1. this is also being advertised here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=34616
  2. Sounds like a grounding issue. How old is the bass? Was the active circuit factory fitted (i.e. is it standard)? ...if not, did you fit the active circuit yourself?
  3.
We play basses, not armchairs, so whatever goes.....goes.
Yeah I kind of agree, but I thought it was funny
  4. I’m not so sure that this would have been a pro job…
  5.
I missed that Ben but PMd you back now.
No worries
  6. Did you get my PM on the 14th? Not received a reply...
  7.
I'd really like to see a pic of the repair job if thats cool?
Sorry mate, I didn’t see this before. I’ve just taken some pics of it: It’s been broken and repaired since the first time it got repaired (due to a complete f***wit at uni) and the 2nd repair job wasn’t as good as the first, but it’s still great and I can’t feel it at all when I’m playing it. Just have to be careful from now on…
  8. Just found these pics and thought I’d restart the thread The guitarist in my old band (3 bands ago!!) lent this up on his amp after soundcheck and right on cue the thing pummelled to the ground resulting in this: Botch job emergency repairs with sh*t glue done this: And baz ended up looking like this: Anyone else got pics of their broken gear? (or is it just me that breaks things? )
  9.
Diarra eh? Least he was up front about it, unlike someone else I could [s]stab like the c*** he is[/s] mention. EDIT: What's wrong with being a c***? Unless you've got a face like an old leather satchel.
I’ve got no beef with Diarra cos on the day he joined the club he told the press he didn’t want to stay here and wanted bigger and better things, and £20m+ is silly money for someone we picked up for less than a quarter of that. I think Lauren is being a c*** though. He should shut the f*** up.
  10.
Get a Spector.
I heard they were for c**ts, or was that Warwicks? I'm a c*** so maybe they're both for c**ts I feel a need for something different in my bass arsenal and I’m missing the Musicman sound :brow: I’ve played a few Sterlings recently and loved every one. I was GASing for a Sterling a little while ago and I’m feeling another GAS attack coming on…
  11. I'd also be interested in a Musicman Sterling...

    Pro Tools 8

ahh, with reviews like that I'll have to upgrade now
  13. Sorry for the late replies to a couple of PMs I had waiting for me; I’ve just got back from a random 48 hour binge in London. I’m now skint
  14.
Just to say, Ben is a legend to deal with and this bass for it's age is in damn good condition and Ben has done a great job of restoring it further.
Thanks mate, really appreciate that. It’s a shame this has happened cos it’s a great bass and I’ve been trying to make it my regular, but I find my hand going for the SSI more than this so I don’t think there’s a lot of point me keeping hold of such a great instrument if it’s not gonna get played. It’s definitely a players bass, not a collectors piece…
Are you missing a bit o' the old Thumb action? :brow: Plenty of nice NTs around at the moment....
yeah a bit… I’ve been eyeing up one or two but I’m not holding my breath. I’ll just take things as they come and see what turns up. Fingers crossed...
  15. A picture (because I can't sleep) Maybe I need a couple of Lysdexia's models? :brow:
  16. No long explanations; after a couple of months with this I think I’m looking for something slightly different, possibly an older Warwick NT (Streamer or Thumb). Only really interested in trades but will accept cash if it means I can buy the bass I want. I’m not after top dolla for this as I got it for a steal, but I have spent a good few hours on touching up some blemishes. Can’t really say a lot more about this bass other than it sounds bloody fantastic and it will come with an aluminium Warwick flightcase. Anyone interested? EDIT: Picture added below. This is a '98 with a wenge neck.
  17. how do you date a knob? (anticipating a really crap nob joke...)
  18.
Imagine a man that could burn a house down by putting up a picture..... Now imagine him with a soldering iron trying to make a pedal good enough to use on stage.....
19.
Hey guys, I assume you are fluent in Japanese? Give him a break, even if the neck repair does look a little rustic!
I’m sure his English is at least a million times better than my Japanese, and it might even be better than my English occasionally
  20. looks like this guy has been using a free online translation service
  21. Once you start giving merch away you may find it hard to sell any when you want to start charging people for stuff - if you build up a large fan base and realised there's a bit of money to me made, you may have thrown that potential away by giving yourself a reputation for giving merch away for free. I think cheap things like badges would work, maybe not calendars or t-shirts though. It could work for you though, only one way to find out...
  22.
Right then rules. 1. You pay for postage to pick it up (if you can pick up yourself WIN), Then when someone else wants it they pay for it to be picked up. 2. You have to put a sticker on it before it leaves you then post on here what sticker you put on it. Sound good?
Sounds good to me. When johnnylager gets it down on the south coast then I’ll borrow it off him for a week or so, but it’s getting a Pompey sticker
  23.
I'll also make sure yours comes back covered in Pompey stickers n'all mush.
...or not at all It’s really generous of you to do this Wayne, nice one
  24. If you can’t do it with 4 then you’re not trying hard enough
  25.
For a new bass, see if you can get an deal (or stretch the budget) to an Ibanez SR505. A brilliant bass for the money and feels like a light Warwick. They have very decent electronics, too. The string spacing is narrower, but they are easy to play. (http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/ibanez-sr-505/11055)
That's a good shout. I've played a 4 string version and loved it. http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/ibanez-sr-500/11054 - That's bloody great value! Tempting...if I had any money at all
