No prizes for guessing what’s just happened when I’ve sent a PM after 12:03 and gone to send another… Anyone have any ideas?

I sent a PM after 11:53 and went to send another one but it just happened again. Look at the time it's telling me I can't send another PM until and my clock in the bottom right hand corner - only about 5 minutes difference. Anyone know why this is happening?

It told me I had to wait a few minutes to send another PM? Does anyone know what this is all about? I tried it a few times but it didn’t work. See attached screenshot.

I’ve got a few pedals up for sale/trade. Ideally I’m after a trade for a SansAmp VT Bass and/or a Boss SYB-5 (or similar synth effects will be considered) for any combination of my pedals. The first 3 pedals I have up are open to sale or trade, but the second 3 pedals are only up for trade if I’m offered what I want because otherwise I’m happy to keep them. 1) BYOC ESV Fuzz (Fuzzface) - £70 Bought this from Toasted about a year ago and although it’s a fantastic pedal I just don’t use it. It produces a really aggressive fuzz that’s full of thick harmonics. More info and a sound clip on Toasted’s original thread - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=17840&hl – "It's a BYOC Fuzz with internal controls and a few choice mods. It's got the Jack Orman input "buffer" so it works great with active and passive basses. It's got the cool colour changing LED. It's also got two Beavis Audio mods. One to boost the volume, and one to boost the bass. It's also in a REALLY sexy Sw***box enclosure." 2) MXR M-206 Time Delay (Analogue Delay) - £35 This is an original 2000 Series “Made In U.S.A” MXR that was produced in limited numbers between 1982 and 1984. “The Series 2000" was a complete rework of the Reference and Commande Line of products. These were a higher quality pedal, with electronic FET switching and dual LED indicators. They had a new contoured shape, an all metal chassis and an easily-removable plastic battery compartment door. These were fully rubberized on the bottom surface, and were remote-controllable.” 3) Paisley Tubby Quasar (Ampeg Scrambler Clone) - *SOLD* This is a great little boutique clone of the classic Ampeg Scrambler from the ‘60s. “Based around the Ampeg Scrambler from the sixties.Well known for being rare... This stays pretty faithful to the original, with minor updates that does not affect the sound but makes it a bit more user friendly and reliable. The Paisley Quasar has two controls; Blend and Texture, the Blend control turned fully anti-clockwise will give you the sound as if the effect has been bypassed and by turning it up this will increase the amount of fuzz/octave being blended into the clean signal. The Texture control changes the amount of intensity of the octave effect added with distortion to the input signal. From a smooth sound produced when the Texture control is fully clockwise, turning the control anti-clockwise results in more of an upper octave effect being added. With the Blend turned up with Texture the Quasar can get quite aggressive indeed.” The following pedals are only up for trade if I’m offered what I’m looking for. I’ve put a trade value to help with working out what a fair trade would be. 4) Dod FX-20C Stereo Phaser - £30 Great Phaser but I can’t see myself ever using it in a live situation. “The FX20 is our unique stereo phaser pedal. The rich phasing gives you that classic phaser sound, but also provides the option of adding regeneration to the effect. This breaths new life into your sound by putting a modern twist on an irreplaceable effect.” 5) Aria FL-10 Dual Stage Flanger - £35 This is a fantastic Flanger from the ‘80s with 2 separate stages. It’s possible to get some crazy sounds out of this, but I can’t see how I’d use it in a live situation. It’s great for a laugh though, and I’ve seen people selling these for a lot on the US eBay. “Made In Japan”. 6) Aphex Bass Xciter - £55 There’s been a lot said about these on the forum, so I’ll just be lazy and copy and past some stuff that Aphex say about it “For all types of basses with magnetic or piezo pickups, active or passive. Voicing is tailored to deep tone & sustain while adding life to the the bite or slap. Smaller rigs sound big; big rigs sound huge!” Taverymuchly!

