Today I've destroyed the tip of my left middle finger.
itsmedunc replied to Jackroadkill's topic in General Discussion
A couple of months ago I was out having a pint and ended up talking to a lass who was a bass player, she was back in England visiting her family. After a while she mentioned that the tip of her middle finger was mostly missing. She had been bitten by a dog. I’ve forgotten the exact details of the story now but when she was learning bass she went to see Marcus Miller somewhere. She ended up meeting him and asked him if he could give her any advice. She gave him her email address never expecting a reply. Much to her surprise he did get back on numerous occasions with tailored videos and advice on how she could improvise her playing technique. She couldn’t sing his praises enough. What a good lad! -
Just bought a tuner from Andy. It arrived rapid and exactly as described. Great communication and a pleasant fella to deal with too 😁 What else could you ask for? Thanks Andy!

I’ve owned this for a long time. A mate borrowed it from me decades ago and I’ve just got it back today 😂 I’ve absolutely no use for it and so it’s up on here. It must be early 70’s, it is playable and the electrics work. 34 scale and is probably under 9lb. I do not know what the body is made of. Its about 41mm at the nut. It’s not a pro bass, it’s a quirky 70’s made in Japan bass that’s been played many many times. It has dings and scratches and needs some tlc. It’s also cheap. Trade - 5/6u shallow rack case, rack tuner. £50 collected from Blackburn Lancs. I may post if the buyer arranges their own courier etc.

Getting an older version of Logic X Pro from the App Store and onto an older machine isn’t always as straightforward but the solution is easily found via a Google search and YouTube videos.
-
I don’t know what version of Logic X Pro has to be used but - If money is a real issue, a 2011 iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6 will run Logic X Pro easily. I picked a 2011 27” 32gb ram, 500gb SSD and a second 1tb hdd for £300 years ago. You could probably get one with a similar spec for much less now if you look around. It still works perfectly well. A 2012 MacBook Pro with Catalina also runs Logic Pro X perfectly well. They’ll take 16gb ram and a 1tb SSD. I own both for Logic X and Waves Plug-in Suite and have never felt the need to spend any more money. Older systems get the max RAM and SSD size you can afford. Plug-ins like RAM and projects and programs (especially Waves) take up a lot of HDD space.

Here’s my Markbass Marcus Gold Line Limited 800 in it’s ‘live’ in’ MB carry case. A great versatile and powerful amp. RMS 800w @ 4 Ohm and 500w @ 8 Ohm. Good condition, everything works as it should. There’s some Velcro on it in the photos which I will remove 😁 Up for sale through no fault of its own. I’ve gone back to a two stack setup and so I’m looking at ways to simplify my set up so I only need to carry one amp and one cab. The ShuttleMax 9.2 / 12.2 etc seem to tick all the boxes. Please let me know if you have something similar you wish to trade though. Official Markbass blurb https://www.markbass.it/product/marcus-limited-800/ Collection and trial from Blackburn Lancs, possible meet depending on distance and timing. Happy to discuss postage.

I’m sure Joe Meek will need little introduction on here. Really nice half rack Compressor EQ with original power supply. All works as is should. Some signs of use but not abuse. It’s served me well for a number of years now but it’s getting very little use now. £135 delivered to mainland UK or £125 picked up from Blackburn Lancs. May trade. Try me.

Great interface that has served me well for a few years now. I’ve just got an XR18 and so this is now surplus. It’s in good condition But has some rack rash as can be seen in the pics. I’ve only ever used it with Mac on OSX High Sierra 10.13.6 and Ventura with DAW Logic X Pro 10.4.1 and so can’t speak for anything else. Here’s what Focusrite say - The Liquid Saffire 56 hardware interface provides the means for connecting microphones, line-level signals, instrument-level signals, and digital signals to your computer, which are then routed to your audio recording software / digital audio workstation (DAW). The Liquid Saffire 56 features two Liquid Pre-amps. ‘Liquid’ refers to our hybrid microphone pre-amplifier technology, matching high quality Focusrite Mic pre design with meticulously sampled pre-amp emulations transporting classic front-end processing into the digital age. All audio signals connected to the inputs, plus audio output from your computer programs are routed to the physical outputs for you to connect to an amp and speakers, powered monitors, headphones, analogue/digital mixer, and any other studio equipment that you wish to use. There are also connectors for sending and receiving MIDI. The accompanying software application, Saffire MixControl provides further recording, routing and monitoring options, as well as the ability to control global hardware settings such as sample rate and synchronisation. Saffire MixControl software provides mixing and routing to and from the DAW, allowing control over which signals are sent from the sequencer to each output. All inputs on the Liquid Saffire 56 are routed directly to your DAW software for recording, but Saffire MixControl also allows you to route these signals to your monitors so that you can listen to the audio signals with zero latency - before they arrive at your DAW. Pick up from Blackburn Lancs or will post at buyers cost.

