They're not known for they're cheaply priced gear are they
ahhhhhhhHHH I want to know how much they’re going to be so I can dismiss it as being out my price range and stop this f***ing GAS!! Aren’t they at NAMM today?

Amazing bass finish! Merged with Ritter Thread (same subject!)

The grain on the back of the neck looks amazing. The rest of it is...erm...interesting... -
Crazy - He'd get a better price selling them separately for sure. I’m very keen on the 2006 Thumb though :brow:
if everyone agreed to bump once a week or so, itl be a much less crowded place to be.
That's a good call. (have you changed your user name?)
I think you should only be allowed to BUMP after you have had sex (and yourself shouldnt count).
Isn't it a bit over the top to bump 3 times a day though...? :brow:
Sorry but the Tele can't recover from this I think the Squier versions take the duché bag image away from them.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo you’re on thin ice man. Don’t be dissin’ Johnny Greenwood. The guy is a f***ing legend and plays in the best band in the world (IMO!!). I think that picture is f***ing great – an iconic rock star in his prime playing an iconic guitar that has become synonymous with his name. Amazing guitarist and an amazing guitar.

I think the key is that people would be bumping someone elses thread without any mallace; they’re just commenting on your gear in a positive way and would like to draw people’s attention to is cos they think it’s a great bit of kit. What you’re effectively saying now is “thanks for the nice comments but no thanks - don’t litter my for sale thread with small talk”. Maybe the classifieds isn’t the best place to talk about the intrinsic qualities of different bits of gear or to discuss the pros and cons of the gear for sale vs something else, but I’m always very happy when people comment on my for sale thread with stuff like “great bit of kit this – have a bump on me” cos it’s positive advertising; how can that be a bad thing? Quite honestly, I couldn't give a rats arse if someone gets annoyed that they've wasted 5 seconds of their day reading a positive comment from another member in my for sale thread. I agree that people bumping their own threads should delete the old bumps to stop it becoming cluttered – that’s what I’ve started to do anyway, and I also leave it at least 24 hours and usually about 48 hours before bumping my own stuff - I think that should be standard; why bother bumping any more than that? – Everyone’s seen it so it just means they’re not interested in it.
This is the the next Bass related thing i'm buying, well after getting active eq for my Blazer. GAS free no more, bugger.
I’m trying to withold from comments like that until I can get hold of some reviews or until people on here have experience of it, and also I reckon it’s gonna cost somewhere between £800 and £1k TC Electronics don’t make cheap gear…

I think that's from Some Kind Of Monster. Great documentary – it was on More4 the other night.

I think these look great. Can't wait to read some reviews and find out how much they're gonna be retailing for. From the videos on YouTube, it sounds like they’ve properly thought about this head. I can't really understand the negativity in the other thread before anyone’s even had the chance to have a look at one. From those videos it sounds great and looks great, what’s not to like about it at the moment when no one’s had any real word experience of it?
hmmmmmmm........ could be interesting
I've just stumbled across one of these on ebay as was gonna ask about them - £500 for a brand new 300W valve amp?! Where's the catch? I suspect the catch is that the components are shyte and they've been put together by 11 year old kids in a Chinese factory... It’s almost worth a punt cos it might be amazing, but what are the chances?
-
I don't think they're pull-offs. To me it sounds like it's all fingered but opens up to the open string every now and again - same sort of technique that Chris Wolstenholme uses in some Muse songs, like Hysteria and Hyper Music for example. I could be wrong though...
Let me weigh in here and say that "apoonian" (Andy) is a great guy and fantastic player, hope he sticks around!
Thanks Mike This seems to be a done deal ATM – Andy’s going to get back to me later on about collection or postage options.

'All original'. What does it actually mean....?

I'd vote #1 too... -
Nice bass! I been looking for one of these for a while- I also have a Hudson fretless 5 String for sale if you r interested in a swap? If not, I would like to buy this bass so let me know if its still available and we can arrange something, cheers
It is indeed available Your fretless looks great, but unfortunately neither 5 string or fretless is my thing, so I’d be looking for a straight sale if you’re still interested? I’ll send you a PM…

I think this has been linked in another thread, but yeah, it's an odd one. "Fugly" springs to mind as an appropriate adjective to describe this bass. The moral of this story is "stick to what you know best"...

I listed this as a “feeler” a few months ago but ended up withdrawing it because I just couldn’t bare to part with it, but now I need the cash and this is getting the least amount of use so it’s back up for sale, and that’s a definite sale; I’m not “feeling” around this time There was a lot of interest in this before and I’m very sorry for those that were interested when I withdrew it. The original thread is here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=30257&hl= - and there are pictures in this thread as well, so check it out. I’m still asking for £210 collected or £225 posted – the bass is in Portsmouth and I may be able to deliver/meet up within the local(ish) area. PS – this is definitely for sale
no. there would be 100 owners. They all just agree that one person keeps it at their house ...indefinitely. How is that a lottery?
The name is drawn out of a hat at random. To me that sounds like a lottery with 100/1 chance of “winning”. Anyhow, if I wasn’t “nominated” to keep the bass at my house then I wouldn’t agree to it being kept at anyone else’s
I was also going to suggest that our favourite Warwick Vampyre seller draw the raffle
Best idea yet! It's a real shame this can't happen. What does the law say about the possibility that the raffle/lottery could take place at one of the larger Basschat bashes? If 100 people pay a tenner cash on the day and the draw is made on the day, would that be legal? Also, it would mean that everyone who entered would be an eyewitness to the draw, and logistically and from an admin point of view it would be so much easier to organise…
I've only ever played Warwicks made in the past few years & all have had chunky necks.
If that’s your experience then fair doos. I’ve played all sorts of Warwicks and for me the year they were made has never properly correlated with the chunkyness/thickness of the neck.
I have to say, guys - not to knock any of your DIY in any way, but with the range of pedalboards available on the market today at all price points there really should be something pre-fab to suit you budget.
I know what you’re saying man, but it’s not all about the practicality; sad as it may be, I enjoy the process and the achievement of building something with my own hands. As well as that, I’ve only spent £2.50 on parts – what pedalboard can you buy for £2.50? I’m not really making anything technical. It’s just a carpeted angled board with slots like a Pedaltrain – just a bit of fun.