Rare custom order Warwick Thumb...Striaght sale now £800
I would think that it was made by their custom shop....just mean it wasn't one of the "Official" custom models they bring out from time to time like the Dirty Blonde etc which would have the full Custom Shop markings such as the CS plate.....
I think you’re confusing the limited editions that don’t have the CS plate/badge on the back of the headstock with custom shop orders that do have the CS plate/badge on the back of the headstock. -
The Roland RX Bass Cube is apparently pretty immense - http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?StockCode=EG02775
That looks like a good downgrade, but I might have a problem with the unbalanced outputs. I was getting a lot of hum before I went to balanced cables through my active monitors so I'm afraid that would return with this unit. Can anyone shed any light? Ta, Ben.
USB and Firewire powered audio interfaces are legendary for that – I was once told it was due to the power not being grounded properly (or at all) through the USB/Firewire cable. The USB Mbox interfaces that comes with the ProTools LE packages are really bad for this.
so...I'm still not sure if I should get one or save money for the sansamp...i'm really tempted to be honest...with that price tag, it's almost begging me to buy it
With most of these things you get what you pay for – if you’re prepared to buy cheep with the knowledge that what you’re getting is cheap (in all aspects) then go for the Behringer. If you’re prepared to fork out the extra wonga then go for the more solid and arguably more reliable SansAmp… I use a BDDI and I think it’s great.

Looks like a weird idea. Good way achieving neck dive?

My first guess would be that there’s a problem with the input jack that you’re using. Try using the other one and see what happens…

FS/FT: Pedulla Pentabuzz 5 string fretless. £1400!

I’d guess that you can get some generic rubber feet from eBay that would do the job well. I used to have this cab and I know the ones you mean, and I think they were pretty generic feet anyway – I don’t remember anything about them that would make them Ampeg specific. Probably a lot cheaper to get non Ampeg replacements too
I think sentimental attachment holds true for a few instruments. Basically I have: Basses W&T Chronos (my mainstay workhorse now, the only one I play) - not for sale Fender/Shuker Geddy Lee 'Custom' (previous workhorse) - wouldn't be happy to sell but I don't really play it now Fender US J-bass (defretted and epoxied - my first real bass) - would be ok with selling, I don't really play it, but having a good fretless is nice Yamaha RBX Fretless (super cheap - has been on loan to a friend for ages) - happy to sell Guitars Squier Telecaster (fantastic all rounder and totally plug 'n' play) - could part with it but would probably miss it Ibanez JS1200 (my favourite guitar, but played little as i'm less worried about damaging the Squier) - i love it, but don't play it that often. I wouldn't be happy parting with it, particularly as it was a gift from my family. Yamaha APX-5A (my only acoustic) - not for sale It's not loads, but I'm a one instrument kind of guy. Everything is different and has it's use. Despite this, part of me thinks I'd be better off selling stuff off and putting it towards something else I would use. Your opinions are appreciated! Mark
If you’re not selling for financial reasons, then it sounds like the only thing you should be selling is the Yamaha fretless.
-
The fundamental bottom line with anything I sell is that I need the money more than I need or want the instrument/amp/pedal/microphone/etc… If money wasn’t an issue then I doubt I would have ever sold a single piece of gear, but it’s a very personal thing to weigh up the financial or even sentimental value of something against how much you need or want it.
And the great thing about this guy is that you can go on to his youtube vids or his myspace site and depending upon what you want to learn, he gives great lesson on technique - for nowt.

Gianni Serino's vids are all taken from his youtube/myspace sites - they are 99% educational and basically show people how to play in certain styles. They are purely there for that purpose.
You and/or he have a funny understanding of the definition of “lesson”.
It is purely an illustration of a guy who is technically (and he also does some non technical but musical stuff) better than the household names, and isn't up his own arse.

…I appreciate his skills and abilities and don't think there is anyone to match him in the technical arena.
I’ve seen no evidence of this. His videos are pretty much recorded in exactly the same format that 95% of the other music virtuosos record their videos and post them on youtube; a brief spoken intro followed by a couple of minutes of ridiculous skill but lack of imagination to do anything other than w*** all over the place with it. If you think there’s no one that can match him in his technical ability, then “FFS....open your mind a little?”. I’m obviously not denying the guy’s skill and ability, but of course there are people out there and on this very forum who could give him a run for his money. You’re no different from anyone on here who’s been defending Wooten when you say “I don't think there is anyone to match him in the technical arena” about this guy – that’s exactly the same as someone saying “Wooten cannot be rivalled in terms of his technical ability”. You were telling me to open my mind, but I think you’ve got the blinkers on mate.

I’ve used both Laney and Ashdown amps a few times, and on a couple of occasions I’ve been able to get a really nice tone from the Laneys but Ashdown have always sounded like a muffled fart in a cardboard box to my ears. I’d try and get some hands on experience with both before you make a decision though.
