HHMMM tempted by this!! How would you describe the sound? I heard they are made in china how well made is it? - lee
There’s a good thread about it here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26110 Anything I tell you will be completely biased as I’m trying to sell it, but it’s a really versatile little thing. You can tune in some dirt from the pre tube or you can turn the pre down and EQ it for some really deep warm tones. It’s hard to describe tone, but whatever “tone” is, this has tons of it and tons of power There are quite a few reviews around on these, and the prices have recently gone up in the UK due to the GBP being worth about as much as the Zimbabwean dollar EDIT: I posted the wrong link

As mentioned on the Shuttle 6.0 thread, I’m downsizing my rig as it’s worth a lot and I’m not gigging at the moment and this situation doesn’t look to be changing any time soon. My UL310 has to go - This is an amazing cab and it’s truly amazingly light – 47lbs!! This is one of the original Series 1 cabs that have been argued to be “better” than the newer Series 2 cabs…something to do with where the wood is from and the drivers being different I think? Anyway, this is in fantastic condition and looks practically brand new. I’m not going to be able to ship this, so I’m looking for a firm £500 collected from Portsmouth, but I might be able to meet up within a reasonable distance. No trades please - I've got a replacement combo now and I just need the cash.

It pains me to do it, but I’m downsizing my rig as it’s worth a lot and I’m not gigging at the moment and this situation doesn’t look to be changing any time soon. So, I present to you all, my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 - You all know what it is and what it does. This is in fantastic condition and has only ever been used at gigging levels once for a 45 minute set. Cosmetically there are one or two tiny blemishes on the black paint, but these are hardly noticeable and could be marked in with a black permanent marker to make them unnoticeable if you were so inclined to do this. It includes the original Genz Benz gig bag. I’m after a firm £430 posted. I would consider a trade for an amp+cab or combo of a value up to about £300.

Also note in the conditions that he will not supply additional pictures, there's good customer service for you.
That guy sounds like a complete tosser.

VAT/import duties payable on secondhand imports?
Dubs replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
This is completely wrong unless your bass plus shipping come to under £36, the VAT threshold for items marked gift (it's £18 for items not marked gift).
I had a neck with a total value (inc. shipping) of about £75 sent to me from the US with no customs charge. The box was marked as "gift" and the value was put as something like $30. I'm not sure about the legality of this, and I didn't ask for this to happen, but I appreciated dodging the customs charge. -
Wow, I didn't know Argos did such cheap basses - so how much was your ironing board!? hehe
Just read through this whole thread. One of the best and most complete build diaries I've read. Looks like it's turning out great as well. I'm eagerly anticipating pics of the finished product...

Not another one?! 1973 4001 "Owned by Stuart Zender"
Dubs replied to xilddx's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
However I entirely fail to understand why the fact it's been played/owned by someone whose name might have appeared on someone else's album credits makes it "special". Did he coat it in magic pixie dust which will rub off on the next [s]mug[/s] owner?
+1 This person should be selling it on the fact that it's a nice 1973 Rick...nothing else. -
agreed, mine gets nervous very easily and sometimes spontaneously collapses. Not so bad when its just a shirt on there but a bass...?
Pretty much exactly like mine, although it did only cost £9 from Argos

I'm not sure I really understand the question, but acoustic basses do tend to sound a bit "twangy”, if that's the right terminology. What bass is it?

Got to love April fools Anyway, I’d have thought it would be a bit impractical to power a couple of 12AX7s from 9V batteries; would they last very long?
I thought as much... £720. Did anyone off here get it?
I was still tempted but didn't bother in the end given that he never got better quality pics to me so I couldn’t have a look at the bass from better angles and get a clearer idea of the condition. Probably for the best anyway…
