Extracting The Urine For Strings
itsmedunc replied to WHUFC BASS's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I've not played on one for many years. I suppose the ones I did play on would now be considered vintage! I'm sure they make some fine instruments but the ones I played on were akin to a piece of slate baton nailed to a cupboard door. Blummin horrible. I can't remember ever having GAS for a Rick as a result! 😀 -

itsmedunc replied to bartelby's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I don't think it will be much bother for me to pick it up for you and stick it in the post if you win. I'd check with the buyer he will accept PayPal etc with personal collection though. Send me a PM if you are interested. 😀 I've got plenty of packaging and rubble bags if needed! -

Difficult to tell 100% with all the dirt etc but it looks like the truss rod is accessed at both ends of the neck! If that's true then it's firewood (if it's not already). Another neck on a battered split body. Bridge and tuners might be salvageable but that's about it. The neck plate isn't like the one on mine. This looks like it's cheaply plated where mine looks a solid plate. It looks a bit odd all round really. Wrong pups, if indeed they are pups and not noggins of charred wood! It's only a mile or so from me so I might ask to go and see it, just to see if it's that bad in the flesh. 😂😂😂😂 -
I've got a Selmer Treble n Bass 50w head and a 15" TKS 450w cab. When paired they sound awful with weird distortion that sounds like the speaker has blown. The Selmer has an out of 7.5 ohm which is connected to the 8ohm TKS. When the Selmer is used with an 8ohm 1x10 Ashdown cab it sounds great with plenty of volume and the same when connected to a Hartke 4x10. When the TKS is paired with another head that sounds great too. No nastiness in any scenario apart from when the Selmer and TKS are paired. I've changed all the leads etc but still no joy. Anyone any ideas? I'm stumped. 😳

"I bought this earlier this year - and promptly ruined any chance of succeeding with the 2919 gear abstinence challenge" Blummin heck, you've already managed to ruin the 2919 abstinence challenge already! How much gear have you bought this year! 😂😂😂😂 These are great heads and if I had the cash, it would be on its way to me. GLWTS

I missed that. It does say Fender in the item specifics! The poles do look off too. There's something on the headstock at the back where a serial should be but I'm not convinced it's real at all. I can't remember ever seeing a burst with a black back?
-
Blurry photo's but I'd think fake, although he doesn't claim it's a Fender. The bridge is wrong, that looks like one from a 70"s/80's Jap copy. Tuners look wrong but hard to tell, can't remember the colour scheme either! It all looks a bit iffy for a Fender!

Just sold a MB combo to Paul. He's a nice bloke and it was a pleasure to meet him in person. Everything went as well as possible. Great chap to do business with and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again. Thanks again Paul. Cheers Dunc
