Out tonight,3rd gig since lift of restrictions first indoors and a we've done the bar before so no idea how its on . We load in a seperate door then i'm staying well clear of the locals
-
That tone shouldnt work on a 3 piece but with Peart's help it does i remember late 80s gigs where the recorded bass sound didn't produce in a big hall but since Rush 30 his live tone has been unreal Seem with Claypool, that top end fuzz cut but with bottom to match

doubt i'll ever listen to a tune but i can watch people like this all day
-
On a side note and drummers ,check out this clip which has eventually found its way to Youtube .It was on my Sky box for months until it disappeared Hang around for the solo from about 4mins

Yup,not sure what his Dad was doing at his age ? getting by probably .Plenty time and a good future

What you think is just what you think and like your post earlier which was good reading and funny its just your take on it . Its more about the paths people chose when they decide to play .The great writers, pop or otherwise, don't need to be great players ,they employ the great players .For every every great pop song there follows 100 soundalikes because everyone loved the great one .Capaldi has a hit ,5 more sound a likes get signed . Lets face it we aren't living in the golden era of great Pop . Just good to see and hear players getting together and pushing themselves a bit without the ££ and overnight success being the driver. The stuff i've watched of these is without Misch so more music only based .We can all dissect why someone wears that or has that haircut or guitar and even why they are doing it but Heavy metal,RnB, Rap etc makes for far more entertaining analysis ..I think these guys know their market and there seems to be a healthy scene from what i've seen on my YouTube sessions over a few drinks

Haven't watched this vid but like all the people in it from watching Studio based live stuff on You Tube It's the drumming that tends to draw me and reading some comments on here i think its a bit of a shame when young(ish) musicians keep well away from Pop drivel and do serious stuff which will never make them rich and still get stick for it ..

Why do some BC sellers insist on buyer arranging courier?
jazzmanb replied to Clarky's topic in General Discussion
Although you try to be helpful to potential buyers ,sellers can dig holes from themselves if they don't sell under their terms ." Uk only for example" ,then you get asked how much to Poland ?? The biggest thing is to hand the risk to the buyer ,if they want cheapest quote courier company let them go for it . -
Yeah, its right out there and has to be = pressure ! same with the two bass runs on Good times Bad times by Zep and the Bass solo in Know one knows

It hasn't alienated all the Fender looky like players out there thus far with their slant on a different head stock .To be fair they've all wandered not too far from the blueprint fender style
-
I Spotted the bass on youtube being played by the tapping guy (very well) ,the headstock looked different so I knew it was a lesser known builder but given who was playing thought it must be a decent builder .I Don't love or hate the headstock ,its just different .Like all the nearly Fenders are.Different like a Bongo is,different like a Dingwall is . I really don't like the shape of a bongo or a good chunk of basses out there. Some costing 1000s but someone clearly does . I don't like the look of most of the Fenderlikes again some costing a lot of money but clearly some do .I Don't see why BITE and their headstock can't have a place . Some will like it some will not .
-
Like every other nearly Fender builder out there .They have only mentioned the headstock because its been slated and they've answered with why its that's way.If you think its codswallop so be it .Just seems way way over the top the way they are being grilled .Not everyone's cup of tea ,fair enough

Am I right in thinking all these people have done is design a bass and are selling it ? We seem to have a major issue with that on here 🙄
-
Playing since 79 ,always loved listening to good songs with good bass and trying to copy .Then started writing songs and gigging ,then doing covers again .All that floats my boat ..Witnessed all the fads and had a little jaw drop to them all then cracked on .I Admire and respect the talented bass people out there with all their tricks and techniques but its card tricks to me ,like a little magic show .You can't hum a single one of the tunes they knock out . Don't know if its mentioned on here Rush Time stands still film is on Sky arts now
-
We missed primus ,it was still the days of "no one watches the support band " Rush's sound was pretty grim (Glasgow) .R30 was my first awesome Rush live gig
-
Our newest song its probably mid 90s !
-
We used to play the full version ,1 guitar bass and drums did a canny job
-
similar to the one I came up with inc short headstock but black hardware to match .We're so used to the Fender head stock, its a design classic that its really hard to accept anything other than imitations of it.The headstock is what made me say "what is that ?" when I saw the bass on youtube
-
It does, on the "sh" neck option the headstock is smaller

Band mates ,two are good for a bit crack at gigs ,two aren't . Band wise there's no friction,if there was i'd look for another band
