Go on the ernie ball forum and talk about the G string...I dare you.
That forum is ridiculous. They’d sing the praises of a polished piece of sh*t with an Ernie Ball logo on it.
Hi Nathan I use a Sonic Stomp. It does what it says and improves the lows and the highs. Hard to explain the sound but you get a smoother fuller bass tone, the best thing to do is play it for a while and then turn it off, you'll wonder where your tone went. I use it turned on all the time. The unit is very well made and sturdy. There are some good reviews on Talkbass or Harmony Central. I haven't tried the Aphex unit. Hope this helps Steve
I’d say exactly the same about the Aphex They do the same thing but in a slightly different way. I’d love to A/B them - I guess that would be the only way to understand how they differ.

I’m on my 2nd MusicMan (had a Stingray, got a Sterling) and I’m trying to sell it. Don’t know if I’ll buy another after this one goes. All round just not for me I think
isn't really a very useful critisism, its true of pretty much anything, a bypass strip isn't especially clever electronics, but it is repetetive and boring to make.
I think it’s quite a constructive criticism as I was just trying to make the point that this design is very simple and the designer doesn’t hold any intellectual property or rights over the fundamental mechanics of the device, so with this in consideration the £240 seems like a crazy price to be placing on the product given that you can buy something almost identical for less than half the price from a company with a good industry reputation. The fact that any amateur electronics enthusiast can make one of these for less than a 5th of the quoted price should affect the mark-up.

It looks like a bad throw-back to the dark period of 80s guitar design...
It amazes me the numers of venues who insist on a DVD and refuse to contemplate looking at anything online. Again, I think it is another very convenient hurdle for them to put in your way of getting a gig. Seems also that the better the venue, the more likely it is to happen. Logical, I suppose, as the top venues have band queueing up to play there.
If you’ve got reasonably good quality videos then it’ll take 10 minutes to put them on DVD. Pain in the arse though if you don’t have the knowhow or facilities to do so…
-
A think a video would be more applicable. They're not your songs so you don't need to sell them - you need to sell the image and professionalism of the band. A good professional website with some good videos would be better than a "demo" CD. Just my opinion, and I'm not even in a covers band
thanks for the advice but thinner wire is ok but is not that great for thickness of tone plus i have already taken orders for 5 of these. just showing 2 people at college. i can tidy up the wiring as this is prototype i didn't worry about this. 155 dollars is cheap but by the time you get it to the uk you are looking at 200 pounds. but it is all things i have to concider
Congrats on the sales. £240 is about 3 quarters more than I'd be prepared to pay for that though. I could build one myself for the cost of parts... Quick heads up – If you’re planning on manufacturing these and selling them for profit, have you put your device through the required UK and EU testing? I’m not sure about the legality of selling untested electronic products. I’m pretty sure you’d have to have some form of public liability insurance as a start… Good luck with it though. With £1200 coming in from your 5 orders, you’ve made a really good start, but I’d seriously consider cutting your costs and slashing your mark up in half if you really want to get this thing going. £240 is a crazy price IMO.
Here you go, Matt. This is exactly what came off the H4. Jan 2009. Small venue with a decent PA. H4 on its stand 8ft up on a shelf on a central pillar, about 30ft from the stage. Sorry, forgot to zero it so there's 30 secs of silence before any sound. EDIT: Erm, all songs copyright 2008 Krupa Cheers
That's really good quality considering the device. It's quite expensive for what it does but I think you're paying for the convenience/simplicity.

It’s this - http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_rockbass_..._standard_5.htm - A Rockbass Streamer Std 5. The price of these has gone up slightly recently to what you see on the Thomann site. £350 is crazy seen as it’s £65 more than what you could buy it for from Thomann. Realistically, a good price for one of these is between £150 and £200. If I were you I wouldn’t bother with that guy. These come up on eBay quite a lot and there have been a few at good prices on the forum as well. I definitely wouldn't pay more than £200 for a used one of these.

Cheers guys, not sure I'm getting it though

Just listened to The World Has Made Me The Man Of My Dreams. I f***ing loved it! It’s like the best parts of a lot of genres that I listen to a lot of the time merged into 1 with a beautiful soulful voice articulating these amazing emotions/views/opinions/feelings/stories. So many stylistic features of DnB and some electro genres; not what I expected at all but it works so well. Really great stuff. Got to listen to more...