I had this up for sale a while ago and decided to keep it. I need a desk more now and so, it’s up for sale again. It’s wearing the new Fender rounds that were released recently especially for the VI. They sound great to me and make the VI sound just like a traditional bass in my opinion. There’s no damage to speak of (I can’t find any), although it is used and so is not pristine. No nasty gouges, scratches or surprises either. The Trem arm comes with it as does the original bridge. It’s still in the bag with the gubbins. I’ve never used it. There’s a set of La Bella flats somewhere too if I can find them. They were fitted when I got it. I cannot guarantee they will go back on though. You can see some silk under the top E at the nut it’s there to stop a little rattle. I’m not too au faire with with VI’s and Staytrem bridges and that was my solution 😁 Collection and trial from BB22SH preferred but meet up possible dependent on distance and availability. Postage at buyers cost and risk but will be packed securely for transit. Trade P Bass preferably white / maple, MB Multiamp, MB head, Genz ShuttleMax. Try me.

A valiant effort though! Much appreciated too 😁 Every time I sell something I regret it anyway 😂 I end up needing it again immediately. It could lie there for years untouched, sell it, have to buy it again for double! Recently I had a cheap Greg Bennett semi for sale but for once had the good sense to withdraw it. Gigged with it last week and it’s become number one 😂 folk who have been watching us for years were asking what bass was that, as it’s the best bass sound they’ve heard! One fella who knows me too well made me promise never to sell it 😂 It’s BC, it’s the Hotel California 😂

May trade for rack mixer like a above. Hardly used. There are some marks/light scratches on the glass fascia though. These do not affect operation or obscure the screen view in any way. The drummer decided not to put it away in it's box for the last couple of years but to put it in a drawer at home instead. Of course this is the type of thing that you would normally do, especially when an item doesn't in fact belong to you However, It's all still working and he never actually used it. As above, in great condition. These are fantastic cabs handmade in Italy. Their quality is outstanding. I believe it was over £1400 when new. This is a link to the recently released MK2 version (the cab for sale is a MK1) https://www.atsitaly.it/gb/light-series/56-b410-ed-eg.html Only selling as I now have a BF Super Twin 4ohm and so don’t really need another cab. May trade. BF Super Compact or similar, Precision. Try me. Delivery at buyers cost and risk but will be well packaged fot transit. May meet up depending on distance and time. Collection and trial welcomed from Blackburn Lancs.

The flight case arrived and the good lady didn’t even bat an eye lid? She’s ordered something mad again. She must have. All the dogs will have new jumpers or something like that. Dam it, I could have bought something really extravagant 😂

I didn't know resorts were a thing either or how it came about? How does a 15 piece manage to find a stage big enough to play on! I don't think they care about a stage. They seem to stand on tables and wander about the venue with the audience

Hi James and welcome to Basschat! The big band element caught my eye. There’s a young chap called George Barnes doing the same over here and is doing a tour of ski resorts over in France /Switzerland in the summer I believe. I can’t remember their name off hand but it does look like great fun. A whole different experience. You’ll find plenty of gear for sale on here! It becomes addictive though😂 Edit - They are called Hot Piece of Brass. Instagram Hot Piece Of Brass_Bristol

I’ve managed to get the PA speaker to the singers house! Job done 😀 Almost….. When I got home , I realised that the singer has put the box with all the packaging back in the van 😬 I now have to dispose of the box. But where? 😂
