People do great copies of Art master pieces too No comparison at all and i hope all the amazing copyists of the world are using their talent to create something unique themselves otherwise what a waste i know some great players who if you say make something up for that bit they can't or sound awful

But the punters stand and say "the sound was a bit muddy " or " i couldnt hear the guitar " etc .Not always the fault of an instrument but the more attention you give stuff the better the chance to sound good .

True it was more pre Gig that i noticed i had to spend a few quid on my gear once i was gigging regular Earth hums ,quiet G strings ,crackly inputs ,bad leads ,bad DI output .etc . Stuff like a Radial DI box and a Sadowsky bass sorts those issues out in an instant

It has ,the rise in popularity of the big ones has created a market for more small local ones which suit the older traditional festival goer

My era was 1999-2003 ,top top bands ,way less punters .You can cap it ,i'd say

Sounds like the whole vibe of that sailed by which is fine .Two completely different bands who are close friends who knocked something up and its a South Park show so the Music Police need to go and mow the lawn really I bet Geddy loved a night off on stage with his bass and mates I love both bands and was looking forward to the uk Primus shows as just a one off mad experience i must have missed the 30 years of Primus rush covers

Del used to be on Facebook ,that Alembic you saw was maybe the bass on the early tour ?. It was in fact another brand and he did tell me what on FB but ive forgotten A 70s British builder donated them

My Sadowsky mij metro Jazz doesn't either .I never use active its just got a pure immense tone from the single volume pot. The pick up mix pot is very responsive for tone changes but generally its just a pure tone to tweak away from the bass

We're all old timers ,we like a laugh and are really laid back as in we don't get stressed or moan about stuff .We'll let anything go ONCE .late for gig, forget a song ,drunk,duff lead,duff amp etc ,etc etc What we will not take is slackers ,liars and people who dont respect the others .We have good gear and learn stuff in time to get the job done

I Like chopping and changing my basses at gigs and there is noticeable differences ,i cant be doing with buzzing or jack problems etc etc though The best sounding gig bass by a good way is my Sadowsky metro uv70 ,just played passive ,killer tone across the neck ,tight punch bottom end and sweet tops
