I don't get bass effects, either. Put it this way: A bass player with a load of effects on the floor is either doing something radically new and different, or he's just forgotten what the bass is for in music. Usually it's the latter.
There's little truth in any of that. -

I guess I should post this here as well... Used it a few times now and it's absolutely immense!
