1. ah the woes of hardware incompatibility with Vista. Good luck...
2. Be well rehearsed. There’s nothing you can do that will benefit you more and to save the most time than to be well rehearsed. If you have to keep going over sections or re-doing songs because of f*** ups then it’s gonna take a lot longer. I’ve been involved in lots of studio sessions and would always avoid using a click with a live band. If you’re well rehearsed and you’re drummer can actually keep time then there’s no need to play to a click. If your drummer is crap then get him well rehearsed before getting him in the studio cos it could turn out to be a waste of time and money. If he’s a crap drummer then he’s not gonna cope too well with a click anyway. What’s your instrumentation? Could you track all the instrumentation live and get the vocals done separately to save time? 5 tracks in 8 hours is a very big ask. If you manage to get them recorded in that time you definitely won’t get the mixes done. I can’t emphasis how important it is to be well rehearsed if you want to save on time and money. Hope that helps, and good luck
3. That has really brightened up a sh*t morning
4. Long shot, but trades for a maple necked Sterling?
5.
It's broken. They're not exactly known for having low output.
I think this is the bottom line...
6.
No contest I win
I've seen the videos :brow:
7. imuso sell it for £320 - http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?StockCode=EG02055
8. Using a balanced connection such as an XLR will cancel out all the noise and interference that’s not being caused by the source. If the amp or monitors are causing the hum/buzzing then I’m not sure what you can do, but try using XLR cables rather than instrument cables.
9.
Mmmm. Is this in Pompey?
It is. Feel free to come and have a look during the week if you like?
10. Isn’t it ironic that I spend 6 months GASing for something that I don’t end up getting on with. Oh the irony… Up for sale is my recently acquired MusicMan Sterling. As you can see from the picture it’s black with a 3 ply B/W/B pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard. It has a few minor dings and some very light surface scratches from playing as well as a small chip missing from the high gloss polyester finish where the original strap pins were replaced with Schaller strap-locks by the original owner. This looks a lot worse in the picture than it actually is, but I’m being as honest as possible about it as I’m not looking to rip anyone off – it’s actually pretty hard for anyone to see the chip when you have the bass on, and they’d have to be standing a meter away from you and looking for it. The bass comes with the original fitted SKB MusicMan hardcase that’s in good condition. Due to the slight blemishes, I’m asking for £600. I’m happy to post at the buyer’s expense and risk - postage within mainland UK will be £30 insured up to £750. I’m also open to trades.
11.
hello. new on here, coz i'm just lookin for a streamer stage I or II. pref slightly older with the older necks. would you be interested in a trade for a 2008 sandberg california jj4? based on a fender jazz, but in all the reviews claimed to be better. active/passive 2 x jazz single coils. hard core aged at the factory. can include pics if interested. Many thanks. bear.
Sorry mate, this went about 3 months ago. I'll update the title.
12.
It's not the battery - I'm stupid but not *that* stupid . It's never been any different new battery or otherwise.
ok, I guess it’s not a simple one…
13. Change the battery? That should sort it out. You’d be amazed the difference it can make.
14. So what everyone’s saying is that there are no rules? – If it sounds good then it sounds good, if it sounds sh*t then try something different?
Try to run "effect chain order" on Google. The first link looks quite interesting.
That’s an interesting place to start I think, and that’s kind of what I was trying to get at; a simple place to start if you don’t have a clue, like me
15. This didn't hang around for long
16. I've not seen any basschatters live (well not that I know of anyway) but Urb posted a video that blew me away - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=23322 You've got to watch it all...
17. "GR8 Soapbar" pickups? - Great Soapbar pickups? "Graphite Mut"? - Graphite Nut? I can't see a picture either. I think someone's having a laugh.
18. A lot has changed since the last time I posted a pic in this thread – I don’t really know what I’m doing in terms of separate stomp boxes and signal chains as I’m used to my Pod XT Live multi-effect pedal, but I’m having a lot of fun with this. I can’t fit all my effects on it though (not that I’ll need them) so I've got a delay, a symth, and another fuzz that I can't squeeze on. Oh well... Check out my beasty practise amp :brow: I use that in the house rather than my main rig so the neighbours don’t call the police
19.
You Sir are a Basschat anorak.
guilty as charged...
20. doesnt this thread already exist? EDIT: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20977&hl
21. It's only March but I've almost bought/sold/traded more gear in 2009 than I did in 2008, and I got through a lot of gear in 2008...
22. Think of it this way; it's cheaper to spend £100 on a good flightcase than it is to have the valves replaced and the amp fixed... A good 4U flightcase here for £80 - http://www.avbits.com/acatalog/4U_Standard...light_case.html
23. I'd consider any trades on this...
24.
I read on some forum or other (don't think it was this one) that not filling in the gaps could cause the neck to bow when the strings were tightened
Not it's wrong, but I think I'd take that with a pinch of salt...
25. Not a very good effort for an ad if they're a “dealer”, but then given the lack of attention to detail and the lazy layout/format, it’s hard to tell if they're actually making money dealing basses or rather illegal recreational substances… They’re not really a reputable “dealer” of any kind with a feedback score of only 20 after 5 years of “dealing”.
