Ashdown rock!! Seriously good amps and I haven't had single spot of bother with my ABM and it sounds fantastic, plus they have the best customer support I have ever come across. (some c**t nicked one of the knobs and the ends of the eq sliders off the front of mine while it was at my old bands pratice rooms - contacted ashdown to see how much replacements would be and they sent me the lot free of charge the next day!!)

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
Nice - I'm looking for a reasonable priced (read cheap) flanger for a couple of songs we cover, is the Behringer worth a punt? Whats the setup withyour A/B box and looper?
It's not that great to be honest - I use it occasionally when I'm using my fretless and it sounds OK, but it's quite thin and metallic sounding and only really does subtle flange- it's awesome with the looper in feedback mode though, makes some crazy sounds. It's something I'll probably be replacing in the future though as I tend to use my phaser a hell of a lot more. The A/B box is just used as a tuner mute and the looper a true bypass for the pedals I have that suck tone (most of them) plus one sound I use a lot is with the Jackhammer running through the Wah about 75% of the way forward then thorugh the bad monkey and then the phaser - it's an awesome synthy distorted sound but a complete pain to switch to from clean, so the looper kind of comes in handy for that. -

My pedals kind of outgrew my old board, so I knocked together a new one out of some wood I had lying around: -
johnnyshredfreak sells them http://www.johnnyshredfreak.com/store/inde...df08092e05198be

I used to put mine in front of my compressor.
Their power supplies are ridiculously marked up too... especially as you can get the identical unit from johnnyshreadfreak - they are just laptop power supplies at the end of the day...
Johnnyshredfreak don't seem to have them listed on the site anymore. I bought one a while ago and was looking to get another one They do sell some pedalboard attachment stuff that looks quite nifty though - http://www.johnnyshredfreak.com/store/inde...df08092e05198be and +1 for the bit of 12mm ply - I found my pedalboard in a skip.
Thank you. Yes. A good amp should give you a useable basic tone without having to crank the sh!t out of all the EQ knobs, sliders, buttons, whatever. Especially when you don't have the brain power to figure out a mix of sliders and rotary controls, apparently.
What a load of bullshit If you can get a good sound out of an amp, whether you need EQ to get there or not is highly irrelevant.

I think an ABM 900 plus 2 810's is my ultimate rig.
-
Umm, can't the 900 run 2 Vintages?
Yup - the 900 is basically the ABM pre with 2 500 watt power amps.

Who was playing a wedding at Minster Lovell on Saturday Night?

Well............ I was in Oxfordshire but not playing a wedding not me. -
Hey, I'm sorting out the gear I want to get and for a long time now I've been switching between rig ideas, but I've just thought of something else. Can you mix two MAG 810 cabs with an Ashdown 600H? If anyone has any knowledge about this, or any advice than please comment :-)
No - as far as I know the 600H will only take a 4ohm minimum load, and as the MAG 810 are 4 ohm each that would give a load of 2ohm and probably fry the head.

I wanted some Qtuners for my Ibanez but they're the wrong size

+1 for the Peavey

Unused fingers, and what to do with them
I've just realised that I have no idea which fingers I use on my plucking hand, and what the others are doing on their time-off! I'll have to play infront of the mirror when I get home tonight.
what you do in your own time is your business -
Pretty much was I was saying - and I agree the Kubicki system solves the problem , always fancied one. As someone said though you can't part with 50 brick and install that system on just about any bass you fancy. I suppose my issue with the hipshot opens up the 5 string debate or playing a 4 string in drop d tuning. Hipshots work very well BUT are they the answer to your problems?
Yes - if your problem is switching from E tuning to drop D on one bass with the minimal amount of fuss.
-
I had one installed for a short while but found the shifted tuning too confusing. It was basically a case of 'aim two frets higher than normal on the bottom string' whenever it was in dropped mode. Maybe it was a harder for me as I'm used to the drop-D on a Kubicki Factor where everything stays the same. A much better system in my opinion!
Drop D tuning opens up a whole load of possibilities notewise - I find it very useful for writing heavier riffs. That said I have been switchin between drop d and standard tuning ever since I started playing guitar and bass.
Anyone (apart from Michael Manring) fitted more than one to the same bass? Is there even room on the headstock of your average bass?
definitely not on fender style headstocks.

Looking for a good overdrive (nothing too over the top)

another +1 for the bad monkey - it's a cool colour as well. -
know how you feel ! do let us know how you get on with the enigma if you do get one.
I will be ordering one next week when I get paid - I'll post my thoughts up here after I've had a chance to get to grips with it. I think I might need to get an expression pedal to go with it as well - that function looks pretty kick ass!!
-
it's in 12/8 but split into measures of 7/8 & 5/8 - I think where you think the time signature changes it goes into a standard 12/8
-
These pedals look awesome - I think I'm going to get one even though it will mean getting a bigger pedal board (I have no room left on mine).
