1.
My big regret is that I have never played music with other people. I lack confidence in my abilities now and can't see me ever doing it.
You can do it man. It's never too late to start...
  2. Yeah I've been watching this since about 9:30 Working till 8:30pm on a Friday night, what a f***ing legend I am!! (or a mug )
  3. My first and only real major regret (so far… ) was selling a really nice Warwick Streamer “Bolt-On” that played beautifully and sounded incredible that I got in a trade deal for a Streamer Stage II. I traded it for a Musicman Sterling that I only kept for about a month before selling it on… You’ve got to make mistakes to learn from them

[s]Someone is selling this locally for £80 - Anyone know what model it is and where I can get more info on it? I'm thinking of buying it to test the waters for 5 string playing...[/s]
  6.
hi i have two speakers if anyone wants. one is faulty and the sound is distorted so will need to be fixed but the second one works well. they are 16 ohm each. comes from hartke 2x10 tp i thought about making small 1x10 cab but dont have a tools or skills so free to anyone who can collect it from Cardiff this week.
Just wondering, how heavy is it (the working driver - not really interested in the broken one), and where about's in Cardiff are you? My sister lives in Tremorfa so there's a chance she could collect the working one for me...
  7.
"Well the point is that you might not get the gig if other venues think there’s a chance you’re gonna slag them off on here." If the venue was going to be slagged off on here, why would anyone want to gig there?
If only every gigging band could be so picky...
  8.
Why would this thread be revealed by Google but and Off Topic thread wouldn't? I didn't know that. Still can't see the problem though personally. If a venue found itself mentioned in a "venues to avoid" situation, I would have hoped that they would want to know about it.
Well the point is that you might not get the gig if other venues think there’s a chance you’re gonna slag them off on here.
  9.
I would have thought that the point of this exercise was to try to prevent fellow BCers getting their "fingers burnt" - not to "get gigs". Only IMHO of course. FWIW, The Railway Inn at Ipswich would be my nomination.
If you have your band name and/or links to your band in your avatar then there’s every chance that this thread might pop up in a Google search carried out by venues that might be looking to offer you a gig… If someone searched “The+Beautiful+Sound+Ipswich” then they might be linked to this thread, which will become more likely with BassChat's ever increasing popularity. It can be good to share this kind of info, but maybe do it in the Off Topic forum that doesn’t show up on Google…
  10. Slagging off venues is a great way to get gigs…
  11. Earlier on it was £900 BIN with an £800 start price, but someone has placed a bid so the BIN has gone.

  14.
Hello chaps and chapesses, I like the look of the new rockbass streamer lx, my question is, are warwick necks the same depth as rockbass necks? think a rockbass neck would swap straight out for a standard warwick one? cheers folks
In all honesty, you may find it cheaper to buy a ‘real’ Streamer LX 2nd hand than to buy a RockBass Streamer LX and change the neck on it…
  15. This looks very well built. Got to be worth £350 of anyone's money...
  16. The myspace stuff sounds great - I'd love to get involved but it's unrealistic for me, being that I'm in Portsmouth... Good luck with the search
  17.
Depends what you mean by budget?wouldnt call their mag range budget.but their electric blue range is budget and yes they are sh*te
both are pretty shocking IME...
  18. That looks great for the cash. Bet it's sold now though - it was listed on the 5th
  19.
What size are the holes in the machine head? I would guess they'll be 17.6mm which is slightly too big for these – they require a 15mm hole. There doesn't seem to be any information on the M.M. site about the holes, so measuring them would be best.
Yeah they're 17mm. I thought they would probably be too big, oh well...
  20. Would these fit a Mighty Mite 2909 Jazz Bass neck?
  21.
BERGANTINO NV610!!! NO questions!!! It's an AMPEG 810 cab KILLER in a package 1/2 the weight & far easier to move. Absolutely KILLS the 810- & AFAIK was designed to sound like the OLD Ampeg 810 straight back cab. I've never heard one of those, but I DO know that the NV610 with my V4BH sounds simply superb!! Low notes sound like explosions!! & this cab has SO much more clarity than the SVT410HLF I had previously- a mud bucket IMO. If U can- try one w/ the V4BH- but in a gig/band setting this combo absolutely KILLS!!!!!!
Not really comparable when it costs twice as much...
