1. Soundslive were doing these for about £35 I think - http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=9790 I got one and they're great, especially when you consider that the RRP is about £80. If you can find one anywhere on the cheap then go for it, they're much stronger and more padded and durable than the Warwick ones (I used to have one of those too, until I left it on a train ...but it was empty).
  2. If there's any chance you can meet me at J19 of the M4 on Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon then I might take this off you mate - can't guarantee anything yet though due to the logistics of a trip to Cardiff to see my sister - I'm trying the old 2 birds 1 stone job on this one...
  3.
When i was gigging a Ashdown EB180 i brought a Aphex Exciter pedal to try and get louder. while it doesn't make you louder it certainly gave me more presence and felt like i was a bit louder.
I've got one of those up for sale I might put it in between my Pod Live XT and the amp to see if it makes a difference.
  4.
That's because you were using the wrong volume control. The one you need to adjust is on the guitarists amp.
In most cases, I'd agree, but the guitarist's tone is great and the drummer is a bit naturally loud so they work well with each other. Not got a full band practise this week so I can't test amp positioning yet to see if that helps...
  5. Sounds very nice indeed. I'd definitely be interested in seeing some pics :brow:
  6.
When an item is faulty or not as described, by law they DO have to pay the return postage. It is only if the customer changes their mind within the "cool off" period that they have to pay the return postage. That is the only plus side to this situation at the moment.
Sounds like you know more about this kind of thing than me. Good luck with getting it all sorted - sounds like a pain in the arse.
  7.
I'd send that one back!
Deffo. As well as that, try to get them to pay for the return costs seen as this isn't your fault. I've managed to talk a few online retailers into paying the return postage on items that are either faulty or poorly described - by law they don't have to but it shows goodwill if they do.
  8. Damn, sounds like you were unlucky. Just out of interest, what retailer are we talking about?
  9.
Yeah, sounds about right I recommend the megaphone method, but instead tape a few together and then hang them in front, see how that works. Zach
I might raid ebay and hook up an 8xMegaPhone rig :brow:
  10. Looks interesting. Do you know much about these? EDIT: I just read somewhere that the head weighs 93lbs. f*** that!
  11.
hmmm, 1 feedback over 12 months ago, and the microsynth looks to be without the green paint and doesnt say guitar or bass. fake? link
Looks alright. Just probably an inexperienced eBay user that rarely uses their account. The old ones looked like this:
  12. Bump for pics. This is going on eBay on Thursday if it hasn't sold on here by then.

    SOLD

Fancy a swap for a DOD FX20C Phaser?
  15. I can't get it to play. I am having some computer issues so this problem is probably unique to me
  16.
Don't suppose you've tried the volume control at all? Zach
To the point that everything is distorted, and then it sounds like a fart in a can
  17.
A mega phone in front of it?
I did not think of this...
  18.
We're looking at doubling that...
16 hours?! Now that's some serious practising!
  19. Thanks for that. I'll try out a few things next practice and see what happens...
  20. I'm using a Hughes & Kettner QC421 400W combo at the moment and I'm not sure it's loud enough on its own. It has a serial jack output on the back for an extension cab - should I be looking for a cheap 1x15, or would something else be a better solution for more air movement?
  21. Not really on topic, but do you really need to practice for more than 8 hours a week? That's a lot of practice hours! £10 an hour for a fully equipped room sounds pretty good though. I've used a lot of places that charge £10 an hour just for the room and PA, then any backline or drums/cymbals are extra per hour, but they were good rooms with fairly decent equipment. Obviously it would be ideal to have your own space though, and I'd have thought that you'd be able to find something for around what you're paying already.
  22.
What's your thinking behind this? Alex
I was told it once by someone who I thought new what they were talking about. I guess it's not the case
  23. With a poorly designed rear-ported cab there is the possibility for slight cancellation, which basically means it's gonna have a lower SPL within a certain frequency range than a front ported equivalent. I'd guess this is unlikely with modern cab designs though.
