EHX Micro POG

Yeah I’ve tried one and loved it; was so much fun. Not sure I’d pay £120 for it though – I can’t see that it has many practical applications for me. I’d definitely buy one if I had a lot of money burning a hole in my pocket though cos they’re great at what they do.
  4.
Just get a Warwick. Everybody likes Warwicks, especially the necks.
Yes, never a truer word spoken within the realms of BassChat!
  5. Mines the same as Jake and Ped – don’t buy stuff I don’t really need/want and end up selling it, although I think I might sell a bass in the not too distant future
  6. A picture update – I collected my neck from the Royal Mail (Royal Fail?) earlier. It looks and feels great, although obviously I’ve not used it yet It’s lovely and thin like all good Jazz necks should be, and has some nice looking grain patterns:
  7. axesrus are pretty good for all kinds of parts - http://www.axesrus.com/ - great UK site with free shipping on everything to UK mainland addresses
  8.
It had pictures and info on it only an hour or so ago! Hmmmm
yeah I saw this about an hour ago as well
  9.
May i add that my transaction with Allen worked out fine so before he his condemned to the pit of eternal shame here can we offer the opportunity for him to resolve this now, not sure how long the issue has been but lets hope we hear from him before say Monday 8th Dec?
He was watching this thread last night...
  10.
Right now it offers 'Dead Slow' and 'Stop'. I don't think the dilithium crystals will last much longer ...
Maybe it needs a new Flux Capacitor?
  11.
Always sad to hear when deals go wrong. Hopefully Allen_Baker will see the error of his ways before the wrath of BC falls upon him JakeBass stylee.
plus the 1 Looks like another BC member is about to be ostracized…
  12.
Steady,I didn't say properly just the way I do it.
ok, well you’ve probably got a better idea of how to do it than I do
  13.
No trouble. When you get round to finishing it if you have any questions drop me a mail and I can tell you how I go about it. Alan
Much appreciated There are a few things I’m looking into at the moment (different types of lacquers), but I’m getting a few weeks ahead of myself. It would be great to hear how it’s done properly
  14.
You would be better with a hard finish on the Redwood as it is usually pretty soft so would dent very easily. At least that is my experience with the Redwood I have. Alan
Yeah it does seem pretty soft – there are a few dings that I have to get out of it before I finish it. Thanks for the advice.
  15. I think my neck arrived today but I wasn't bloody in to sign for it I'll have my grubby mitts on it tomorrow though :brow: It might be time to order the rest of my parts (mostly hardware)…
  16. I know a few of the earlier Streamers had catastrophic neck issues, but these were more obvious than an intonation problem. If the guys at The Gallery are saying it’s all good, then maybe it is all good? If you know that it’s definitely got some issues then maybe take it in and show them exactly what the problems are. If you can get them to see/hear the problems with you there then maybe they’ll get a better understanding of exactly what it is that’s not quite right. Did you show them the problem when you gave it to them before, or tell them about it and hand the bass over to be looked at?
  17.
you know what, it looks better in the flesh than in those photos
always the way
  18.
That assumes they don't have fixed price deals on their inventory / incoming stock. It doesn't seem very sensible for me to be an import business that hasn't agreed a sliding scale of cost based on exchange rates.
They’ll still incur extra costs though. You won’t be able to agree an import deal that guarantees the strength of the currency you’re paying in indefinitely. I know what you’re saying though.
  19.
"Over the past few weeks and even days, we have encountered prices rises from our suppliers of 10, 20 and even 30%, some effective immediately. These rises have been mainly fuelled by the falling value of the pound against US$ , Euro and the Yen. We have resisted increasing our own prices until, as and when we have to replenish depleted stocks. With the help of the blanket 2 1/2% VAT cut announced by the chancellor effective 1st December 2008 we hope to hold our present prices till the end of the year and in some cases till the end of January. There will inevitably be exceptions but we will endeavour to do our best. That said if there are any deals to be done and we are able to pass discounts onto customers you can rest assured we will do that too!"
That sounds very fair IMO, and realistically they're still worse off now with the 2.5% VAT reduction than they were 4 months ago with the strong pound vs US$. A guess you have to weigh it up like this; either a 30% price increase with a 2.5% reduction in VAT, or no price increase and no 2.5% VAT reduction? I know what I’d prefer as a consumer. No brainer really.
  20. I’m sure a few retailers will be charging normal prices, and then giving the tax man a 15% VAT, so effectively pocketing the 2.5% discount. In all honesty, I don’t really mind this as it will help keep small businesses afloat.
  21.
Wow, I always though these were as rare as hens teeth over here but what do you know, two appear on here at the same time and for the same price Bloody amazing
It's the same one, isn't it? I'd be interested to see a few pics though mate.
  22.
I was one of those watchers - but I couldn't work out why I needed it more than the Warwick Corvette I already own (oh, and I didn't have the cash at the time either...). If you have an answer though, then I'm interested in hearing it :-)
Do you have the passive Corvette Std? This is a completely different beast, and will sound like a ‘proper’ Warwick. Plus, Streamers look cool
  23.
No problem - undo all the screws and throw the bits in the bin. Fixed.
Alternatively, take a small axe to it and chop it up into fire wood
