Amazingly expensive! I could import one brand spanking new with the machine heads from the USA for less than that!...and I wouldn't drill through the f***ing fingerboard when I fit it... Looks like I'm getting one from the states then
The art of musicianship...?
...just turn up where you're meant to be (or have been told to be) on time - isn't that the fundimental rule of general musicianship? oh yeah, and don't f*** up I agree with pretty much everything you've said in your video though, especially about listening to what is going on around you

isn't there a few thread on this bass now?
now on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=140279320804 will accept £1975 shipped to a Basschatter to avoid the dreaded paypal fees.
Do you know how much would it be worth if it were fully original? (genuine question [I’m not trying to be a prick], I have no real idea of the value of old Fenders and I am genuinely interested to know)

odd, seeing as the seller is an experienced ebayer with 100% positive feedback from 313 people...
I had an e-mail from Peavey yesterday saying they "couldn't find" my bass! Aye caramba! I was very polite in my response as I'd like it fixed nicely and sent back.
if they can't find it you should tell them that you have an emotional attachment to the bass that is financially immeasurable...
Hmm, keep an eye out, i've seen a couple of maple jazz necks on there before, and i've only really looked a handful of times. Alternatively you could go on the mightymite site, get some contact details and just ask them who their UK distributer/dealer is.
You know what, I can’t for the life of me think why I haven’t done this (it’s what I usually do…)
Or this? 2909 maple. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-2909-JAZZ-J-B...p3286.m63.l1177
Yeah that’s who I’m going to order from if I have to get it from the states, but I have PayPal issues (long story…) so I’d have to use my girlfriends account that is only verified on the house that we’re about to move out on and she would have to pay with an e-cheque which will take 10 days to clear so the chances are that the neck will be delivered after we have moved out which will mean asking the landlord if he could ship it to me and leaving him some cash to do it, which I don’t want to do as it will end up costing another tenner on top of the $105 (ish) for it to be delivered to my door + any import duty, but it’s what I will end up doing once I have moved out of this house and I know where I’m going to be for at least a month

I’ve been trying to source a UK distributer for a Mighty Mite Jazz Bass neck (specifically maple - part number 2909) for the last couple of days and I’ve had no luck. Does anyone know where to get one in the UK? For a few reasons (including time scale because I’m moving out of my current house in 2 and a half weeks) I don’t want to have to end up ordering one from the jolly ol’ US of A. Any pointers will be appreciated Thanks…
i personally hated the disortion that was built in, but it sounded superb through a big muff and a boss metal zone
+1 I think the distortion sounds pretty sh*t but the octave shifting stuff can be pretty funky. Here's a quick sample I just did on the girlfriends laptop (sorry for the sh*t bass sound )... The first sound is my clean bass sound, then it's the uni bass with the distortion high in the mix, then I cut the distortion, then I clicked in the "Modify" with the upper 5th, and the last sound is the "Modify" with the lower 4th. I probably could have made it sound better...
Does the pedal first pitch-shift down, then distort the signal, then mix it back into the original unchanged signal? So that you get an interval, with one of the notes of the interval being distorted?
I don't really get what you're saying, but I'll do some sound clips later...

just seen this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Akai-UB-1-Unibass-Ha...id=p3286.c0.m14 I think this guy is being at least 100% too optimistic. I bought mine mint off this forum for about £75 a couple of months ago. I know these aren’t as sought after as the Deep Impact, but maybe he doesn’t?

I bought this in the end; it will come in handy in the very near future…:brow:
